CeraVe SA Cleanser – Salicylic Acid Cleanser with Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide & Ceramides

Update 1: so i thought this was great until i found out it helps with keratosis pilaris. I have it on my upper arms and had no idea what it was thinking it was just body acne that didn’t work with treatments. I thought this was working so great on my face, let me try this on my arms. So i applied it to my face and arms, one pump for both, and used my face wash cloth for both, exfoliating washcloth japanese beauty washcloth nylon bath sponge korean loofah towel puff large wash cloth body scrub premium bath washcloths exfoliating shower towel back scrubber 3 pack by casavida https://a.co/d/3rosf0j, to scrub both. I’ve only used it once on my arms, tonight was the second time, and there’s only one bump i can feel on one arm. It was a week since i tried it first so, fingers crossed, it will help get rid of the red spots as well as the bumps. I also want to mention i don’t use moisturizer on my arms. I was never taught you had to use lotion on your whole body. I wasn’t even taught you should use moisturizer, let alone sunscreen on your face daily. So, if you like multitasking soaps, this is one of them.

Growing up i’ve never really cared about what soap i use on my face, bar soap was good enough. Now that i’m passed the mid 30s mark now i care. In the winter the genetic cold cream soap works great. But now that it’s summer it makes me feel like there’s a film on my skin.

This soap didn’t make me feel that way, my skin feels great! It doesn’t feel like it’s been stripped, dry and tight, but softer and still springy. I can look in my magnified mirror and my pores are clean and clear. I often feel like i don’t need a moisturizer.

There’s little to no scent that i can smell. It doesn’t foam much. I will definitely stop my soap search and stick with this, will buy again and share with my daughter, when she gets older.

I like this face wash. I don’t feel like it strips my face it feels nice but the size is small i thought it was a bigger bottle. I think i’ll try another wash from their line thoe. I think is brings any impurities out which is great but i don’t usually get any break outs. I only get like one pimple every once in a while and i got like 3 to 4 this month and i feel like it’s a lot but i’ll update once i use it for longer. I’m combination skin also it could be that it’s just cleaning out my skin so ill keep using it.

I hate a buying nonsense. This is not that.

Every three months this small bottle (you need only one pump to use it) i buy a new one. It lasts a while and isn’t a waste.

I use this to wash my face in the shower after my hair. Then i use their moisturizer (that has yet to run out) which is great. Great products.

I’ve been using this face wash about a month now and at first i didn’t understand the hype but when i had surgery i wasn’t allowed to put any moisturizer on (which normally makes my face feel so dry it’s going to crack open) and this made my face felt perfectly fine. The smell reminds me of baby spit up but if you can get past that- it’s wonderful

To make the long story short, this is great for dry, sensitive skin, and it really helps clear acne!

i’ve had acne since i was 10, and back in the summer of 2016, i was prescribed birth control and a few months of retin-a cream. Retin-a cream can be really harsh, so i initially only used it for my body acne and not my face. Eventually i started using a tiny amount a few times a week to help my remaining facial acne as the birth control continued to clear it and to help smooth some wrinkles and maybe fade my acne scars. However, i was still using st. Ives apricot scrub with salicylic acid and some roc retinol cream a few nights a week also. Add in some time in the sun with no sunblock, and i ended up with a terribly burned face. This, along with the dryness from a colorado fall/early winter made my skin extremely dry and painful. I couldn’t even apply moisturizer without it burning. Needless to say, i had to stop using any face wash. The dryness also started to make my skin break out, and i couldn’t treat it with anything. After desperately googling remedies for my dry skin and forming acne, i started using a mixture of tea tree, argan, jojoba, rose hip, and sometimes castor oil on my face along with frequent honey masks. This fixed my dry skin, which store bought moisturizers for extremely dry skin couldn’t do, but i still had terrible acne, like the worst i’ve ever had in my life. I started using a bar of cerave moisturizing soap because it was on clearance at walmart for like $1 and i’d heard of people using it for acne. This helped to make my face feel cleaner, but it didn’t really help my acne. I knew i needed something that could exfoliate my skin, but there was no way i was going to use something as harsh as the st. Ives scrub again. I decided to try this because i did like the cerave bar soap even though it didn’t help my acne, and this has at least some salycilic acid for exfoliation. When i first used it, i didn’t think it was really going to help my acne because the consistency is so smooth and it doesn’t seem like it could really exfoliate. However, after 1-2 weeks, i started to notice my skin clearing up. Slowly but surely, this face wash helped to almost completely clear my skin. I had also started taking my birth control more regularly, added a probiotic supplement, and started using vitamin c on my face, so i can’t say this is the only thing that helped my acne, but it certainly contributed a lot. I also eventually started using an electric face brush to help exfoliate, and i think that could’ve helped. I still get acne around my period, and because i’m a college senior, so i’m always super stressed, don’t get enough sleep, and don’t always eat right. Also, you can’t tell from the pictures, but i have quite a few blackheads on my nose. The face wash has helped clear some of those and make them smaller, but i have yet to find a product that actually completely gets rid of them, and i’ve tried many. Even with the blackheads, my skin is so much better now. This face wash saved my skin, and i think it’s worth every penny!

picture 1- the right side is a picture from february 14, 2017 without any makeup after starting my oil treatment. The left side is from april 7, 2017 with makeup, but you can still see how awful my skin was. I didn’t start using the face wash until around the end of april.
Picture 2- the left part is from july 7, 2017, and the two on the right are both from july 17, 2017. I am wearing makeup in all of these pictures, but you can tell that my skin had improved significantly. Few pimples, but lots of acne scars from the breakout.
Picture 3- both were taken august 21, 2017 with make up. Once again you can see i don’t have many pimples, just terrible acne scars.
Picture 4- the left part was taken december 12, 2017. I was testing a bb cream, so it is cover the bottom half of my face, but you can see that my skin looks pretty clear. The top right side was taken december 13 with the bb cream on my entire face. The bottom right picture was taken today with no makeup. As i said previously, i still get pimples from stress and periods, but they are usually small and mild instead of the giant lumps i was getting before, and they go away really quickly using cosrx pimple patches (definitely check those out) and vitamin c serum. Also, please note that i do have freckles, so most of the spots on my face are just freckles or dark marks from old acne i am still trying to get rid of. Sorry for the long review, and all the pictures with makeup (i didn’t take many without makeup when my skin was that bad), but i hope it helped!

I used this after my foaming cleanser to clean my pores. I like how strong this product is and will finish off any residue or makeup leftover. I don’t like how the formula can be very drying so don’t use this cleanser too often but maybe once a week.

After all the products i’ve used i’ve always come back to this cleanser. It’s gentle enough for every day and really cleans out your skin and pores. It really does a good job at not stripping the natural oils on your face but also controls shine and clears out pours really well

It doesn’t smell, it cleanses well, keeps my skin clear with my adult acne and sensitive skin and feels wonderful on my skin. All acne cleansers will still be a little drying so i always follow up with my cerave moisturizer after and my skin feels incredible!!! I love that it doesn’t smell though especially as someone with a very sensitive sniffer! This product is truly excellent!

I’ve recently switched over to this skin care product and it has been working great for me. I have not developed any new acne and it is great for washing all the dirt and make up off my skin.

After about 2 weeks of using this face wash, you will start to see a difference in how your skin looks. It does not strip your skin, nor does your face feel dry afterwards. It lathers your face really well, makes lots of suds and a very good cleanser. I will definitely keep using it and even recommend it.

This isn’t a spot treatment like some people believe in the other reviews. You wash your face with it, and it brings up the gross stuff to the surface, in a way. You might initially break out a little bit because of it, but it’s just bringing out the dirt from deeper blackheads. I have very sensitive skin and i’m able to use this twice a week. I could probably use 3 times a week if i wanted to.
If you use it too often, you might get a burn on your face. My face gets red where i wash my face with it in the shower, but it goes away after a few hours. It’s not moisturizing, but it’s not supposed to be. The scent is whatever, it doesn’t smell terrible. It’s not really important anyways.

And they were right! I’ve never had much of a skincare routine, but im working on it. This was great for my skin- i was afraid i’d have a reaction. Im happy to announce, i didnt!

As a brown girl … It did not clear my skin but it did prevent of having pimples but as clearing acne it did not help at all

I’ve been using this for a long time now my face feels clean. I have very dry skin but doesn’t make my skin dried out. I have tried veryyyy expensive faces washes and make my skin dry dull burning this does not

No strong scents. Does the job.

I’ve always dealt with blackheads and recently i’ve started to get a bit of acne on my forehead/hairline (nothing cystic or too crazy, just tiny bumps). I decided to try this cleanser and after a few days of using it i’ve decided it works pretty well! I wet my face with warm water, then lather this stuff on, let it sit for about a minute or so while i shave my arms, then i rinse it off. I’ve noticed it does slightly dry out my face, but that’s good for me since i’ve always struggled with oily skin. I do notice that it does burn a bit if left on for too long, but of course that’s to be expected of when i put salicylic acid on my face (i have sort of sensitive skin, just make sure not to leave it on for more than five minutes- it’s not supposed to be a face mask lol). Overall i’d rate it a 4/5. The texture of the product is kind of difficult to spread around your face, and the smell is a bit off, but other than that it works great!

I’ve been using this for a few months and it works. It does dry out my skin a bit, so i always apply a moisturizer afterwards, but my skin has cleared up considerably since using this product.

I’ve been a cerave stan for long and had been using the hydrating cleanser for a couple of years before switching to this one to treat my acne scarring. I’ve been loving this cleanser, i think it’s really helped with minimizing breakouts and treating acne scars. It’s also helped with minimizing blackheads on my nose. Overall, a top-tier cleanser in my experience. I hope it keeps doing its job to fix my skin!!

I have sensitive, dry, acne prone skin. I love this product but i wouldn’t use it more than 2x a day as it might damage ur moisture barrier. If you have tougher skin than me that doesn’t get irritated easily i don’t think there would be any issues. Overall great product, would repurchase

I would say this would work for someone who just needs to wash their face because it isn’t strong enough to really get rid of any small blemishes even. It is surely gentle though!
