Looking for specific info?

Does anyone know if it can be used pet-safe? (i have a quite food-driven cat.)

The first question is whether your cat can ingest the ‘poison’. The bait stations are little plastic containers. They have small openings that the roaches go through to get to the bait. I doubt a cat could get its tongue through such a small opening. But they could possibly chew through the plastic container. The second question is if the car did eat the bait, would it harm them?the active ingredient is fipronil. This is the primary ingredient in many flea treatment products for pets. So dogs and cats apparently tolerate fipronil well. Fipronil is the active ingredient of this product and is only 1/200 of the bait so the amount contained is very small.given that it is difficult to get at, the amount is very small and fipronil is already used on cats. .. This world seem to be pet safe.but ultimately you need to make that decision. I would ask your vet about whether your cat could be harmed if they ingested fipronil from a roach bait trap.i hope this info is helpful. I used and as resources – good luck!

What do we mean by ‘small’ roaches? As is 1 in, 1/2 in or even smaller than that? The few i am seeing are no more than 1 inch in length. Will it work?

That’s about the size the ones i was dealing with were. I believe they were german roaches, if that helps. Just make sure you use the 12-month ones, the other kinds don’t work. I think they probably use stronger stuff in the 12-month ones.

If i have a 3 bedroom/2 bathroom kind of large home… Will this be enough? Or should i buy 2 packs?

I also live in a 3 bedroom 2 bath apartment and i’ve been using the single pack of 16 pieces for the past several years with success.i strategically place the units on all walls that are adjacent to other units.

If i have an unused, unopened box for a year, would it still be effective?

Combat max 12 month roach killing bait, small roach bait station has an unopened shelf life of 3 years. Opened bait stations should be replaced every 3 months.

Can/should i put these behind the kick plate under my cabinets?

Actually it really doesn’t matter, if you put it under the kick plate of the cabinet or not. ….put it where you think roaches stays a lot or where you see them most. I put mine under the sink, cupboards, corners and near the ovens….i’ll suggest to get the gel combat with it to get the maximum protection. …my problem with roaches is history and i feel safe now that they’re not around in terms of getting diseases cause by them. And if i see them, they’re dead…..hope this help because i know how it feels to have roaches around. Good luck!

What is the difference between combat max and combat? And where can i find the combat max large good for 6 months?

Combat max and combat have different ingredients. Max kills bugs faster. It is available on amazon.

Will these kill silverfish as well as roaches?

In my case did not even kill any roaches.

Do we have to use all 18 baits at once?

No, i had 4 left over, but i didn’t use them the second year. Their strength probably dissipates.
Two and a half years now and no sign of the little buggers.

How often do you have to replace them?

I change them out yearly. I live in a 4 unit apt building and i use the combats to control any potential bugs from my neighbors doings.

Can i use these in my vehicle ?

Combat max 12 month roach killing bait in small roach bait station should not be used in a vehicle.

How do you know when the trap has no bait or partial bait? Instructions mention to switch traps when bait is gone, but how do you tell?

We recommend that you replace all combat max roach killing baits every three months, or sooner if roaches return.

Do you have to puncture a hole in it so the roaches can get it

No, you do not need to puncture holes in combat max 12 month roach killing bait. Here are the instructions:
place combat max® 12 month roach killing baits wherever you see or have seen roaches.

Simply place them down for continuous protection day and night.

Use in areas like under sinks, behind toilets, and behind appliances.

Note: it is a violation of federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.

1. Use all baits. Break baits apart. Place all baits where roaches are found. Do not use in beehives.
2. Do not use sprays around the baits. Sprays contaminate baits and reduce effectiveness.
3. Replace all baits every twelve months, or sooner if roaches return.

Does it dry up quickly in hot climates? (it’s often dry & 100+ degrees here)

It does not. One of my problem areas where i placed it is in my garage. I live in nc and my garage temps probably approach 100 degrees in the summer when the door is closed.
It gets the job done.

So do these work for german roaches?

This does indeed work for german roaches. For more information please feel free to check our website:

How do you define small? Does it kill regular size (sort of big/adult) roaches seen in nyc?

No. You need the combat for large roaches with the nest killing feature. If you’re writing about the 3” waterbugs they won’t fit.

There epa certification?

Don’t know but who cares it works good

Is it effective once wet ?

It is not recommended you use this product when wet. While the poison does not dissolve in water, water could potentially effect the bait inside. Thank you for your question, i hope this helps.

Does this kill crickets

Thank you for your question. We cannot answer this question accurately as the product has not been tested for effectiveness on crickets.

Is this product good quality?

I consider it good quality. Many roach corpses found within three days of spreading the bait around in kitchen drawers and cabinets, behind the stove and behind the refrigerator.

Do these emit a detectable odor? I need something for my car (#hawaiiproblems) and can’t fog- all fabric and have kids.

We do not recommend using our combat products in cars.

5Expert Score
Simply a necessity in the overall extermination of roaches! Hey there right sizes?

They do the job even big jobs with an infestation. You should also look into the different sized products as large roaches can’t fit into the smaller units and you’ve got all sizes and not just the few you see. If you’re seeing more than a few roaches when you turn the lights on, say once a week, then you need to treat your entire home for an infestation. It’s going to require cleaning cabinets and drawers first, then removing all sources of water or food. No food and no water and they’ve got nothing to be there for. Remove every crumb especially i’ve the fridge and stove
read all directions thoroughly and call the toll free number with any questions. I used this product everywhere and only as directed. I also used a bait to draw them out and begin to kill them. Don’t just step on them as the eggs will fall off and eventually baby roaches will be seen and they grow and grow with crumbs and water or other dead roaches to eat. They are very, very disgusting so put your big boy or girl pants on and get the job done or call a professional. Good luck. Pete

You won't get rid of roaches without this method

They slowly crept up on us and took over our kitchen within months. Raid contact and barrier didn’t work.
So we got something stronger that had like 5 different poisons in it. It worked but all it did was make them look for new places to nest.
I remember having the place sprayed in the past and part of thier method was setting up roach traps. They insisted we keep them up.
It isn’t the spray that kills them effectively, even if a professional does it.
If you have roaches this is the only real way to get rid of them. I have become used to killing dozens a day. Its been over 24 hours since putting these traps into place. It seems to have went from bug city to a ghost town.
This is the same stuff professionals use. Use them all at once for maximum effect. Then after you’ve seen this product has gotten rid of all of them, you can spray the premises with something heavy and use barrier spray to keep them away.
These little bugs are crafty and use smells to communicate with each other.
They release odors to let other roaches know thier nest has been found and is under attack. They watch us from the shadows and move around us.
This is quite a nasty surprise for them.

Roaches, be gone !

I liked that it came in the next day. I like that it’s easy to stick on easily . Most of all , i love that it works ! Within a few days, i turned on the lights in the kitchen, none , not one roach in site !
It’s been a few months , still no roaches ! Very happy customer!

5Expert Score
Tentatively hopeful!

Due to some very gross roommates that i kicked out, my apartment developed a problem with german roaches. I tried everything to get rid of them, but because of my dog i didn’t want to try and poisons. Obviously, this didn’t work out. Natural remedies just do nothing.

This was a good compromise. I put these only in the kitchen, where my dog can’t get in, and the place i see most of the roaches. It’s only been a week, but i used to have to spray down the empty sink every morning to get rid of the roaches. But it’s been empty every day! I’ve even seen a few dead ones lying around. So far, i’m very impressed.

5Expert Score
Most importantly, it actually works.

Moved into a new apartment, but the previous tenants were gracious enough to leave their roach infestation behind for us. So thoughtful!

Bough a couple boxes of this and just put them out everywhere. For the first week it seemed like the bugs got worse, but after 2 weeks i’m only finding a few stragglers.

I think the entire complex is infested actually, but this seems to be working. I’ll keep putting these out until we move once the lease is up then i burn all my possessions and start over. That’s really the only way to eliminate them.

Fire your exterminator!

Seriously, combat is all you need. I’ve used this product for years. Safe for animals. No strong odors or liquid pesticides to deal with and no sticky, unsightly traps to look at. Perfect solution for your roach problem.

5Expert Score
Worked immediately

Despite how much i cleaned, i was seeing roaches of several different sizes around my kitchen trash can, utensil drawer, and sink. I even had a professional come and spray. I hated the stickiness and scent of the professional grade spray that the exterminator put around the perimeter of our kitchen. These baits are great because the scent is faint. After day one i didn’t even notice it. And i haven’t seen a single roach since. I was amazed at how quickly it worked. I followed the directions and used all of the baits that came in the box.

5Expert Score
It works

My apartment building has roaches and they made it to my unit. I’ve had these out for two weeks and i’ve seen 2 large and some baby roaches. This is a significant reduction and i will purchase more when it’s time to replace these ones.

Nothing else worked, but this did the job quickly

We had never had roaches of any kind. A friend brought them with him in his stuff when he stayed at my house a few weeks. Our house is very clean, but because of this we had to be even more cautious about what we left in the kitchen. Still, nothing worked. I tried all the other brands. Brands more expensive. The first day there was no change. The second day i started to find dead roaches. By the second week they were all gone. It is now 4 months later and not a single one in sight. Super happy with this product!

Most effective

We live in a condominium. The owner next to us rents their place and the last tenant brought these pesky roaches. My husband and i tried sprays, powders, gels and liquids nothing worked as good as this and required us to constantly clean up dead bugs and wipe up sprays. At one point it seemed as if we killed them al because we were so diligent but it’s like a new breed created itself. They looked different from the ones we were at war with before! We have small children so this product worked better since we could put them out of sight and they’re undetectable to put 2 and 4 year olds. We’ve laid about 15 of these throughout the house i.e bathrooms, kitchen, kitchen cabinets , the bedrooms and underneath the furniture. It’s been about 1 month since we’ve started using this particular product and the roaches are disappearing. Per the packaging, is says they will eat the poison and take it back to the nest. So far very accurate. We had so many they didn’t only come out when the lights were off, they began to walk the house in broad daylight!!!! We have seen a significant reduction of how many come out at night and in the daytime. I highly recommend even if you don’t see any buy and use. It only takes for you to get one and your entire life is turned upside down!

4Expert Score
Seems to work some

We placed them everywhere. There seems to be fewer roaches, but they are still around. It seems they will just run to one section now and hang there. We put bait there, and they just go to another section. I am not really sure if this is the product’s issue, but it does say it will take it back to the nest and kill them. I don’t believe that is happening here.

4Expert Score
Be patient

These roach motels do eliminate the infestation, but you you have to give 2-3 months.

4Expert Score
Great product from a reputable brand.

After implantation along with sticky traps, the problem solved itself quickly.

Good insects killer!!

I like the item

4Expert Score
Very very small

Unable to upload photos but very small compared to other larger one. Larger one also catches a lot of bugs. Packaging/description could be clearer online.

Great value for the price

Seems to be working i seen just a few roaches and wanted to get a head start on that and so i got this placed them around the kitchen and have not seen any at all since hoped it worked and they are just not in hiding

4Expert Score
The seem to work, but not 100%

I’m sure they work, it’s just that they don’t fix the problem no matter how many you use or where you put them. They do work though. Just not all the way.

4Expert Score
Seems to be working

It seems to be working, i haven’t seen any roaches so i assume that is due to the combat. However i don’t like the idea that these bait stations are attracting more roaches to kill them.

4Expert Score
Works as advertised

We had an issue with roaches in the house, they come in looking for water during the summer when it almost never rains. Placed several of these under appliances and in cabinets in wet areas. No more roaches.

4Expert Score
Worked for me. Medium-strong smell.

I have put this in the garage and it seemed to work.
The smell is medium-strong, but it depends on your sensitivity level and how close it is to people. In the garage it was not an issue.
