I have lived off-grid for the past 6 years. I only ran my solar system 18 months ago. Three weeks ago i ordered this gorgeous fridge. I picked galanz after doing my standard research. Finding it was the most energy efficient, 138 watts is what it’s rated but this little gem uses 98 watts normally. I haven’t had ice for years! This freezer is wonderful. My frozen foods stay frozen and my ice trays are ice in three hours. It’s awesome! There are five settings- 1,2,3,4 and 5. I set it on 4 the first few days. Whoa! It was an arctic deep freeze in this thing! If i’d left the door open we’d have woke up to 2 feet of snow! Too cold. I lowered it to 3. Still too cold. 2 seems to be the magic number for me. It’s quiet, pretty to look at and the perfect size. Nothing gets lost. The clear glass shelves and crisper drawer make finding items easy. The soda holder in the door is my husband’s favorite part of the fridge! I like that his gallon of milk fits in the door so my nut milk can go on the shelf. If i could change two things about this fantastic fridge it would be these: you have to bend all the way down and touch your toes to open the crisper drawer. I’d make a handle at the top of the drawer instead of the bottom. Also, i’d have added in a small deli drawer. Those are the only two things i would wish for. It’s a great fridge for two folks who’s children are grown and gone. I highly recommend. It is designed for a garage. It’s well insulated.

Watch the amazon delivery persons very closely. They moved the fridge with the dolly in the back of the fridge and bent the motor pan very badly as the wheels don’t even touch the floor and the sides are dented in. A couple hoses were compressed (as in 3rd pic) and i had to gently move them so they wouldn’t be kinked. I think it’s too late to exchange as they took the boxes. Also make sure all the screws are in place, i‘m missing one.

But! The fridge is super cute and works well. Like others say, the handles should be made of metal instead of plastic.

I haven’t had this fridge along so i can’t talk about longevity but it is very cute in person i like the size for our cabin. The handles are plastic but they don’t feel flimsy

We all know a standard full
size white refrigerator is cheaper than this cool looking retro design, but i didn’t want crappy white . I really like this fridge / freezer .
It’s easy to move and so far it’s been working great.

100% satisfied. It is perfect. 12 cubic ft. Love the style. Fits slim space.

Wow, it’s been here for about ten days and i’m still smiling. It’s gorgeous with that retro styling, but most importantly it works fantastic. As other reviewers reported, i had to keep lowering the settings so it wouldn’t freeze liquids in the fridge.
We could not be happier with this fridge!

The color is cool, the doors swing smoothly, cools very well, handles power outages well.

Product is as described. I’ve only had a few days but seems to work well. Packing wasn’t great. Arrived damaged. See pics.

Product had 2 fairly large dents on both sides near rear. Would have definitely been sold as ‘scratch and dent’ but. No box to repack for return !!

Love the retro aesthetic and the retro red color. The fridge has a great layout for size and planned use. Agree with the chrome plastic handle comments, but as a small office fridge hope will hold up. Unit arrived with concealed damage (reason for 4 stars) but amazon resolved issues quickly and to satisfaction. Would absolutely purchase again.

Nice frig! Color is reminiscent of candy apple red. So far it works well. Using as replacement for bedroom, i.e. Meds, drinks and perishable snacks.
Only con was getting the handles as screwed on.

So far so good for fridge…delivery was uncoordinated. They didn’t call me day of delivery and left it in lobby…simple instructions not followed…very unprofessional.

The retro fridge is really a nice addition to my garage apartment. If the handles were metal, i’d give this review 5 stars. They’re plastic, which was a disappointment.

Embodies the 50’s refrigerator to a t, i love it.

Like with all things- i never leave a 5 star as that says there is no room to improve.
Whats good:
1) great price given the size. Most refrigerators of this price range barely hold enough for one. This one can get our family of 5 through for a week and a half room wise.
2) it works great. It does exactly what it should and keeps everything cold- do not set it to the coldest, thats overkill especially on the bottom half.
3) i love that they did not try to change up which end was the frozen food. It is extremely awkward and can lead to back problems if the frozen stuff (which is always heavier) is on the bottom. This design keeps the freezer on top which prevents the physical strain.
4) the shelves are easily shifted to fit everything where you want it. No more trying to decide which shelf can fit what- prefer drinks up top? Set the shelves appropriately. Prefer them mid or bottom? Adjust how you will.

Downside:
1) the freezer is a little small. That said, i still like the fact that even the freezer has a shelf that can be adjusted- no more having to pull everything out to get the thing buried in the back!
2) i thought this fridge was larger than it actually was, but that was my fault for miscalculating. So not really the company at fault- just a note to those buying to make sure they properly measure things.
3) it was a little slow to cool down. I don’t know if this is typical of all new fridges, but i was glad i had not purchased anything that needed to stay frozen or i would have been in trouble.

Over all, once this is set up and has had about 5 or 6 hours to reach its normal running temps, this fridge is great for the price. If you do not absolutely have to have enough food to feed an army at all times, this is a much better deal than spending over a grand on a bigger fridge- or 700 on a fridge that belongs in a hotel room.

I managed to get this fridge before the prices went sky high, i paid $399 and got free shipping. I did buy the extra performance plan from amazon just in case (based on previous reviewers). It is honestly the highlight of my kitchen renovation and it is the first thing every single person comments on – how much they love it. So lets get to the nitty gritty. Things i love: it is a full refridgerator and freezer. It is compact (4 ft 11 inches tall or 59 inches, and 21 inches wide). It is absolutely beautiful to look at, and it keeps things frozen in the freezer and things cold in the fridge. Things that i don’t like: it constantly drips water down the back of the refridgerator part inside (sometimes it is frozen and sometimes i can wipe it off, the manual says that is normal in high humidity areas – which where i live is, but i have the ac on so not sure why it still thinks it is high humidity in here). The other thing i don’t think i will like is it is not ‘self-defrosting’ in the freezer, but it says that in the description so i knew that ahead of time. I have a small house and i am not one of those people that keeps alot of left overs or extra food in my fridge (if you are this will not work for you). I also am not the type to stock a ton of stuff in my freezer (again if you are this is not for you). It also doesn’t have an ice maker, but i don’t care about that as i rarely if ever use ice. So just be aware of when buying this – it isn’t for everyone, but if you are trying to make the most of your small spaces and want a really cool retro looking, fully functioning freezer/fridge then this would be great for you as well. I really do love it!

Frig looks and works great. Only problem is cheap plastic handles. I’m afraid they will fall off if used. I open doors not using handles.
