Beetles 2 Pcs 15ml No Wipe Gel Top Coat and Base Coat Set – Shine Finish and Long Lasting, Soak Off LED Gel Base Top Coat Glossy Shine Finish

I used to get my nails done at the salon up until the pandemic hit. Now i won’t go back there. I tried to do french manicures at home by using the exact same products and steps that my salon used, but i just couldn’t duplicate the same quality. I had alot of lifting and chipping within days. They were also hard to remove and doing that really damaged my nails. So i gave up and have had split, broken, raggedy looking nails ever since. I hate having raggedy nails.

Fast forward to june 2022. I really missed having a nice mani. I feel more put together and love when my nails look pretty. I bought this beetles kit along with their builder gel after seeing another review with a picture of a lovely french gel manicure on natural nails. The price was affordable and i could return if needed, so i decided to try beetles. I expected a complete disaster. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the products are easy to work with and my manicure is holding up well. The pic with my hand extended is the day i did them. The pic with my fingers curled over is a week later and i’ve just rinsed my hands off after potting a plant. It’s also after 4 long days of intense yardwork & doing all the kinds of stuff that, in the past, would always cause my salon manicure to get chipped or cracked no matter how careful i was. As you can see, this beetles manicure has passed the ultimate test. Just wow!! These products are the bomb!! Not one chip or crack after all that!!

I’ll list the steps i did because i used a few extra products for this french on natural nails. Everything is from amazon.

• warmed the builder gel (it goes on better if it’s slightly warm – don’t shake the bottle or it will get tiny air bubbles in it)
• filed/shaped nails, wiped clean with alcohol pad (soap/lotion/oil on your hands needs to be removed)
• used a teeny drop of dehydrator, quickly tapped the brush tip at top of nail right near cuticle, let dry for 2-3 minutes
• applied 2 coats of base, 90 second cure with each (they will be tacky – leave them this way – allows next layer to adhere really well)
• applied 2 medium to thin coats of builder gel (did 3 coats on index finger & thumb as they tend to be the ones that break), 60-90 cure with each layer, wipe with alcohol pad after last layer (builder gel is thick but self-levels and cures well with little tackiness)
• applied first coat of white polish a tiny bit wider than what you see in pics, used a small brush (dipped in rubbing alcohol and blotted) to remove excess polish to make crisp edge of the french, cure for 60, carefully did 2 more layers to get tips really white, cured each the same (onedor cures beautifully)
• applied 3 layers of top coat, cured each for 90, last coat cured then wiped with an alcohol pad to set the gel and remove any tackiness
• filed and smoothed edges of nails to remove any excess gel

i haven’t tried removing this gel yet. I’m going to see how long i can go before doing that. I usually file my french down as my nails grow out (that’s why i do the white polish so wide). I will add a picture of the remover i got once i’ve tried it out. Hoping that part goes easy.

Overall impression? Affordable products that work great together, easy to apply, cures well under a home led/uv light, holds up well and your nails can def take a beating with no damage!! Highly, highly recommend beetles!!

This is so shiny! I’ve tried several different top coats for polish and was disappointed in most. They never had the pure shine i wanted from a clear top coat. This has the shine i’ve been looking for.

For removal i did use a peel layer below the base coat, cotton swabs with nail clips, and all that in a plastic bag under hot water. It lasts a long time. Often i get a chip from other polishes in a few days, or it starts to peel on its own in a few days and i hate that. This polish just does what it is supposed to do. I’m sold for life!

As a no wipe top coat, i did find a few nails slightly sticky. I still did a wipe with isopropyl alcohol and a lint free towel. Not a big deal to me. Some of my nails were a no wipe case. Be prepared to wipe is all i’m saying. I’m a happy customer. I just wanted shiny nails, with or without a colored polish (it does look good on plain nails imo), that was strong enough for my weak nails. Happy happy happy !!!

I bought this to use in junction with the candy corn 6-piece polish set from the same brand. I’m incredibly impressed with this base and top coat!!

The base coat was easy to apply in the recommended thin layers and provided a nice grippy surface for the color polish. I cured it for 2 1/2 minutes, just like i did with everything else after. The top coat stole the show though! It’s thicker than the base coat, but still easy to apply. What really seals the deal for me though (pun intended) is the beautiful glassy finish it gave my nails! I did feel a slight burning sensation when i cured it, but the brand warns you about that, so i expected it. It doesn’t last long.

I’m so excited to see how long my nails last with this combo, and i’m overall extremely pleased with this brand!

The gel itself is thin compared to others i have tried! This gel is the best one i have found so far. I used this gel to set press on nails on multiple occasions. I find that the gel works best when you use clear press ons/acrylics (mine lasted 2 weeks) , if you don’t then it might not dry completely. Other than that i would highly recommend this product!

Perfect duo for my first time doing gel nails at home. I am a pandemic nail tech lol so this was a great buy to start my day gel nail journey. Easy to apply, easy to cure, as well as easy to remove. I love this brand.

I ordered a base coat from a big nail brand and my polish with this base coat lasted so much longer! I got a solid week from this with no issues whereas my name brand base coat peeled off every nail after one shower sadly. The top coat is also super shiny! Great purchase, i would order again! No burning under led/uv lamp either which is a plus!

The beetles gel nail products are awesome. I was hesitant to do my own gel nails at home but it’s been much easier than i thought. The color lasts for a long time with no chips on the nail tips. Mine have grown out and lifted up at the base, probably because i’m not doing it correctly (see picture). This picture is my 3rd round of using the product. I’m very satisfied with the results and have already ordered another color set.

This product is absolutely everything i have been looking for and more. I started do my own nails last year. I even do my own full sets and fills but couldn’t find the right gel polish to get my nails to look right. I honestly think the base/top coat are a match made in heaven. As soon as i put the base coat to cure i thought to myself oooo she might be it and she is. My favorite part is how fast they cure. Dream product.

I love the beetles brand! Literally all their stuff is the best. I ran out of the other gel that came with the set and so i bought this one and it was even better! I did my nails using both base and top coat. It lasted so long and looks professional!

I used the base and top coat polish with a beetle color polish. I found all 3 to be a little thicker than other get polishes that i’ve used and all 3 took a little longer to cure, but once they were cured, my nails looked great. It lasted almost 3 weeks before i felt like i needed to redo them and they stayed very shiny up to then. It is nice to have an option to do my nails at home sometimes and other that it taking longer to cure, i am happy with these polishes.

Works great stays on. My nails feel really tingly and stingy under the lamp when this dries though i never felt that with any other gel or at the salon..

I absolutely love the glossy finish and longevity of this top coat!

Used this with regular polish in between, and with powder in between. Comparable to opi, gelish, or china glaze, in my experience. Used with mini macaron lamp, three rounds per finger. I found it easy to flood the cuticle, but that’s more the technique than the texture. All in all, excellent and would recommend

I bought the gel foundation (base coat), top coat and gel polish. Satisfied with these products however i will say that it is not easy to remove!

The base coat and top coat were super easy to use, cured nicely under uv light, and left a really shiny looking pedicure. Would purchase again.

(i use my husband’s account) i think this is a great base and top coat. It has worked well with other brands of gel polish, i use opi and essie in addition to beetles. I use a ph bond dehydrator to prep and it has worked well for me! My only reason i didn’t give 5 stars is because i was cleaning the top coat brush during my first use and the bristles came out. I swapped the brush from the base and put it in the top so i’ve been using the beetles gel glue(from the tips kit) and it’s been working. I wish they sold replacement brushes to pop in the handle. Otherwise a great product and very affordable!!

I am an amateur at doing my own nails. It was my first time using a base coat and top coat specifically for uv polish. When i got to layering my nail polish my nails were still not dry, but when i added the top coat it hardened my nails. Very happy with the brand. I need more practice applying the uv polish, but definitely happy with my purchase.

I used to use acrylics with convention air drying products. This uv base makes it so easy to adhere your own fake nails at home. Prep the nail accordingly with filing it for texture and make sure they are free of oil! I used this with a fake nail set i also got from amazon. I was blown away how easy this got my fake nails to stay. Then i used the top coat which brought it to another level! Highly recommend. I will never go back to the salon and will be doing my own nails from now on! I am a uv gel convert. 🙂

i took off a star for a strong smell of formaldehyde in the basecoat, but definitely not a deal breaker! You won’t regret buying this. Makes your nails look fabulous.
