We have been using bitdefender total security for a long time on our windows pcs and laptops, and our android phones. It has done an excellent job protecting all of my family’s devices.

The reason i only gave tech support 4 stars is i had a support ticket for a wi-fi scanning issue in the android version that had been open for approximately a year.

Over that time there were a number of fixes they had me try. There was excellent back and forth communication. They even extended my subscription for 6 months. I dealt with some great people overall.

I got another email telling me to update bitdefender on my phone along with instructions for testing the fix. The testing took me 3 days to do. The issue had not been fixed so on the 4th day i was taking screenshots and documenting my testing.

That day i got an email that since i hadn’t responded by 3 days they were going to close the ticket.

I sent my documentation and screenshots to the technician i got the instructions from and also to the support person, noting the circumstances.

I finally bought an inexpensive wi-fi scanner app and told bitdefender support to close the case.

We will continue to use bitdefender on our devices because it is an excellent product and most of the people i’ve worked with there have been very helpful.

They wake a great product no drag on system resources updates itself multiple times a day and just plain works, been a customer for at least 10 years now.

A friend recommended this. It’s a great product. I use on my laptop, tablet and a cellphone.

Great anti virus just renewed

Bitdefender is awesome

Bit defender is always ranked within the top 3 av programs out there. I have been using this on 2 laptops and 2 android phones for over 10 years and have never had virus or malware issues. Firewall works great and it has a lot of features to keep your computer very safe. I used norton a long time ago and i did catch a very nasty virus. My isp provides mcafee av for free and i would rather spend the 20 dollars a year knowing i have great protection for my data. It will run in the background and i have not noticed any slow downs in my pc when it is doing a scan. Norton made my system come to a crawl every time it ran. Do your homework read the reviews and you won’t be disappointed in the protection this product provides

Very highly rated computer security at very competitive price especially if purchasing for multiple devices. Easy to install and use. Negligible effect on computer speed/function.

I was a norton user for years and got annoyed with their pricing and didn’t think that they were as good as they once were. Then i changed over to this based on some other reviews. I can’t say i’m a true computer person to be able to tell you all the technical stuff on this and make that comparison. But i can tell you it appears to work perfect on my family’s main computer and my wife’s travel laptop.

It installs easy and runs nicely in the background without taking up a ton of memory. The only down side is the fact that bitdefender automatically signs you up for renewal at nearly 2x the amazon price. So you have to directly cancel renewal to get the price everyone else pays. Beyond that this is a solid product.

Works well, have not had virus intrusion since using for the past 3 years like with norton and mcafee.

This arrived last night and i now have it installed on 5 devices: 3 laptops and 2 cell phones. It is feature rich, so much so that it can be confusing. There are some parts of it that i’m not interested in such as parental controls, 200 mb of vpn (200 mb goes in the blink of an eye so is worthless), password security (i don’t trust 3rd parties with passwords and have my own in house system i use).

It takes a while to install. First you download a smaller installation file which then downloads a package that is around 500 mb, then it finally installs. Configuration wasn’t difficult, but with all the different features that are offered, it is a little confusing.

One feature i love is that i can log in to my bitdefender account and remotely scan or wipe clean any of the devices that have bitdefender installed… This is fantastic if a device goes missing or is stolen. It’ll also take pics of someone trying to get access to a phone that is in the account… That’s pretty cool.

All in all, protection for up to 5 devices for $30 is quite reasonable. This product replaces malwarebytes and mcafee antivirus products on our devices and i do believe bitdefender is a better defender than the programs it replaces.

I can recommend bitdefender to you.

Instead of loading avast free and waiting for norton to come back with a special deal that doesn’t autorenew, i bought bitdefender for 2 years at a very reasonable price. It was easy to load and has a great consumer reports rating for 2022. I’m running my first full scan now so i can’t tell you how long it will take but, unlike norton, i can carry on with other tasks while the scan runs. The best part is i have escaped from norton’s ridiculous fees that, let’s face it, are way overpriced for what they deliver. Not to mention, norton’s constant pop-up interruptions that are more numerous than even freeware. Very impressed, so far.

July 2022 update
changed from 5 stars to 4 stars. Bitdefender’s notifications are annoying and its updates slow my device down.

Having been charged 1 month ahead of time too many times for subscription antivirus programs, i was excited to find these time specific plans. It is by far the cheapest method. From what i understand, i am going to have to uninstall and reinstall after the subscription expires but it will be worth it because i am saving so much (and not having to pay a 100+ fee right at christmas time will also be nice).

I haven’t used bitdefender before – previously i have used kaspersky, norton and mcafee. Functionally, bitdefender seems similar. There are a lot of pop-ups but i had the same issue with previous programs. There is a way to somewhat reduce the amount of pop-ups in settings. The only other challenge i had is that i needed to temporarily delete the vpn program i use for work but i was able to reinstall it immediately afterwards and have not had any problems with my vpn since. If you use a different vpn program, you may have the same issue. I am also using this on my phone as well – no issues so far. (info – using on a windows 10 machine and a samsung s9.)

Ran the free version for three weeks and it worked well.

Vender however shows ‘eligible for free shipping’ on the item product description then charges $7.00 for shipping at checkout for the installation code.

I have been using bitdefender for 5 years now and it is great at protecting you from online viruses and threats. Previously i was a nav user for several years. The best option in nav was the ability to disable the app with one button in case it prevented or caused an issue if you were installing a new app on your pc. With bitdefender, you need to disable each feature independently. Other than that, this is the best security suite available.

Have been using avast premium security for years and thought i would give this a try. The user interface in avast is much more user friendly but i will need some time to compare the two. Seems like my computer is running quicker with bitfinder.

I found it easy to do the basic install and it is probably ok to run as installed with no fine tuning. But, if you get into the manual to learn about the features and the general operation, it can be a little daunting. Many of the features and settings are not easily found and are not intuitive. You must set up an account on their website and some of the set up and operations are handled there. I had to study the manual to have peace of mind that it was set up properly and that i was getting the most out of it. You must set up scheduled scans and that took a few minutes to learn how to do it. Bottom line, after only about three weeks it seems like good av software but, if you want to set it up properly for the most protection, it takes a little time and effort to learn how to do it.

The product is great the options cost more money

The is my first time using bitdefender as a long time user of norton 360 (slows operation) and mcaffee total protection (should be named total useless). I bought this after mcaffee expired and norton 360 premium 2020 would not install on macbook pro running catalina os. I intend to use this on a macbook pro, ipad pro, iphone 11, and a lenovo yoga windows pc (2019). So far, i have installed it on macbook pro, iphone 11, and lenovo pc. My initial review is that it is very easy to install on all these devices and has a great gui. However, it is best suited for use on a windows pc. Many features that appear on my lenovo pc (windows 10 pro) do not appear available on the macbook pro. Since i am predominately an apple product person, i am somewhat disappointed with this. I will continue to try it, but would not recommend it at this time for anyone who only uses apple (ios) products.
