Is this designed to handle a pillow? Dos it have enouh material

A pillow is unnecessary. I have a 24′ pool. I bought the one for the 28′ round and it fits great. It lays flat on the water and goes up straight on the sides and down an few feet. I have it installed the way the warranty requires. When it rains water gets on top of the cover and actually holds it in place better. With pillows and jugs of water hanging off the sides you can guarantee your cover will have to be replaced yearly.

Would this 24 feet cover work on a 26 foot diameter metal framed intex pool?

No…. You will need to get one for a 27′ pool

Would this fit my 22 ft pool

Yes it would. It is good to have a larger cover when you get rain or snow so the cover does not pull hard down on the top of the pool. If you have any other questions, you can also call 800-950-2210. Familypoolfun.com

What is the scrim measurement

Scrim measurement is not the length, width or diameter of the cover’s overall size.

Scrim is the measurement of the weave of the material per square inch.
A higher scrim number indicates a higher-quality or more heavy-duty pool cover. An 8-by-8 scrim is good quality to start and the highest ones are 12-by-12 or 14-by-14; keep in mind scrim doesn’t apply to solar covers or mesh covers, which let rain through but not debris.

Can this cover accommodate an air pillow (ice compensator)? Or is not recommended for some reason?

With respect to others opinions on whether or not to use a ‘pillow’, here’s why you should use one:
https://www.swimuniversity.com/pool-air-pillow/ . The main reason covers fail is , because people use water jugs as weight to hold down the cover down. This added weight is what causes them to stretch and tear.

Why is there such a wide divergence in the customer reviews?

I doubt anyone will be able to give you a definitive answer. Different sellers are selling this same cover and all of the reviews are aggregated together. Perhaps some sellers are selling a higher quality version while most sellers are selling one of lower quality. I just know that the one that was delivered to me looked like it was ripped to shreds by freddy kruger after just a few months on the pool (during a mild, eastern north carolina winter i might add).

How do i make return

Don’t buy

Will 15 ft cover fit a 16 ft pool

Will a square pin fit a round hole

This lasted one year how do i use the warranty?

I hate to say it….. Good luck. Mine last one year too and is now in the trash because i called and emailed numerous times with no response.

This is supposed to be ten year warranty? There is a line straight across that is leaking wateemy husnd drained water off three time then we realized

This item is garbage kept coming off the pool when we would have strong winds no matter how tight i made the cable

Is this cover mesh or solid?

Solid but has ripped to shreds after 2 years. Would not advise purchasing. Have not contacted company to verify warranty. Just happened last month.

Is this a flow thru design?

No. If you have any other questions, you can also call 800-950-2210. Familypoolfun

If i have a 21ft pool can i get away with doing the 18ft cover? I see it has four inches of extra to it i just don’t want it to have too much overhang

No don’t think you would have enough all the way around. If so, it may be real close. I would go up one size.

I bought this cover received it on fri 9-6-13 put it on the pool 9-8-13 and on 9-10-13 saw that the seam came un done

My cover has been on for about 3 weeks now and shows no signs of problems. While i do not see it lasting 8 years as advertised, i feel it should be fine for 2-3 years based on previous experience with other covers like this one. I would exchange it for another one and give it another try. Sounds like the one you received was hopefully just a fluke.

How do you assemble the wench contraption to the cable correctly? No instructions for it were included.

There were no instructions either.

What is the actual cover overall size is it 30ft including the 4ft overhang or is it 34ft including the 4ft overhang ?

18ft round

Would this fit a 14’ trampoline the kids want to enclose it for a tent for an evening

It would but you would not have much of an overhang ….also it was very poor quality lasted only 8 months

Does it have grommets and rachet like other size defender cover, and will it be ok for my 22 ft round pool as opposed to a 24?

Junk

Why are you advertising 8 years when warrantee is only 4 years?

It’s a decent quality but as for the warrantee they are f’ing liars.

Will the 21ft cover work for my 22ft pool?

I have a 18 round pool with a 6′ toprail and the 18 cover had about a 1′ overhang so it may just fit but my lasted less than 1 season—very thin , came apart not worth the money

Went through hurricane ian!

High winds didn’t harm this bad boy. Cover was blowing hard from the high winds and i thought for sure we would lose it, or it would get tore up and completely demolished. Neither happened. I was very surprised after the hurricane passed and i was able to examine it for damage. Nothing! I would say this is definitely a great pool cover, the only kind i will ever but again.

5Expert Score
It worked just like the instructions said it would.

We have an 18×48 pool and purchased the 21 foot pool cover to make it fit the way their instructions said it should fit and hang into the pool instead of being stretched tight. They should inform the customer in the video before you buy it.

5Expert Score
Terrible purchase

I have always bought the lower cost for above pool covers since 2005. This is the worst cover. There were gomits missing, holes without gomits, deformed gomits and large gaps where no gomit was placed. We made it work because of a weather time crunch. However, i am concerned that it may rip before we re-open the pool. Not again.

Pool tarp

It was very easy to install. I had only one person to help with this. As for sturdiness, oklahoma has not got any really weather except for wind so i can’t really tell about the sturdiness yet.

Good product, great customer service

We just installed the cover on sunday so i can’t speak for how it lasts but the winch broke. I reached out to customer service on monday morning and had a replacement at the house by tuesday! New one seems to be working fine, happy with the purchase.

For the money, great product

Inexpensive
i’ve bought expensive versions of this product but they have never outlasted the warranty
i’m getting one each year either way so this one is a good ole cheap one
works just fine and i’ll throw it out in the spring

5Expert Score
Works great. Size as described

We have a 25 ft diameter pool. The description on the item is right on. We had 8-10 inches overhang with this cover. It wasn’t as thick as others i’ve purchased, but it’s still well made. We closed our pool for the winter here in mid-missouri so for now it’s doing it’s job.

Same quality as cover i bought in the past just what i expected for the money

Good information i learned some tricks to maybe make it last longer

La seguridad de entrega

El tamaño está perfecto fácil de instalar esta es la segunda que compro ya que la primera me duró 4 meses pero es necesario tapar la alberca para no desperdiciar agua

Good cover for the price

So far so good

Was as expected. All parts were included. Install was no problem. Like most pool covers the warranty is a joke. You buy one and hope it lasts 3-4 years.

Not an 8 year cover

We bought the same product 3 years ago. Just bought another but, obviously, it hasn’t been 8 years. Good product for the money, better than what local pool companies offer.

4Expert Score
Seems good…will see at the end of winter! Size is perfect!

The size is correct…as far as anything else. I don’t know yet. It is to soon to tell. I will right that review when winter comes and goes! For now i noticed a lot of people had questions on size.

After a year, warranty is 50%, and goes down rapidly sfter thst

Not good but not bad

Cable system is cheap once it’s used 1st time… Will always be curled up..
18-20 mph wind blew it up like a balloon and pulled up to the top of pool. Need to go between metal pool legs to keep from blowing off. Takes 2 ppl to put on and remove to fold up.
Water does not soak through from top to bottom…

Keeps the leaves and rain out

Needed a cover for summer and winter. This was a cheap option so wanted to give it a try. It’s a thin, round tarp. It has a cable to tighten the edge, but that has been a hassle since the cable gets tangled (we just use plastic utility clamps). It keeps the rain out, so if i can get a year out of it, i guess it’s worth it. I’ve seen cheap tarps that are thicker than this, but its held up so far.

Great cover. You need to understand how it fits. 1, maybe 2 year cover.

I bought the 18′ cover for my 18′ round pool. I drained my pool below the skimmer inlet to prevent the skimmer from freeezing. My water level was down a little over a foot and over the winter it lowered about another foot from evaporation. The cover still fit even at the lower water level. The cable it comes with tightened nicely to keep the cover in place. The cover is naturally designed to hold some water on top of the cover to keep the wind from blowing the cover up. By the end of our texas winter there was quite a bit of rain water on top and all of the leaves had gathered in one low spot. It was perfect to use a leaf rake to scoop off the one concentrated pile of leaves. I used a portable sump pump to remove the water. There was no way i could have lifted the dirty water on top and i did not want to allow the dirty top water to get in the still nice and clean pool water under the cover. After removing the cover i only had about a dozen leaves in the pool to remove. The cover is worn from the winter use. I’ll use it again this coming winter, but will buy another as a backup in case it gives up.
