I use this cam specifically to monitor my dogs and doggy door on our back patio. I am so impressed by this camera. I have purchased multiple brands, including another camera from galayou. Set up was a breeze. It connects to the wansview app so i can see it alongside a few of my other brand cameras.

Things i absolutely love about this cam:
– i can turn it on/off by timer
– i can assign a privacy area where it won’t record
– i can assign motion detection area where it will only alert motion in that area (perfect for tracking dogs in/out the door, not leaves blowing in the wind)
– motion alerts on schedule, turn on/off at specific times
– camera lights manually and on a timer (we’re using this for a patio light fixture so i didn’t lose the only light out there and now it turns on/off when i want it to)
– memory card storage!! And you can select if it records continously or on motion
– multiple light and night vision settings (and on a schedule, too)
– adjustable volume output on the cam
– the ability to replay footage by date/time
– siren/alarm that can be set manually or on motion (i imagine this would be great for late night cookie jar runs in the kitchen)

things i love about the app:
– integrates with my other galayou and wansview cams
– individual and grid view
– i can share each camera with up to 3 people with and it doesn’t have to be the same people on each cam
– super easy and clear audio instructions when setting up new cams

after extensive use, the only drawback i’ve found is the motion sensor sensitivity. I turned it all the way down and i was getting way too many notifications for outdoor use. It works perfectly for indoor use.

In my complex, we have assigned spots in carports. Because of that, there is a lot of ‘traffic’ that goes through the area. I was looking for a solution that would allow me to keep track of movement around my vehicle and storage.

I downloaded the app. I had to get an adaptor to put in the bulb and the camera (would be nice if there was space for a bulb as well!) i logged in and chose the camera. It gave me an option to scan the qr code on the camera. I scanned it and it counted down 120 seconds and it was completely ready to work. Boom. That was it!

I am sitting here, on my phone looking out at the parking lot! What i did not know and expect was how powerful the microphone is. If you see in one of the pictures, i am shooting across the carport to the other carport. There are apartments above that. I was listening to someone do their dishes. That is how powerful the microphone is.

This is a kick butt device!

This was one of the easiest video camera we setup.
Most of the work i did was adding the included receptacle next to an existing light bulb outlet we have in the garage & connect extra electrical wires (about 6 feet away).
The video quality for us is clear but please note that we have it inside the garage, not sure if the quality would be any good or bad if outside. I can’t install this outside since the existing light fixture we have is inside its own clear plastic (or glass) housing.
Pairing was a bit challenging, maybe it was my phone but it worked after a couple of tries.
One thing i wish they change if they will update this was to make one with an actual working led bulb, that would be something.

I find it amazing that an outdoor camera is not waterproof. Returning today.
I like the camera but since i’m mounting it in an unprotected space outside, it will be subject to rainfall.

Update:
i found a location that will offer some protection to the camera and reinstalled it.
After checking more into the cameras, i found out that all the outdoor cameras are not technically ‘waterproof’ but still considered outdoor cameras. I got another g6 lightbulb camera and installed it. I am very impressed with the quality and performance. The installation is a snap as is connecting with my alexa echo show. I am very satisfied with the results and changing my rating to 5 stars.

The power is connect to the light bulb input. There two way to install the wifi in the camera. I think the best way is set up in the phone and use the scan code infront of the camera to connect the wifi.
You can use micro sd card for the recording. The box doesn’t come with one. The screen picture are clearly able to view and use the speaker and microphone on the camera.

This camera is fantastic!!! The picture is amazing, it tracks motion, has built in lights (smart lights at that) and infrared, there’s no need for wires or an outlet because it screws right into a light socket (how awesome is that) plus it easily syncs over wi-fi. To top it off the wansview app sends me notifications and alerts whenever it detects motion and stores clips

I’ve had this brand over the last 4 years now. I got this one due to there being a light out light above my front door. I popped this thing in connected it to my app and bam perfect. Can control it with the app and recheck recordings. Night vision is great and using the color mode is a game changer. Also can set up in your house so when you place it outside all you got to do is place it and relax

Love this product it set up and linked to wifi very quick and easy. Since it screws in as would a light bulb it has little to no installation required. I have it set up on my nest the picture is great!

I ended up using it in a lamp base with no shade because where i initially planned to use it (front door) didn’t have the same size base. But it works really well and i had no problem syncing it. I would recommend!

Great outdoor light, easy to install and setup. Catches all movement. Had to set detection area so it wouldn’t catch the neighbors outside on phone at night. Only down side was that i had it set for light on at night and it catches all the bugs movement.

Very easy to install if you know what you are doing. Instructions could be clearer and larger.
Auto tracking mode is good but once subject is out of sight the camera gets stuck until something attracts it again.
Very sensitive even with sensitivity set to low it catches every bug and leaf causing notifications to go off all night long.
Probably make a better indoor camera than outdoor.

Wants set up it works great, a lot of control. Great coverage.

I love that this product just screws right into your light fixture. Shows driveway and front door. Love that it also has a voice feature and stores imaging on a sim card that you do have to purchase separately.

Unique light bulb camera.. Good picture.. Eay to set up and use.. Love that it has pan and zoom.. Plus its waterproof so esp great for outside use

Well made but i wish you didn’t have to create an account to use it on your local network. I don’t like the idea of a company being able to access my camera.
