I bought this portable pump about 10 months ago and waited until i’d used it several times before writing a review. I rarely write reviews even though i depend on those of others in making decisions when buying products with which i’m unfamiliar, but this pump performed so well i thought i’d express my pleasure with it. Over the years, i’ve had several types of battery operated tire pumps, and in recent years have bought a small plug-it-into-the-12v-power-outlet type. They work pretty well but having to keep the car engine running while you use one, and having to fool with the 10 ft power cord is awkward. Also, it takes several minutes per tire to get it to the proper pressure and the built in pressure gauges are worthless. This astroai has none of those problems. It is about the size of a battery powered drill and it has an accurate gauge built into it that shows both the target pressure and the actual tire pressure simultaneously on on easy to read led screen. It makes less noise and pumps up a tire much faster than the other types of pumps i’ve used. It is powered by a 20v lithium battery, and this battery holds its charge for quite a long time while in its storage case. The storage case holds the pump, the battery, a battery charger, an instruction manual, and a 12v battery adapter that can be used to power/charge the pump from the car 12v outlet. I’ve never had to use this so i don’t know how well it works but i assume it does. The cloth case (with handles) holds all these items very compactly and the case is easily stored in a car or garage shelf. This pump is exceptionally easy to use and i’m very happy i bought it. I’m getting one for my daughter to keep in her car.
I could find nothing written on the pump or in the instruction manual indicating where this product was made. I hope it was made in america although the name has a distinct oriental sound to it. Regardless of its country of origin, it is a well designed, quality product.

It works great. Used it to pump up the tires during the recent cold snap. I like that it auto shuts off when it reaches correct pressure. The light is great if you are using it at night and is directed upwards not straight out which is a thoughtful design touch to help illuminate a larger area if the valve stem is not close to the ground when filling.

A few small things i would change on the next version: please add the ability to turn the light on/off because it comes on and stays on when in use; i would like to be able to recharge the battery from the car cigarette lighter. The battery has a usb out port on it to power devices from the battery when needed but doesn’t say anything in the manual about also utilizing this port as a usb in to recharge the battery. It comes with an ac charger which is the only way to recharge the battery. It also comes with a 12v plug to operate the compressor from the cigarette lighter if the battery is discharged but you cannot charge the battery with this.
Overall a great addition to your vehicle maintenence kit!

I have a toyota 4runner and the tire inflation light tends to go on a bit, especially after weather changes. It is always a pain trying using a tire gauge, lugging the huge air compressor over, plugging it in, making sure the cord reaches, etc. I bought this for the simplicity of having a small handheld unit without the hassle. One of the most annoying things on my 4runner is that the spare tire is hard to check especially with the traditional tire gauges.

This unit is great, i was able to check all the tires and get them to the same psi in under 10 minutes, which included removing the caps and putting a tarp under my vehicle to check the spare tire. The tires were all around 27 psi (it’s the winter, so they are lower). The spare tire was around 24 psi which is what was triggering the inflation light. I was able to easily plug this compressor in, get a reading, and fill it up to the same psi as the other tires.

Great unit and i hope it lasts a long time, i am sure i will get a lot of use out of it!

I have bought two of these now (one as a gift for someone who loved mine after using it). It works really well and both of them have had accurate pressure settings which is an added bonus. I’ve seen other examples of these that can be off by 5-10 psi on average which means you’re always stuck using another tire pressure gauge just to be confident they are inflated properly. With that said, i do test mine against another pressure gauge every so often as well. So far so good.

If i had to pick one nitpick, it would be that it is sometimes easy to turn on the inflator by accident when moving or carrying it. The trigger is easy to activate when you least expect it at times. 😉

another issue isn’t with the product but rather amazon’s creative pricing. These retail for the mid sixty dollar range. Bought my first at that price and the second for a mid fifty dollar range during a lightning deal. Saying these are on sale and normally 90 bucks is just marketing fluff honestly. Makes you feel like you got a deal paying retail. Cheesy.

Love this thing! Its very easy to use, inflates my tires quickly and efficiently when my tire light came on in my car. And let’s not mention how convenient it is in saving me coins and a trip to the gas station! Especially since most of the time, those tire inflator machines are broken and people don’t have time to look for quarters all the time! The only problem i have is it can be a bit loud. But otherwise, this definitely a good buy! Well worth it!

So glad i purchased this tire inflator. Money well spent. I’ve used it numerous times and it’s so easy to use. I like that it’s easy to set the desired tire pressure and the inflator automatically stops when the correct pressure is reached. No longer have to worry about searching for an air machine when my tire pressure light comes on. The built in tire gauge allows you to see the current pressure and it inflates tires quickly. I like that it comes with two batteries and one allows you to be cordless. It comes charged so it’s ready to use out of the box. Highly recommend and it makes a great gift.

Hate long lines at air pumps next to the gas station every time it gets cold? You know, when folks get out with suits and ties and don’t know where to find their tires but they know they need to inflate? This device will spare you all of that frustration. My wife is obsessed with her tire pressure and now i love that because i have the solution in my garage. I don’t even have to find 4 quarters to use it.

This is probably the most efficient purchase i have made in a while. No longer do i have the dread feeling of having to find a gas station with an air compressor when the tire indicator light comes on my dashboard. All i have to do is set what tire pressure i need on the inflator, attach it to my tire, and hold the button. It automatically fills the tire to that level – i no longer have to go back and forth between an air hose and the tire gauge. Very compact too, so i can just put it in the trunk and take it with me. Very highly recommend.

This is a great product to have handy. It has two separate batteries one for car and one for out side the car to charge and use. Easy to handle and good performance on the job. My friend used it to air fill 4 big tires. That is to top up.

There is no comparison to this product! I have used many portable tire inflators/ aur compressors, ie slime 2 different models, kobalt, campbell hausfeld, hart, and pittsburgh. They all kept blowing my dc plug fuse in my cars. Some would also blow their own fuse located in the connector plug.. None of them had a battery.. I have us used this astroai several times (20+times), since i received it. The battery lasted thru multiple uses, most of the 20+. When it finally died and needed arecharge,, i used the included dc plug , and was just waiting fir ut to blow the fuse in my car, since every other brand had done so. This thing inflated my tire from 21 lbs to 40 lbs, and never blew the fuse! The first one ever to not blow a fuse! This product surpasses all the other ny far…i recommend this product to everyone looking to purchase a portable inflator/ air compressor

I started to use this inflator since the very first day i received it. The battery came 3/4 charged and it took around 10 minutes to get it fully charged. First challenge was to fully inflate 4 tires for a dodge ram the required 50 psi and the current level were at an average of 27 to 32 psi. It took to this little machine around 15 minutes to do all four and the battery was drained to a 1/4. I was impressed due to my experience with similar units. I put it to charge and perhaps it took around 40 to 50 minutes to get fully charge. The unit is compact and as described it has a flash light and usb outlets.

Advertise says it will fill 8 tires on 1 full battary but i pumped up 7 tires that all required 51 max psi and when i started it was at 26 psi . I almost finished the 7 tire and it turned off at 40 psi. The item is not bad for the price and its portable and could be hook up to a cig lighter aswell just incase the battary dies, u have a backup. The light should be able to turn on/off when u need it, it just stays on the whole time which kills the battary quicker. Overall not to shabby nice litte thing but would recommand charging the battary after the 4th tire

I really love the portability and ergonomics of having a tire inflator with a power tool form factor. It holds a charge ok but i would check it monthly if this is something you’re keeping in the car in case of emergencies. My only criticism is the accuracy of the guage which seems to be a problem with many cheaper devices. Mine is running about 5 lbs less than it says.

The air compressor is great and i like that the compressor is portable and easy to use. The digital display is great and the ability to set the psi and the compressor will stop when the pressure is reached. I think the 20 volt battery doesn’t last as long between charges as i’d like. Overall, this is a great product for the price point.

I was able to add approximately 2 lbs of air to all 4 tires of our lincoln. My santa fe however
had one problem. 3 of the tires took air without a problem, but one of the rear tires would not
take air. The worst part was that every time i put the nozzle on the stem, the tire would lose a
pound of air. I ended up at the gas station bringing that tire from 29 lbs to 35 lbs. That tire was
the last tire i worked on, and up to that point i was very impressed with the unit. I think it may be
a bent valve stem that’s causing the problem.

This portable air compressor is a must to keep in your car or utv. I was out in the desert trail riding and got a flat. 16 miles from my campsite. I pulled out my flat tire repair kit and used this compressor to get back up and running. Took 10 minutes tops! I am glad i bought this.

My husband was thrilled to get this as a surprise. We have a very hard time finding a working air machine in our area. It’s awesome that you can set the total pressure and it will automatically fill the tires. I bought this to replace another brand that was hard to reach back tires primarily because it is supposed to be cordless. But the instructions say to use the battery ‘only in an emergency’ and otherwise to use a plug-in cigarette- style charger (also included). That is not what i was expecting and was a disappointment overall but otherwise it’s a great thing to have on hand.

It looked like the tire compressor was previously used and repackaged. A hose extension was already connected to the compressor plus all the velcro holders were not attached to components. I tried using the compressor but it didn’t remove my dashboard tire indicator light. I purchased the compressor for convenience but ended up going to my tire store to check tires and inflation.

Pumps fast – that is great.

Hose should be removable – my biggest complaint.

Carrying case is floppy – useless – and zipper already broke after first use – whatever, using a different case anyway.

Should be able to charge battery without removing it from unit.

I give it five stars for its quickness, quality, and ease of use – would have given it five overall if it had better case, removable hose, and better charging option.

Great for adjusting tire pressure, easy to use, if you need to fill a tire from zero or very low pressure it will take a while. The volume of air moved is not large. Depending on your requirements can meet your needs.
