Filter should be replace every 6 months. Found ice maker to not be putting out the full bucket – even when ‘fast ice’ was selected from the touch pad. Installs exactly like whirlpool manual says. I noticed that the chilled water output is much faster. I expect the old filter was getting clogged and hampering both water and ice maker. I expect it will improve ice output. If other than expected, i can amend this recommendation.

10/2/22 – ice is now full, ice maker working perfectly, water flow is great. I will order more, soon.

I hated my water & my ice from my old fridge.. It was nasty.. But when i finally bought a new whirlpool refrigerator i was scared it would still taste bad.. But i was shocked to discover that this filter made my water& my ice taste amazing.. I no longer need my brita filter.. That wastes space in my fridge.

I’ve purchased this filter in #1 and #3. This is the first time i got #2. It has to do with how much filtration there is. How many contaminants it filters out.
I thought my water tasted “funny” when i filtered out too many contaminates i can’t really describe it, it just wasn’t to my liking.
Maybe having some contaminates is not so bad.
So far, so good.
If you’re buying the right one for your refrigerator it is not a problem buying this brand.

This is the exact filter i need for my refrigerator. So i must buy it or my water does not dispense from my refrigerator. Price is standard which seems high to me.

I don’t like that this filter is over $50. That being said, you get what you pay for. My ice and the water that come out of my refrigerator is chrisp and clear.

Filter is easy to install. I first ordered it from kitchen aid and it took forever to get here. Now i just order on amazon.

This is definitely were pools water filter and not a knock off like i’ve received in the past definitely oem quality easy to install read the instructions and you get to go highly recommend

I have been burned multiple times buying from other sites and getting generics that don’t fit my fridge. These are extremely expensive on the kitchenaid site. I will only buy them on amazon, i can trust i will get the real product at a good price.

This filter is easy to install and fits my refrigerator perfectly. It is a bit pricy, but it’s cheaper than all those plastic disposable bottles of water.

I’ll see how long it last but the price was pretty expensive. Works well but i purchased for a rental unit, so if it lasts for awhile that would be great, if not then it’s a high price to pay.

Here’s a tip… You don’t have to replace this each time your fridge tells you to. Just pull it out and stick it back in and it’ll reset your fridges brain. I typically use these for about 3 cycles before replacing. I don’t notice any discernable difference in water quality. They are too expensive to replace 2 to 3 times a year.

Super easy install! Would definitely recommend. The price has drastically increased, i’m sure due to inflation but other than that, good buy.

It works, doesn’t leak, and seems to filter the water a little bit. I wouldn’t say this is anywhere as near as good as like a britta filter, and it’s certainly not anything like a reverse osmosis filter. (some people on here seem to think they’re going to get magical low tds … This is a very basic water filter.)

i think they’re way over priced for what you get. The filter life seems artificially decreased (when viewing the percentage on the refrigerator). We typically use the filter for 2x it’s life span – i manually reset the life percentage counter on the fridge after the first 100% to 0% cycle. That’s as far as i’d take it, you can see a measurable decrease in flow rate. At the time of writing, these filters were nearly $50 each. If the price was like $10 i might actually replace them on time….

It is a good product

We tried the cheaper filters and found they would plug up quickly and suddenly bypass the filter with a significant increase in pressure coming from the cold water dispenser. That has never happened with this filter.

Basic water filter for whirlpool refrigerator

Expensive filter. Easy to install. Original manufacturer maintenance item.

Tried to save money with bargain brands, they leaked. Price is high but it doesn’t leak.
