The scope is awesome, not perfect but still awesome.

First the good. The quality is quite amazing. The photo is from my phone off the screen. But the screen is even more clear, clearer than i would have imagined. There are 3 black tips like you’d expect to have that you put on the camera tip. This allows you to pretty much just shove that bad boy in to at least an adult ear with zero fear of going too far. As far as it goes in my ear at least was the perfect spot for checking out the eardrum or the blockage. In my case some cotton from qtips i guess. There are also some surgical type tips that you can use to scrape or pull out obstructions. These are great i was just unable to be successful with them because mine required a dr and special water flush. But i could see how it would be easy to be successful with other stuff. The battery seems to last forever as i was using it for over an hour and battery never hit halfway. The light is super bright and the camera adjusts well. Just be sure to not point the light too much at the sidewalk or the canal will be too dark. There is quite a lot of finesse to the thing especially when you have such a sore ear!

The greatest part was when i went to the dr and showed them the scope with the photos. They were super impressed. Invited a couple other nurses and drs in to see for themselves. They were most impressed with the quality and ease of use. I could i overhear one explaining all the features to another in the hallway, ‘it’s got a separate screen from the camera so everyone can see…’. Lol. Didn’t think i would be impressing any drs with my amazon purchase lol. As i was filling out my insurance work on my phone waiting for the dr after the nurse part, i just had the camera shoved in my ear and the screen on the table so when the dr came in i could show them right away. Yup, just a patient sitting there on their phone with a cord coming out their ear, promise this wasn’t what i got stuck in there and why i was there in the first place! Hahaha.

Now the bad. The camera wasn’t perfectly up and down with the handheld flat edges on the side. Almost. But it was enough to cause some extra difficulty. I assume each could be slightly different. It’s hard enough knowing which way to move your fingers and probe by looking at the screen, a little like doing a maze through a mirror. But this is no fault of the camera. If someone else was doing it, it would be way easier because the operator can orient the camera or screen easily to be inline with one another. That’s it though, the bad is just a slight few degree rotation of the camera to the ‘grip’. The only other issue maybe would be the tools to scrape require the black cone tip to be removed. This can cause irritation if not handled carefully and allow you to go too far too easily. Just move slow and make sure you can see what you are doing and feel free to take lots of photos.

There is feature you can’t transfer files from devise to san disk extreme portable ssd unit or plug into laptop or transfer files to cellphone. Really basic devise and works well. Sale price was not to bad. $64. Basic devise that works well. Got what i needed.

It doesn’t take standard otoscope covers and it’s difficult to clean

This unit works great! Let it charge fore a bit before 1st use. Easy to use, good picture quality, great product for the price.
Wanted an otoscope for some time but would not trust units that required access to my wi-fi network. This is a complete self-contained unit that does not need network or bluetooth access.

Picture quality is great. Brightness is fine even in a bright room. Only items which can be difficult is keeping the wand orientated with the display. With some use it has be come easier.

Great device for checking ears. This is primarily what we’ve used it for. Very clear picture quality. Has other technical features we have not used but are available. Liked it so much, ordered another to give as gift.

This instrument helped me through a ear infection. It is well made and very useful for me.

I got this to see what was wrong with my cat’s ear. Unfortunately, i didn’t know what i should be looking for so i brought it with me to the vet instead and they ended up needing it; their equipment was too large and spooked my cat. They were able to use it and successfully located and diagnosed my cat with a complete ear wax blockage. They were so impressed they asked me for the link so they could buy one for themselves. Also tested it out on my ears and the picture came in clear. Good item.

I love that this comes with a monitor to help you navigate through the ear. I noticed some brands will connect to your phone, which isn’t bad but then you have to add an app and it can be a pain. The picture is great – it does mention in the manual that ear wax can sometimes blur or distort the image (because it is waxy and shiny and can mess with the light/camera). It takes some getting used to if you are trying to use this on yourself – i would recommend having someone help out the first few times until you can get the hang of it! I would only recommend going it once a day or your ears will be a little sore. My husband had a lot of wax and tried to do it in the morning, afternoon, and at night and complained that his ears were sore (which makes sense since he was messing with them all day lol). I do recommend taking a shower prior to using it because hot air/water will loosen any ear wax and make it easy to scrap out. It does come with a few attachments which have a hard plastic scooper to remove the ear wax. It does not hurt your ear if you are not rough with it – you have to get used to using it. I will say if you go too deep in your ear it will be very sensitive even if you are gentle do please be careful. This was definitely worth the price! It is rechargeable and comes with a charging cable. It charges pretty quickly (i think it took an hour or less to be fully charged/ready). Make sure you are cleaning the tools before and after each use! Great tool for any age!

I bought this scope mostly to satisfy my own curiosity but also as a way to show my kids what our ears look like inside. It functions easily out of the box but even with the instructions, it was hard figuring out some of the more advance options. Also, i didn’t account for the curve of our ear canals and so by the time i figure out which way is up, i have to remove the scope as the light on it starts getting too hot. I bought it back in december 2021 and it does still function. I still would recommend it as a decent option for those who are curious like me and even more for those who have a clue what they’re doing.

First off, knocked off one star because of the cost coupled with a bit of functionality of having it plug into the screen.

We got this to check our boy’s ears as they’ve been getting ear infections and aches recently. Two had tubes in also to help with drainage.

Overall really great experience with the quality and ability of the device. You’ll get some ‘interesting’ visuals for sure. It has a limited field of focus but that’s to be expected. Although what is in focus is very high quality. Just be sure not to smudge lens so keeping it clean is key.

The flipping option for the image helps but is a bit funky. It does help a bit but still takes some time to get oriented properly.

The scoop attachment really isn’t great. Better for viewing and cleaning with other means. The field of focus is too short so you can’t really maneuver the scoop and see what you’re scooping at the same time.

Providing a few more caps and/or alcohol wipes would be better. After one use you need to clean and/or replace each ear cap. This could be expensive but also limits you trying it on more than one person to really test it out. That limits the likelihood you keep it if you use it once and it’s not great. Not to mention it would be a better value if there were a couple extra of these items to start out.

Over all it’s a great home health aid and really is worth the money because if it helps avoid even one doctor visit you’ll recoup the co-pay at least!!

Digital otoscope review

what i like.
I initially bought this digital otoscope with the motive of being able to care for my own ears. It certainly makes it more convenient to be able to do checks yourself. Due to wearing ear buds frequently i tend to accumulate a fair amount of earwax. When i feel like my ears feel “full” or there’s pressure i give them a check with the otoscope. I like that it’s very compact, it has a quality feel to it, with the ability to check the amount of light the scope gives off. You can also capture pictures from the screen panel controls. It comes with a few accessories to place on the end of the scope for viewing and removal of earwax.

What i think needs improvement.
At times i felt it was difficult to get a clear picture inside the ear canal. The lens needs to be just the right distance from the object you are trying to see. If there was a way to incorporate an optical zoom this would really help add clarity to the picture.

Summary
overall i think this is a great product for the price. I would recommend it for people looking to visually monitor any minor condition of the ear prior to visiting their primary care or ear, nose, and throat doc. This would not replace a physician but may help deal with very minor or mild conditions and be for educational purposes as well.

This gets the job done. If i needed to use one every day i would’ve splurged for higher resolution but this is more than adequate for my infrequent needs. Good value for the money.

Good size screen. Easy to figure out.

This product works well as a stand alone unit but i prefer the ones that plug into the phone… Their picture quality tends to be a little better. This one is nice if you prefer to avoid hassling with an app. Easy to use and has decent picture quality.

Very interesting product. Very clear and well made. Have used it on ears, nose, and teeth. Gives you access to check at home instead of waiting to go to a doctor. So far have had no issues with this product.

Picture could be better, but i can still see what i need to in my ears and i have used it to look in my dogs ears.
