Fire HD 8 Kids Pro tablet, 8′ HD, ages 6–12, 32 GB, (2021 release), Intergalactic

My son is 4 and tested the durability of this tablet. He has dropped it, stepped on it, taken it for shower, and submerged in it a sink. It still works. The touch screen is very responsive. The battery lasts his entire screen time. The screen is well lit and i could use it as a tablet myself. The parent lock features are great!

I love this tablet for my 10 year old. We had issues with her using certain games and using the chat room without even knowing. And this tablet gives me notification and parental controls and she can still enjoy her games without worrying if she will slip into a chat room. It works well and it holds battery for a long time and charges quickly as well. Her little brother likes to throw it around and it has held up great. I highly recommend and will be purchasing them for her little siblings soon.

Very durable. It has been dropped, thrown, stepped on and still works and is in great condition. Love that you can control the time limit and what they do. This has been so educational for my grandson . Has so many options for learning.

I appreciate that i have to approve any apps my daughter downloads. That’s very important to me. The tablet itself is great and great quality. The sound, screen and battery are all great!

I got this for my grandson and he loves it. He can navigate around pretty easily for not having a computer before. Battery live is good.

Not only is this product amazing. But the customer service is on point! My sons screen broke and i was worried i would have to jump hoops to get a new one. Not at all. It was replaced so easily. Had a great experience all around. My son is happy and so am i.

We owned fire 7, but the speed was spotty when multiple programs were running. The fire 8 hd pro fixed that, now our boys are not complaining and they enjoy the amazon programs that comes with it.

It works fine for a four-year-old. I think the battery life is good worth it as well. And easy touchscreen very good for children

It does everything my 7 year old needs it to do.

Although the 2 year worry free warranty that states for 2 years, if anything happens to the tablet, you can send the broken one in and have a replacement sent for free, what it actually means is, for 30 days from the purchase date if anything happens they will send a replacement and you can send in the broken one. (in my case i had about 3 weeks left of the 30 days once it was delivered) after the 30 days, you will not automatically be sent a replacement, you will have to send the broken one in to the technicians and they will try to fix the tablet, and then send you it back. Granted this is still a very generous program because we all know kids can be rough with electronics. However, my only issue is that they advertise that it’s as simple as sending the broken one while waiting for the replacement. Probably a 2-3 day turn around. After the 30 days the turn around time of sending in the broken tablet, waiting for them to figure out what is wrong and repairing or deciding it needs to be replaced can be weeks. There’s no fine print explaining that automatic replacement is only for 30 days. As a matter of fact in order to consider these details prior to purchase you would have to assume the statement claiming a 2 year replacement warranty is, in fact, misleading, and navigate to either the help section, or customer service to even locate the fine print yourself. I’m just trying to help the next parent in case they were chosing this tablet because of the 2 year replacement warranty (cause we know our kids lol) so that you are aware of how it actually works. It just felt like i was tricked into believing that it worked a certain way when it absolutely doesn’t. Like i said before though, it’s still a good program seeing as how it’s free, but it would have been nice to know that after 30 days i would have to wait a while for my broken device to be fixed and returned to me. Other than that the tablets are pretty awesome. My kids love them, especially the fact that they can video call each other from different parts of the house. The battery life is pretty decent too, my kids are on them alot, and i only have to charge them once a day or once every 2 days depending on use. The clarity of the screen is really good, and this one is much better than the smaller cheaper one. Definitely worth the extra money to get the older kid ones, however the toddler ones have a much bigger bumper to avoid breaks when dropped (or thrown lol) i had bought the 128gb sd cards for my kids tablets, and i never even needed to use them, they can easily archive old apps, or games to make more space and they’ve never used the whole amount of storage space. I think it works better with smaller storage space and archiving cause kids will download all sorts of stuff and never use it again lol. So all in all, despite the misleading 2 year warranty protocol, it’s probably the best electronic purchase i’ve made for my kids. As a final note, the free 1 year subscription to the kids thing that it comes with, i can’t honestly say whether it’s worth it or not, so far my kids haven’t utilized any of the subscriptions apps or anything. They mainly choose whatever apps they want from the store. So unless you’re going to monitor and use the tablet for educational purposes, it’s not really necessary. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

I have 2 kids who regularly watch their tablets. Each child has 2 – a backup when needed! These tablets are well over 5 years old. They hold up to being dropped, damp, thrown, charged repeatedly, etc. With that being said, one of the tablets would only show ‘fire’ and not any other screen. I tried letting the battery deplete, charging, holding certain buttons…nothing worked. When prime day arrived, i purchased a new one. I am disappointed in the case. Before the cases were more bulky but were very durable. I don’t believe this will happen with this plastic type of case. It doesn’t have the cushion to protect it. Also, why not offer more colors than blue, purple and pink?

Easy for her to use

I bought this for my toddler with the expectation that the addon case was child proof but within a few days she managed to remove the side buttons. The other issue is that it’s a difficult to use the android play store to put apps on it. It’s almost like amazon only wants you to buy through them. It’s even harder to get those apps into the child account so my solution was to create a separate amazon account that’s not connected a credit card so that purchases can’t be made through it. It’s not ideal

La tablet esta bastante buena, las especificaciones cumples con lo detallado, bastante básica, el unico detalle es que no viene con app de google para descarga de aplicaciones, se puede descargar pero para amazon kids no funcionan todas, tampoco amazon kids es lo mejor, cumple pero no lo esperado.

I think this will work well. Being an 81-year-old great-grandma who is not really completely computer literate, it has taken several of us to get things set. Written instructions for us oldies would be most helpful! I tried to follow directions on getting it started, but kept being told to ‘go to settings’ and could not even locate the ‘settings’ icon!!! Luckily i have several grandchildren with much more knowledge than i and i think we are in business. Our great-grandson needed some help to be ready for first grade and this will be a great help!!!

Excelente producto, la administración es muy buena. La habilidad de definir tiempo de lectura o estudio antes de poder utilizar todas las aplicaciones es increíble. Buena batería. Lo único que podría hacer mejor este producto es activar que soporte google meets y que el parent control tenga un app.

I love this tablet for my son. Only reason i gave it 4 stars is because there is no way to get app approvals before they are downloaded. Other than that it is amazing.
