Easy to use

You do not have to touch your forehead, just turn on, point to your forehead, and press the top button. The temperature quickly appears and appears near the same each morning and night. This is soooo easy to use. Please buy this thermometer and assist in keeping diseases in the know and away from yourself. Knowledge is powerful.

Great purchase

The thermometer shipped very quickly. It seems accurate and is easy to use after reading the instructions. You get a reading very quickly, so it is especially good for the grandchildren.it is also reasonably priced. I’m glad i made this purchase.

Top of the line

Throw out whatever thermometer you have and get this model. No wondering if you’re reading it correctly or how long to keep it in your mouth. This model is ‘one and done”. Point, click and an accurate temperature appears!

Easy to use once you’re used to it!

Easy to use, simple and understandable instructions. If you’re used to the typical forehead thermometers it might take a little while to adjust, because you don’t actually make physical contact when using this one (and accidentally making contact can give weird results). But once you’re used to it i think it’s a lot better than the usual thermometer.

Electronic thermometer

Electronic thermometer doesn’t seem to read accurately

Easy to use and fast

The calibration is a little bit off. It read 2/10 of a degree colder than 3 other thermometers in the house. However it is so easy to use and fast that it will probably be the go to the raw matter.

Seems just as consistent as i am

When i ordered this, i wasn’t sure if the design would be conducive to taking your own temperature (as adults generally do). Having the button on the back seemed like it’d be great for taking someone else’s temperature, but i wasn’t sure if it’d translate well to taking one’s own temperature.

If you share similar concerns: rest assured, it’s fine. The button is large enough that it’s just as easy, if not easier, than a trigger one for taking your own temperature.

That said, being a fairly simplistic and cheap product, it’s not without its faults.

The biggest is accuracy.

For obvious reasons, the farther away from the surface you hold it, the more the room/air temperature will affect the reading, and guesstimating fractions of inches isn’t exactly trivial for the average person, especially if it’s your own forehead.

For me, as long as i actually keep it in the same position, it’s consistent from reading to reading. As of this writing, there’s one other review who’s having a different experience. I don’t know if their unit is actually behaving differently or if they’re varying the distance without realizing it (which would, and does, yield results like they’re experiencing–again, for obvious reasons).

The listing says the sweet-spot for the most accurate reading is .2 (or .3) inches to 1.2 inches away from the forehead (or object).

If you were to ask the average person what, say, 1 inch looks like with their fingers, i’m willing to bet most would be off. Some, considerably so.

And that’s with their fingers.

Judging distance between between the opposite side of something in your hand & a third party is even tougher. Judging distance between something in your hand and your own forehead is tougher still.

Given how many cheap laser distance meters seem to be on amazon, one would think it’d be common sense to throw one into these types of thermometers so they can guide you precisely to that sweet-spot & give you accurate readings every single time, rather than throwing out room & air influenced temperatures as you try to figure out when the tip of this thing is actually .2 to 1.2 inches away from your forehead.

But this, unfortunately, isn’t a common sense product. It’s a thermometer. And, to the extent that the user can manage to figure out when the tip of it is the proper distance from the forehead/object (no closer & no further), it seems to be accurate. I have no reason to doubt it anymore than any other infrared, in ear, or oral thermometer i’ve used in my lifetime.

But, frankly, that distance thing is a lot easier said than done. Something all the more obvious when you look at the pictures on the listing of people allegedly using the thermometer and notice that pretty much all of them are further than 1.2 inches away (especially the one with lines drawn on it that say it’s 1.2 inches–that is at least 2 inches. At least).

My advice? Ignore the ‘no touch’ thing, put it physically on the forehead, and then move it back very slightly. That’ll be a lot simpler than trying to freehand it without making contact.

The battery compartment on this product is also slightly wonky, as the contacts they use are non-traditional. It’s not a ‘problem’ per se, but it can throw you off. It did me, anyway.

Handy thermometer for quick readings

This arrived with everything you need to start taking temperatures – including the batteries. Instructions are included. It took a few tries to get just the right timing on it, but once you figure it out it is easy to use. It gave everyone normal readings, so we had to wait a few weeks before anyone actually ran a measurable temperature to see if it changed and, when one did, this rose to the occasion and gave us what we believe to be an accurate reading. It is never ‘exciting’ to have a fever, but it was a little exciting to see this item in a more relevant kind of action. We have experienced no issues with this and consider it to work as expected. A good value in comparison to other similar items on the market, sturdy, and easy to store.
