Is the basket non-stick? Dishwasher safe?

I am disappointed. I researched air fryers before buying one and decided on this one, 5.8 qt. After 6 hand washings the basket started to peel coating.
Previously research showed that aerosol is bad for these baskets, so i purchased a quart of grapeseed oil (450′ smoke) and used with hand sprayer. This is the only oil i used plus this top setting does not allow above 400f.

What’s the difference between this model and the newer model?

Good question! This air fryer has 11 presets while the stainless steel air fryer only has 9 presets. The control panel is also different. Besides, this air fryer doesn’t include any accessory but the stainless steel air fryer comes with a 1 dual-layer rack and 5 skewers. Hope this helps!

How is the volume/noise of this machine while it is on and cooking? Is it quiet and soundless or noisy/loud?

To be honest, it’s barely noticeable, and is rarely running long enough at a time to be bothered by the noise. I’ve had noisier dishwashers. Kinda like a loud microwave. Or a noisy air conditioner. Gently purring car engine. Not too loud. Not silent. Once you’re used to it, you may forget it’s on. So good thing it has auto-shut off. When the timer runs out on whatever you’re cooking, it turns off. So you won’t have to worry about burning your kitchen down because you got distracted.

What’s different on this model than the previous?

There is a huge different between the 2 models that cosori is not mentioning. The new premium version has a hole at the bottom of the basket covered with a small rubber plug. The plug is really fragile and breaks apart quite fast. I contacted cosori and they are going to send me 3 replacements, but really if you use the machine 3-5 days per week, probably you need a new plug every 2-3 months. They don’t want to acknowledge the issue, they don’t even want to offer the plugs for sale, in order to extend the life of the machine. I will use it as much as the 3 plugs last and after that the machine is useless. With a hole in the basket the oil drips out and it is dangerous to use.

Is this easy to clean this if you dont have a dishwasher?

We do not have a dishwasher. The angle of the basket side slots is a little awkward to clean, but a dish brush with a squirt of dawn handles it well. We just use damp paper towels to wipe off the upper coil once cool.

We found the popup foil sheets to save so much clean up!! A reynolds sheet fits in the bottom of the actual basket pretty well, with the vented basket easily fitting on top. It does not affect the air flow at all, and cleanup is a breeze.

For the consumers who purchased this item – how is it compared to a phillip brand?

This is easier to clean and cooks more evenly than the phillips air fryer. Cosori has done their homework by manufacturing an a++ product. Travis

Any problems with the non stick coating coming off after use and washing?

As long as the baskets are washed with non abrasive sponges, the non-stick coating should not peel. Please also be careful with metal utensils. If you are finding that the coating has started to come off, contact us! We would be happy to answer any other questions you may have.

Is the basket ceramic coated?

The baskets in this air fryer use a ptfe non-stick coating that is pfoa free. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Does it leave cooking odors behind? Like if i were to fry fish and then want to make a dessert. Will the dessert taste like fish?

Anytime you make fish in anything, you should thoroughly wash it if you don’t want everything to taste like fish. The baskets are fully removable and easy to clean. So you shouldn’t have a problem.

Automatic turn off when done

This air fryer will automatically shut off after 3 minutes of inactivity. We hope this helps!

Is it safe to use on quartz countertops?

I have quartz countertops but opted to place fryer on a large cutting board. Doubt it would hurt the quartz at all though,

Can you air fry won tons

Rub with oil and they are great

Does anyone’s fryer make loud rattling noises? Ours does and it is very aggravating.

So i did the initial start up instructions and had that rattle too while preheating, and then while preheating to cook some fries. The fries have been in there 5 min and no rattle. I wonder if it’s the empty basket making that sound.

Edit: just shook the basket, and now i have a rattle.

Does the writing or controls on fryer, directions rub off?

There are two decals that you take off, no directions on the fryer. The different settings are in the face and i would doubt that they rub off. I really like mine.

Does it use up a lot of electricity?

I am wondering the same.
I’ve been hit with an enormous electricity bill since purchasing, and.. While it uses less power than the oven, it’s also getting used continuously by my kids as it’s so easy to use. Relatively, they wouldn’t bother to preheat our main over. They’d just eat something else.

So, while it may cost less than an equivalent method, the likelihood it will be used goes up, and so may your power bill through that reason, not that the product costs more over something similar.

My new head chef – does all my cooking for me

First off, i absolutely hate cooking. I don’t like the mess. It takes too much time. My recipes never turn out like they show in the cookbooks…and my cooking is pretty awful. I got the cosori air fryer a couple of weeks ago, and i’ve been happily cooking every day, multiple times a day since.

You just pull it out of the box, and it’s ready to go. The detachable basket and pan are all that needed cleaning in soapy water before adding food. The buttons are self-explanatory. You’ve got a snowflake for frozen foods, fries for fries, bacon for bacon, and also preheat and keep warm.

When i first turned it on, i wasn’t sure what to expect. I wondered if it was going to get hot and scorch my counter (or me). I thought it would be noisy. It was none of those things. It does get a little warm on the outside but not hot like an oven. You do need to be careful when you’re pulling the basket out or any food from inside the fryer because it’s deceiving that it works so quickly and gets food that hot that fast. As for noise, you can hear the air moving, but i wouldn’t call it noisy. My alexa is near the air fryer, and the alexa hears me just fine when i’m talking while the air fryer is running. Also, since my alexa is near the air fryer, you can tell that the air fryer doesn’t get too hot or spit things at you or i wouldn’t have the alexa there.

The air fryer looks great on my counter too. It’s already become a conversation piece in my kitchen. I had family over this weekend, and they wanted to know what it was. I put on a kitchen demo of sorts, and everyone stood around and watched, then ate all of the food (not a crumb left on the plates!), and then they said they needed to get an air fryer too.

So far, i’ve tried recipes in the included recipe book as well as a recipe for chicken fried steak in an air fryer cookbook i purchased separately. What’s great about the cookbook included in the cosori air fryer is that each recipe has a picture with it, and the ingredients aren’t intimidating to those of you like me who don’t care for cooking. Most recipes call for ingredients you’ve actually heard of and probably have in your pantry — a real plus for me because i also hate wandering around in a grocery store searching for a random ingredient i’ll only use once.

The very first recipe i tried was sweet potato fries in the included cosori cookbook. I like my fries a little crunchy, so i probably could have left them in the air fryer a few minutes longer than the recipe called for, but they were still delicious. Definitely the best sweet potato fries i’ve ever had.

For fun, i then threw in some frozen okra i had bought in the freezer section. I bought a water bottle and filled it with olive oil, so all i did was lightly squirt the olive oil on the okra while in the air fryer basket and then just pushed the snowflake button. The okra came out so crunchy, just the way i like it. And i couldn’t believe it had gone from frozen to crispy crunchy in just a matter of minutes. Most of them were golden brown, but i could tell the ones that i had missed when i sprayed the okra with the olive oil. Those were white — still crunchy and tasted fine, but a weird-looking white. I’ve since bought a pressurized oil sprayer can that’s specifically for spraying olive oil, and it works much better at spraying everything evenly than my plastic water bottle.

Same night and onto my third recipe: chicken fried steak. Now, this recipe wasn’t in the incuded cosori cookbook. This particular cookbook didn’t have a picture, so i wasn’t at all sure how it would turn out. It’s so good, i’ve cooked it twice in three nights.

That night’s entire meal was cooked in the air fryer: sweet potato fries, frozen-turned-air fried okra, and chicken fried steak. It felt like an elaborate meal with hardly any time invested, and my kitchen wasn’t a disaster after cooking all of that. I only had a few plates and a couple of bowls that i’d used instead of pots and pans and baking dishes all piled up on my counter with a greasy stove to clean.

The next day, i tried the mozzarella cheese sticks in the included cosori cookbook. I totally botched this recipe, using baking soda instead of cornstarch. Did i mention how bad i am at cooking? Even so, the mozzarella sticks worked out okay (but not great, which was likely my own fault). They crisped up nicely and quickly. They just didn’t look a thing like the picture in the recipe book. I would have also liked the cheese to be more melted on the inside. It seemed like the outside was really crispy and the inside wasn’t really melted. This could all be because of my using the wrong ingredient, so i’ll give it another shot because, even with the wrong ingredient, they weren’t bad. They didn’t taste like mozzarella cheese sticks, but they were still good.

For dinner, i cooked the kids grilled cheese sandwiches also using the included cookbook. These didn’t turn out as expected. At least i used the right ingredients this time. But the cheese wasn’t gooey like it would be if you cooked it on the stove. If i had doubled the amount of cheese the recipe called for it would probably be perfect. The bread was golden brown, though. It was a bit of a pain to have to melt butter on the stove, then brush it onto the bread, then grate cheese before putting it into the air fryer. I can get a grilled cheese sandwich in a pan quicker than that, but it was still fun to try. I’ll try the recipe again with more cheese. I think it’s a recipe i can tinker with to make perfect.

I then tried the pizza from the cosori recipe book. I didn’t use pizza dough. I prefer pita bread. I followed the instructions as if it was pizza dough, which means you preheat the air fryer, brush your crust with olive oil, and then put it in the air fryer at 320 for five minutes. Then you take it out to add toppings. On mine, i put pizza sauce, pepperoni, mozzarella, and parmesan. Pop it back into the air fryer for another five minutes at 320, and it’s done. It was so good. I’ll be making another for lunch. The only downside was having to cook one at a time because i couldn’t fit two pieces of pita bread in the basket together.

My most-recent recipe to try is the coconut shrimp, which is also in the cookbook that comes with the air fryer. What would normally be a giant mess of the kitchen was only three bowls to dredge the coconut shrimp and then a plate to put them on. You preheat the air fryer while you’re getting everything ready, and then pop the shrimp in for eight minutes. They were very tasty, but i’ll add more coconut in my dredge next time than the recipe calls for. The recipe was good, but i couldn’t really taste the coconut.

I keep picking out new recipes to try in the cookbook, which is a first for me with my loathe of cooking. I’ve included pictures of the country fried steak, pizza, grilled cheese, mozzarella sticks, and coconut shrimp that i’ve made so far.

Even owning the 5.8 quart, you have to get used to cooking in batches. I wanted to make four chicken fried steaks that first night, but there was only room for two. Not a big deal. You just have to cook in batches. Making three pita bread pizzas, i just had to make each one separately since i could only fit one round piece of pita in at a time. For the grilled cheese sandwiches, two actually fit into the air fryer at the same time.

Like i said before, the cookbook that comes with the air fryer is full of pictures. It also has more than 100 pages of recipes. For example, you’ll find recipes for strawberry cream scones, stuffed french toast, bbq bacon, ribeye, meatballs, fried chicken, crab cakes, wings, pigs in a blanket, french fries, onion rings, roasted corn, cheddar buttermilk biscuits, cinnamon rolls, pound cake, and orange cranberry muffins. I would be lost without the cookbook. It also tells you exactly which button to push on the air fryer too, so you’re learning about how to use your air fryer while you’re actually cooking instead of having to read an instruction manual cover to cover before you even have enough confidence to cook something.

I mentioned not having many dishes to clean after using the air fryer. What i love most about cleanup is how easy the air fryer itself is to clean. Everything just slides off of it. I’m barely scrubbing it, and it’s clean. I know the description says it’s dishwasher safe, but i just wash it in the sink because there’s nothing ever dried on and stuck to it. I love how i can put a little soap on it, and it’s clean and ready for my next recipe. The water beads on it, so it dries really fast.

The only negative about the air fryer is probably my own impatience with one of the controls. The temp/time is shared by one button. If you have a recipe that calls for you to adjust the temp and/or time, you have to toggle the button. It starts with temp, so if you need to change how long to keep something in, you hit the temp/time button again. Somehow, i keep managing to hit time when i mean temp and vice versa.

Also, the air fryer cuts off when you pull the basket out, just as it should so it’s not running while there’s nothing in the bottom. When you pop the basket back in, it defaults back to the original temp and time settings when you turn it on, not what you last had on there. It would be nice if it remembered what your setting was 5 minutes before. For example, the other night when i had to make the pizzas in batches, i had to run the air fryer 5 minutes for one crust, then five minutes for the next, and so on. Every time, i had to reset the time and temp when i pulled a crust out. That’s when i began noticing how bad i was at toggling the temp/time button i mentioned above.

Both the time/temp button being shared and the air fryer not remembering your last time/temp are extremely minor downsides. But they’re the only negatives i could think of because this air fryer has quickly become my favorite kitchen appliance.

I have never had any experience with an air fryer, so i have nothing to compare the cosori air fryer against. But i did my research. Read the reviews, watched videos, and crossed my fingers that i was buying the right one. I couldn’t have made a better choice. I’m actually excited to cook for the first time ever. Tomorrow on the breakfast menu: french toast sticks!

Works great!!!!!! Would buy again!!!!!!!!

I was looking for an air fryer basket for my oven – then went down the path of getting an actual air fryer. I did a lot of looking on amazon – read reviews – then youtube reviews. I decided on the cosori pro ii air fryer oven combo. I think it has the best features and better reviews than its competitors even when compared to more expensive air fryers.

I’ve used it twice so far – frozen french fries. Planning on making other things in the near future. The first time – i followed the instruction on the bag of or-ida crinkle cut fries. Did the shake – (love the shake reminder – and that i can select or not). Checked a minute or so before the timer when off. The fries were over cooked – but still edible.

The next time – same fries – i followed the cosori cookbook guideline. Much better. They still cooked a bit faster than the recommended time. I’ll have to play around with the time – i think i got the temp correct. The air fryer cooked them so much faster than my oven and kept the kitchen cooler. A big plus on both counts.

I love the removable inner basket and the outer basket that catches all the crumbs – versus just a plate in other models that will fall out when you dump out your food. So easy to remove the inner basket. Also loved the safety latch that you must slide to remover the inner basket. It keeps you from accidentally removing the inner basket by mistake. The basket size if perfect too.

The touch pad controls are easy to use and very intuitive. I didn’t have to re-read the manual to use. Cleanup was easy too. Dish soap and a paper towel on both the inner and outer baskets. Dry – done.

I’m planning on cooking some zucchini – and – or – eggplant in it soon. Cut into slabs – season – cook. I like both but don’t cook because i didn’t want the mess of actually frying them in oil in a pan and the extra oil required. I may actually get some veggies in my body with the air fryer. Will probably try some other items too.

I am very pleased with my purchase of the cosori pro ii air fryer oven combo. Thank you for a well thought out and designed product.

I love my corsori 5.8 qt air fryer

The quick review: i love this af. I’m glad i trusted the 10,000 people who gave this corsori 5.8 qt af high reviews. I can’t imagine anyone regretting purchasing this item.

Detailed review: this is my first af and i read a lot of reviews and watched quite a few videos giving af reviews. I have a family of 5 and my youngest is a 6’ tall teenage boy so i basically cook for 5 adults so af cooking capacity was a factor. Other factors i considered where ease of cleaning, ease of use, how much i thought i’d actually use an af, and cost.

I only have had this af for 5 days as of 7/24/20. I will update this post in a few weeks. I have used this af every day since using it.

**update 8/5/2020**: i have used this air fryer every single day since i purchased it. I am amazed at how easy it makes cooking chicken breasts, chicken tenders, and pork chops. I especially like how the meat is fully cooked (i test using a meat thermometer) but still so tender and juicy. On my list of foods to try are a whole chicken and steaks. My teens use it to toast their sandwiches for lunch. It’s awesome at reheating leftovers (especially pizza!!!). Oh, yes, it makes awesome fries and onion rings. I am so happy i finally purchased an air fryer, and this corsori is still easy to clean (even after i made pork chops with a lot of sauce the other night), easy to use, and has made cooking so much easier. I continue to highly recommend the corsori 5.8 qt air fryer.

What i have made so far:
*french fries (frozen) – yes, excellent!! Easily handled entire bag and the fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, just how i like them.
*fried zucchini: the traditional flour, egg wash, breading. Instead of frying in a skillet of oil i simply misted the slices with olive oil. They were wonderful. Next time, i will try to make a keto version of these.
*chicken breakfast sausage links – also very good
*frozen salmon patties that i purchase at costco – very good! What i like about this is that the salmon patties are usually my lunch. I practice 16:8 intermittent fasting. I don’t have the patience to do a lot of cooking for my first meal of the day and i want protein. This af quickly cooks my salmon patty, it is delicious, and clean-up is a breeze!
*italian hot sausage sandwiches – oh my! I purchased the accessories for this af. I used the cake pan in the af to cook the onions and peppers. Then, i removed the veggies and cooked the sausages. My entire family and i loved how the af cooked the sausages – crisp on the outside but juicy on the inside. Once the sausages were cooked, i made the sandwiches (sliced the sausage roll, put a sausage link in the roll, topped the sausage with the already cooked veggies. I put the sandwiches in the af at 380° for 2 minutes. Oh my! I wish i had better words to describe just how good these sandwiches were! Disclaimer: i could have squeezed 3 sandwiches in at once but everything i’ve read says airflow is important, so i only did 2 at a time.
** update 8/5/20: i have also made boneless chicken breasts, bone-in chicken pieces (breasts, wings, drumsticks), and pork chops. Everything has turned out great!

Size: the square basket (vs a round basket) seems to make the cooking capacity of the 5.8 qt corsori greater than similarly sized af’s. I considered an oven style af but i didn’t want to lose that much counter space. I am quite happy with the size of this af.

Ease of cleaning: every time i use this af and then clean it, i am amazed at how easy it is to clean!

Ease of use: as i stated earlier, this is my first air fryer. I find it very easy to use. It’s fairly self-explanatory with the preset buttons.

How much i thought i’d use an af: this point was very important to me. I have been the proud owner for 5 years, at least, of a bread machine that i’ve only used less than 10 times. Please don’t judge me, i hear about it all the time from my family. I have used this af everyday since i received it, some days twice. I see this af becoming an essential tool in my kitchen.

Cost: i am a big believer in “you get what you pay for”. That said, i have 2 kids in college and another one that will be headed to college in a few years, so i can’t unwisely throw money around. I don’t have any experience with any other air fryers, so i can’t comment on whether i think more expensive brands are worth the extra expense or not. What i can say is that i think i definitely got my money’s worth with the corsori 5.8 qt air fryer.

Final words: if you are lost in the sea of various air fryer brands, in my opinion you will be very happy if you decide to purchase the corsori 5.8 qt air fryer.

I purchased the af with my own money and i am not reimbursed in any way for this review. I seldom write reviews but i am so impressed with this af and i want to help anyone who is as befuddled as i was when i was trying to chose which af to purchase.

Other recommendations: i did purchase the accessories that are available from corsori for this af. I am glad i did, they make the af even more versatile. I recommend having tongs that are safe for scratch resistant surfaces. Lastly, i did put an insulated counter protector under my af. It doesn’t seem to get that hot under my af but i have new counters, so i am using a protector just in case.

The bee’s knees !!!

Oh my god i love this thing. I bought it after our insignia one almost caught fire due to a recall. I barely use my oven/microwave nowadays cause i’m lazy and this air fryer is just so easy and comfortable to use.

The beeping can be a bit annoying but it’s easy to ignore when you see how well it works! I toast my sandwiches in here, make my meatballs juicy and crispy at the same time, savory chicken nice and juicy. Amazing fish and i love the vegetable option as well. Soooo much space to add food in, you won’t be sitting there running it like 5 times just to prepare a nicely portioned meal. The possibilities are endless really.

Super duper easy to clean, i can soak the baskets in the sink with hot water and dish soap or pop them in the dishwasher. Either way the grime comes off nice and easy.

Brings a nice recipe book which i appreciate. I didn’t get the wifi one cause i couldn’t justify paying extra just for alexa to tell me my food is ready or change the time/heat from my phone. A little cardio from the living room to the kitchen to check on the food/cook settings never hurt anyone, but if that ain’t your jive, then wifi is neat.

Overall, i love this thing. If i could marry it, i would.

Like a microwave that crisps food

Ok, headline i’m sure got readers attention, but i used it because the cosori did cook food way faster than a conventional oven and crisp it cooking it thoroughly in a way a microwave never could. I really like my cosori. Many times i would put something in it and just use the 400 degree, 15 minute pre-heat option to heat up and crisp my food. Of course 15 minutes was usually too long so i would check it after about 5 minutes. The first thing i cooked in it when i received it was a whole chicken. It took about 30 – 40 minutes, but the chicken came out great. The best chicken i have cooked with anything (would love to be able to cook a turkey in it but we know that could never happen). Meat was moist, came off the bone easily, and flavorful throughout. While not quite as good as a costco roaster it came really close. Probably could hit the mark with some practice. Only issue was the chicken was a bit too large (that’s on me) and touched the burner. Really easy to clean though. I love being able to pull out the bin (cooled down of course), separate it, and put the whole thing in the dishwasher (bin and racks, not the whole cosori. Had to say it as someone would probably try).

So, lots of words. Simply stated i really like it, it works well, i would buy it again, and like with any tool you have to learn to use it to get the most out of it,

hope this helps.

Love it!

I love my cosori. I’ve been recommending it to friends. Sadly, i am at my summer place and i couldn’t bring it with me. Some day i will purchase a cosori blaze. That’s my dream.

Anyway, to answer your question, i really like the square basket. I can get a lot of food in there. It does the absolute best at reheating pizza. I’ve tried a lot of different methods, but my cosori does it best. I’m vegetarian so it gets a workout with both fresh and frozen veggies. It’s also a dream at “fire” roasting peppers. I char them in the cosori, sweat them in a covered dish and then freeze them or use them in casseroles, also cooked in my air fryer. I make zucchini boats, stuffed peppers, roasted veggies, and twice-baked potatoes. I’ve done egg “muffins” which are a hit with guests. Tater tots are great in there because i like mine extra crispy. I make quesadillas. All kinds of things.
I do all this without heating up my kitchen. In arizona, that’s important.

I watch cathy, on fabulously frugal you tube videos. She really sold me on the cosori.

If you need a sign to buy an air fryer, this is it!!

I was on the fence for a while about buying an air fryer. But oh my goodness, i am so happy i finally made the decision to buy one! I love this air fryer so much! It definitely takes some time getting used to. The only thing i would say is it is trial and error and everything in the recipe book for times and temps on foods isn’t very accurate. It’s something you have to figure out on your own by trial and error! But when you figure it out, it’s the bees knees! I haven’t touched our oven since i bought this!

I'm new to air frying and liking it!

I’ve been a grumpy old man and been clinging to my convection oven for years. It’s sounds something like… ‘ah, those things must have cold blind spot… Just whipping the air around in that small space…fling’en the oil and juices inside and making a mess…’ well, at least the cosori, it doesn’t have any of those issues. Tested it with homemade fries with tossed with a light coat of olive oil and not any issues oily sprays or leaks. Any drips stayed inside the pan part and the basket design was simple and efficient to shake the fries around or flip with a silicone spatula. Air seems to move around the 1.5 pounds test fries well. The single shake interval is good enough to give mostly even crispness. Heating up frozen veg, prepared frozen items, chicken crockets, roasting baby carrots, and links of sausages were all very good… Depending on settings of course. So about settings… It can be tricky. The charts and suggested stuff is fine, but i found i had to really personalize things to zero in on my idea of just right. Employing the ‘shake’ button or hitting the pause often was helpful to check on the progress. My first test fries on the pre-set were too dark and dried for my liking. The pressure from the air makes my convection oven calculations off by 15% or so, but still i have no real complaints with the cosori. Clean up after a busy weekend of cooking experiments has been a breeze. Only doing wipe downs with a paper towel and a few rinses so far and don’t see a need to toss it in the dishwasher. I’ve read somewhere that basket part may not handle many cycle through the dishwasher, but the clean up has been so light that i don’t think that will ever be necessary. Under the drawer or the air fryer’s cooking compartment, i’ve only needed a quick wipe down of any build up moisture and so far not a sign of grease. I don’t spray coat items prior to cooking yet, but i’m sure when i start, i’ll see the build up and maybe some residue in the bottom outside the drawer. When i get over the laziness and stop eating, i’ll add some pics.

Don't wait, just buy one!

I waited way too long to buy an air fryer. I searched and searched reviews. I’m glad i got this one though. The square basket is perfect and i like that the basket detaches from the base so you aren’t trying to flip the whole thing over. It is super easy to clean. The shake feature is super nice, because i don’t want to babysit time and constantly be checking for when i have to flip stuff. You can make some amazing bbq wings in this thing, and it only takes a quarter of the time of an oven. The versatility is out of this world. Makes toddler lunch times a breeze.

Convenient, easy to learn, easy clean up, doesn't heat up your kitchen!

First time buying an air fryer, and the cosori was highly recommended. I purchased the 5.8qt size. It is large and bulky, and with a small kitchen with minimal storage, that means it stays out on the counter. It has a sleek design, so it doesn’t look bad on the counter. It is great to have in any hot months to avoid heating up the entire kitchen with your stove or oven!

The touch screen design is not very sensitive, so you have to push the ‘buttons’ multiple times to set the temperature and time. The instructions state that you must always preheat the fryer before using, and by doing that, i have had success with a variety of foods. However, one thing to note: you must always select a preset [steak, vegetable, chicken, etc.] and then adjust the temperature or time to your liking; you cannot simply set a temperature or time. The automatic pause halfway through cooking in order to shake/flip your food only works [beeps & turns off heat] if you do not adjust the preset times/temps. If you want to adjust the time or temperature mid-cooking, i find the only way to do so is by turning it off, then back on to set the temp/time again. The air fryer also has a built in auto-shutoff setting if you do not add your food either after the preheat has completed or remove your food after the timer has completed.

Examples of food i have made in the fryer in 2.5 months of use: various different fries, country potatoes, potato patties, falafel patties, chicken breast, beef and turkey burgers, grilled cheese sandwich, roasted vegetables, etc. As with any new device, it takes practice to adjust to the temperature and time needs for any kind of food.

Ease of cleaning: the nonstick material makes clean up very simple. If there is grease/fat/burnt residue in the bottom tray, i wipe it away and toss it out. Then a spray down removes any remaining residue, and a simple soap and water cleanses both the basket and tray.

Not sure how long the handle will last before it breaks. The design is good for now, but i imagine with time, removing the basket over and over and holding the handle while shaking, etc. Will take a toll on the basket design.

Different way to cook

I bought the cosori pro air fryer cause i’ve heard a lot about air frying, supposedly healthier because of less oil needed to fry foods, and i didn’t have one. Learning how and what to cook in this is a new thing, but you get a recipe book that helps a lot. It’s a different way to cook, but what i’ve cooked so far, i like. I’ve fried chicken, steaks, jalapeño poppers, and even breaded red fish. Guess the only drawback with the fryer is the size. The basket is big for baskets, but if your cooking for several people, (more than 2), you have to cook in stages. If you plan on cooking for a family, you might consider purchasing a larger air fryer oven. But for me or me and my wife, this fryer is perfect.

Good product. Could be better.

I like this particular model, but the basket should not be used in the dishwasher. I recommend washing immediately after cooking. The way the basket is designed makes for cleaning very difficult. Cosori is a great brand, but i’ve already purchased a 2nd basket. Fix the design to make it easier to clean and it would be the perfect air fryer.

No plastic smell so far, will update when food is actually cooked

I took it out of the box and followed the instructions in the manual. I washed the baskets and removed all plastics and styrofoam. I did the test run (preheating it) and it initially had a smell, not a burning plastic smell but more of a ‘it is cooking but there is no food in there’ kind of smell. Regardless the smell went away completely on the 2nd test (it tells you to use the steak preset and let it cook). The interface is nice and easy to use and the air fryer itself is quite big. I’m excited to actually cook food in it and i will update this review when i do, but so far there is no plastic smell.

Company stands behind their product

After lite use for a 9-months period the non-stick basket coating started to wear off. I reached out to the company with 2 simple emails and they replace the basket with no hassle most impressive. As for the air fryer itself i would definitely recommend this model as the large square basket equates to a larger cooking area. Clean up is a cinch and the touch buttons are good for common quick meals. The basket locks firmly into the base.

As for the other reviews complaints here about the basket failing when lifting, i have never had this issue occur and don’t really see how that would be possible. The other complaints here stated the company didn’t stand behind their product, i didn’t have any issue getting my problem solved or quick service.

It’s a reasonable priced convec…… I mean air fryer. Capacity is decent although i tend to prefer toaster oven style. But after my expensive toshiba quit after less than a yr i did t feel like paying the price.
