Will this work for bathtub drains?
Worked amazingly. I had already plunged, snaked and was at wits end and out of hope. This went right through the standing water and into the drain to the clog and got rid of it!! Worth the price
Would this works on kitchen sinks
I had a real stubborn block in my kitchen sink and i used two bottles of this product with no result. I then bought scotch corporation 1969 hair & grease drain opener a non-acid formulation, 1 l, let it sit over night and my drain is flowing like brand new. Hope this helps. You can but this product on amazon.
How much hydrochloric acid is in this?
The label says ‘contains sodium hypochlorite, sodium hydroxide & sodium silicate.’ that’s the extent of chemical ingredients listed. It also does state further on, ‘ingredients: bleach, water, cleaning agent, caustic, corrosion inhibitor. Scj formula # 35*21154’. Whatever the hell that means, your welcome to chase it. The plastic container looks very standard to their normal labeling for drano, but with 80 oz instead of the more standard 40 oz maximum. I have doubts they use hydrochloric acid as an ingredient???

Good question, nicole! While drano® is very effective against hair, food and soap scum, it isn’t formulated to break through cat litter.

Yes. But it not good for major clogs. I used it in my rv and ended up using the entire bottle to no avail. Finally had to use a snake which worked the first time.
Can this be used to break up the algae that builds up in an air conditioner drain pan pipe?
This item removes clogs, so i believe it could help, but algae is a bacteria and you might locate a drain cleaner with a disinfectant in it. Read the label and see if it does that.
Will it dissolve lego brick?
Great question, vlad. Drano® is very effective against hair, food and soap scum. However, it isn’t formulated to break through lego bricks.
Is this recommended for maintaining(once a month) the sink drain from developing hair clogs?
This works good as directed per instructions. As for monthly maintenance for hair clogs i would instead use a drain cover that will catch hair before it goes down the drain.
Would this work on drain flies?
I use it in my bathroom drains. It works very well, and i don’t have the best drains in the hud unit i live in. I let it set in my drain for hours before flushing it through with hot water.
Does it also remove stinky smell? I mean deodorize.
No, it does not have any deodorizing properties. It simply dissolves the clog, but has no particularly pleasant smell to it.
What will i need besides this for a clogged tub of hair?
This item on its own can eradicate a hair-based clog however you may be able to facilitate the process with a ‘drain snake’; a bendable clog remover cord you can use to manually pull hair out of the drain.
I have a clog in the kitchen sink with a garbage disposal. After trying this 3 times (followed instructions) it still doesn’t work. Any tips????
If this didn’t work, you should get a 3-6ft auger(snake). If the clog is further down the pipe, you’ll need a plumber. I had a kitchen clog where the clog was 75ft down the pipe is what the plumber showed me. I used everything from drano to green goobler , but nothing worked. It’s best to use a little bit of the drano granules every week and a gallon of bleach every month to keep your kitchen pipes clear all year long ime.

My usual issue is getting any liquids through delivery without whatever it is getting on everything else, so, i ordered this completely separate from the rest of my order this time and didn’t have to worry about it being on any of my other items! There was only very minimal leaking this order and i didn’t have a mess to clean up. (note: all items were actually standing up in the box when i received it as well! This works amazingly!!! This product gets a lot of great reviews but here and there are some that are not so great so it puts a little doubt in mind when trying to decide who is telling you the truth or is it a sales pitch. Well i decided to take the chance and i am so glad that i did. My tub and bathroom sink had very slow drains and both are working perfectly. I have no issues with the water draining quickly. This product it definitely worth purchasing.

Says to use 1/5 of the bottle for a single “dose”, except there’s no measuring ticks or other markings on the bottle so you have to eye it and unless you are a genius who can eyeball 1/5 and has the math smarts to even know what 1 divided by 5 is without asking siri, best of luck to you. Well i guess better more than not enough? Except for, like, potentially toxic liquid…

Worth the purchase as you get 2, and they’re larger containers-definite value for the money you pay. The product instructions are easy to follow/understand, and item description is accurate. Recommended, and remember to use bathroom fan of using to unclog a shower drain. Remember to ensure proper air flow/ventilation/fan/open windows (and/or all of the above when using (a mask would also be warranted) because there is a strong scent.

This is the best stuff for a clogged drain anywhere in your house. Just pour about half a jug down a drain and wait 30 minutes. Then run the hot water for 5 minutes and the drain will be open.

Put simply….it works!
I had a stubborn plugged up drain in a bathroom sink. I used the plunger until my arm wore out to no avail. I poured a full bottle of this into the standing water and 2 hours later it had not drained. I went to bed disappointed and was prepared to leave a very negative review. Much to my surprise i awoke to an empty sink and it has never drained any better than it is today. That was over a month ago. No offense to my plumber friends, but this is much less expensive. Will definitely use in the future.

So i moved in with my lady and the bathroom since is always clogged. I had a nini plunger for sinks i used. Sorta kinda did the job but even like an hour later it was a slow drain again. I have to tell you, when the sink drains slow and you see your toothpaste water or hand wash water, it’s not a pretty sight to say the least.
I finally had enough and bought drano. I poured it in the sink and it went down slowly and of course my lady goes to wash her hands or something and forgets what i’m trying to accomplish here. So i have to pour some more. Then i specifically bring her to the sink and say, hun, we have to wait the 20 or 30 minutes they have on the instructions.
20 or 30 minutes later i go to the sink and i run some water and the sink is still running slow surprisingly. So i take the mini plunger that i told you about earlier and started using it and low and behold i was able to push whatever was clogging the sink through and from then on there has not been any clogs. Not one. This stuff really works but keep up many plunger on hand.

Extremely easy to use. The results were good but not great. The standing water did go down the drain and cleaned the hair that was stuffing it up after 30 minutes, however, it was clogged again after a week and i had to go through the process again. It’s been clear for about 3 weeks. Hope it continues to stay that way.

The drain pipe in my bathroom is very slow. Then i bought it. I poured a quarter of it into the drain pipe. Then i washed it with hot water for 10 minutes. After waiting for another half an hour, i found that the water went down very badly. Fast. I think this product is still very useful.

When i first used this, i didn’t think that it worked, and i was annoyed that i wasted my money on it. I then looked more carefully at the directions, and towards the end, it says that you may have to repeat the process more than once for it to work. Sure enough, each subsequent fifth of the bottle, 30 minute sit, and rinse with hot water made my drain progressively better, and by the third or fourth attempt, my drain was completely clear.
Bottom line, is that you should buy more than you think that you need, read the directions carefully, and expect that it will work by about the fourth time that you do the process. With that in mind, i’m happy with it, and recommend it.

Drano Max Gel pours through standing water and works fast to clear clogged drains and restore them to a free-flowing state. Safe for all pipes. It works great to remove hair, soap scum, and other gunky clogs.
1.Carefully push down on childproof cap with palm of hand and turn cap counterclockwise. Don’t squeeze bottle or splash product. (Clean up any spills at once.) To lock cap, push down on cap and screw on tightly. 2.For use on clogged or slow-running drains, pour one half of the bottle (32 oz. size; one fifth of the 80 oz. size) slowly over drain. For extremely slow-running drains or complete clogs, pour in entire contents of 32 oz. bottle or one half of the 80 oz. bottle. 3.Allow to work for 15 minutes. For tough problems, allow 30 minutes. 4.Flush with hot water. Repeat steps two, three, and four if necessary. 5.For garbage disposal drains, follow steps two through four. If drain does not clear, do not turn on disposal since Drano Max Gel Clog Remover may splash back. Consult plumber. 6.After clearing clog with Drano Max Gel Clog Remover, follow up monthly with Drano Max Build-Up Remover to prevent future clogs.
