How long can you leave these in water and will they shrink if left in water over 10 hours?

They don’t shrink when left in water until the water begins to evaporate. So however long it’ll take the container of water to evaporate is how long it will take them to shrink. Those at the top in the container will shrink first because that would be the water to evaporate first.

Im trying to make my wedding centerpieces, i bought the floating beads, but it says i needed the transparent gel beads. Would these work?

Yes. They don’t float. Add water. They swell up. There are enough for several center pieces. They are very small and swell to maybe a quarter inch in diameter.

My eads have been in water since sunday night and aren’t growing. Any suggestions?

Might be an bad batch mines was great!i had an birthday party on dec 14 2019 and i put water in a big tote that saturday night around 10sh pm and filled it up, and poured the beads in when i woke up at 7sh.am that morning on the 14th of december my tote was full of beautiful see through beads looking like diamonds and running over in my tube, and right now today it is jan 14th their still standing strong i had to put some out of my tote and put a 30 gallon trash bag in my big laundry basket to divide them up in order for my husband to pick the tote up out of my tube they were really really heavy.i love them and that was my first time and if i new that 50000 would make that many i would never never put that many in their again just tried to make sure my vases had enough balls.

Do you have to leave them in water after they fully expand?

Hi, it’s not required to keep them in water after their initial expansion. Once i drain the water from my vases, i place all of my expanded gel beads in a strong clear trash bag, tie it tight and then place that bag in a strong bucket. Amazingly they don’t shrink at all! With this method, i’ve already used them for three events that were months apart from each other. I keep them at room temperature and once forgot them in my car, during a heatwave and still, no change! Happy beading

What type of water is needed for these gel beads? I know some require distilled water only.

I used regular tap water and it’s been fine. They are still beaded and not slimey

Will these beads ‘disappear’ when covered with water

I’m not sure what you mean by disappear. You can see them in see through glass vases or glasses. I hope that helps you

Can i put these in a fish tank?

Better not put together with fish.

If you added the whole 50000 to water would it make a gallon two gallons of beads? I need to fill 120 3” vases 3” full to hide submersed light

Not sure exactly how much it would make. But i think you would need two bags for 120 vases.

But you can use miracle gro water storing crystals. I have used these a lot. With this one i used 3 tablespoons and get probably 2 gallons. This sounds strange, but the drier they are the more crystal look they have. (not sitting in water after they are ready) these can also be colored using food coloring. They look great with lights submerged. These are also in amazon.

Either one of these can be made early and bagged in zip lock bags for storage. I wouldn’t do much more than a week ahead. You can add more water if you need it at anytime. Hope this helps. Good luck with your event.

Is this potassium polyacrylate, or sodium polyacrylate? It’s important because the sodium can be bad for plants, but potassium is good for plants.

Its only water

How much long do they stay big??

These are definitely not as good as brand ones. ‘big’ is less than half the size than brand ones, and when you take them out of water, they basically stay the same size as when they were in the water. They don’t go back to the little plastic pellets like the brand ones do. While it was fun to play around with them and do tricks where you couldn’t see them in water, they weren’t as good as the brand ones.

Can i use these with battery operated fairy lights?

These beads have to remain in water to stay full size so i would assume no

I have strings of beads to add do i put them in wth the growing beads before adding water?

Grow the beads first. Once they have grown, add some to the vase, then start adding your string. You want to add the water beads around your string so it appears to float. Then add water.

How much will i need for 10 cylinder vases 7’t x 3’d? Thanks!

I used a whole bag for about 36 cylinders 7 inches each, and about 45 cylinders 5 inches each. ( 1 bag total for all)
tip: leave your waterbeads in water overnight.

Is it possible to know how many 320z mason jars they would fill?

These beads are very tiny but when you soak them in water they expand a lot. I used a small amount and filled 10 vases. I still have almost a whole bag left. I would guess at least 20 to 30.

How many ounces in the package

I don’t know how many ounces. I filled two large vases with them/ approximately 9 inches diameter one 16 inches tall and the other 22 inches tall

How many packs would i need to fill (6) 20in vases? ?

I was able to fill 3 7in vases with 1 tbsp of the beads.

When kept in water for 6 months do these beads turn brown and smell badly??

Anything with water and sun exposure will cause mold to grow.

Do they float or sink in water?

They sink and they explode really big so you don’t need many beads

Once these are expanded to the size, do they stay at the bottom of the vase if it is filled with water?

No the gel beads will enlarge and slowly move up the vase if they enough water. You do not need to fill water to the top

Can you add essential oil to make air fresheners?

I don’t know. I believe you can add essential oils and/or fragrances and probably even food coloring for different colors. I actually put them in a glass vase and put a plant in it. It did not hurt the plant, the plant is still alive.

I wasn’t expecting so many! Lol

Using these for centerpieces. Not even a full half cup of these made an entire paint bucket of water beads! I was extremely impressed. We had so much, that we let our 10 year old take a “bath” in the rest of them. Great purchase and well worth the money!

I gave this product 5 stars because i wanted to be fair.

When i bought this product i did not realize they are so very tiny. I did not realize as well that in order for them to become larger they have to be filled with water. That’s not what i will put them for. So i think being fair to the product because i, the consumer either didn’t read properly or assumed too much. I haven’t used them yet but i think i could use them on top of the dirt when i water my plants. Because that was a suggestion. I’m going to try that, then i will give an update.

Works well in neck cooling scarfs.

Made several cooling collars for father’s day. The men liked them and they stay
cool a long time.

Awesome

I would use a tablespoon of the beads first in a empty container, just so you can guage how big the beads blossom into. These beads will last 2-3 days at least. Definitely worth the buy

These look good in a vase

Loved how these looked in the vases at my wedding.

Loved these

Used these for my wedding centerpieces. They were beautiful and so easy to use

Good value and fun

We used these in cases to float faux beads and they were very sheer once the expanded and the cases were filled. Let me tell you that one small pack of these made 8 big tupperware bowls of expanded ones so don’t go filling them all with water at once unless you want quite a lot. Good value. Easy to use. Expand quickly. We used the extras to soak our tires feet after the event and then strained them to throw away. They could have been reused

Great gor humidor

Plenty of applications, from humidors to potted plants. Few go a long way, and they last ‘holding moisture’.

Awesome

Don’t hesitate!!!! These things are cool! I used about a teaspoon per 7′ vase with a floating candle. Used with floating beads. The other 2 vases had the clear diamond scatters inside. Was a huge hit!
Tip: make a small bowl of them so you can play in them!!!

They aren’t clear. Very much a gold tone.

Hours of fun for kids!

These large drops of water look interesting.can also be used for decoration. Just as advertised. They get to a little over an inch after soaking overnight. My kid love to handle them. Many hours of fun! Came out gorgeous. There are a lot more than you think though when they start swelling up and getting bigger. I am very satisfied with this shopping.

There weren't instructions, so i looked them up online

I discovered putting a philadendrum in water with the beads using food coloring is a bad idea. The plant died.
