How many would you need for a mobile home? Also have they been proven to work in trailers?

Yes, these are designed for places like trailers and many of our customers buy them for mobile homes. In fact, grandpa gus has a 100% old-time handshake money-back guarantee. One of these 10 pks should do for a bedroom/kitchen/bathroom.

I worry if this will kill birds if put by my bushes??

If the birds even come near it, they will be deterred by the scent. However, this dod nothing to repel the mice in and around my home.

What is the stuffing inside made of?

The pouches seem to have mix of different herbs and a very pleasant smell to them. The spray is very pleasant as well. The below is a clip from their web site.

8oz’s of double-potency formula is tough on mice. Most spray repellents use only peppermint at less than 1% concentration. Grandpa gus’s use 7% peppermint and cinnamon to repel mice and stop them from chewing…

Both our dog and my sons dog has not been temped to even chew these pouches they go to them and sniff and walk away. They claim on the web site https://www.grandpagus.com/ that they are pet friendly.

Yet the product keep mice away for sure in my case no sign as yet in my 5th wheel, shop or house.

What is the oil placed upon in the bags????? Is it organic…sawdust, etc ?

I do not know the answer. But i will say the stuff seems to work! I plop the bags around my horse feed room and where i keep the chicken feed and i swear i haven’t seen any mice. I ‘refreshed’ and bought new ones at one point because i think they work!

Does this work for cockroaches

Well, i can say that i haven’t had a single cockroach in the rv.

Will it work in a camper stored out in the cold

We bought our first camper this year. My cousin has a 30ft camper and has used grandpa gus for 2 or 3 years. No mice!
So on his recommendation i bought some. While away camping for a month we came home to mice in our cabin, everywhere! I threw out about 5 pouches and they are gone! I couldn’t believe it! Sold me and ‘grandpa’ is heading to the camper now!

Can tou buy this in bulk?

Underneath the price on this page is a “view promotional deals” drop down. Click on that and you can see bulk discounts

I have a cat, is it cat friendly? Pepperment oil known not to be good for pets.

I have 3 cats and it isn’t an issue with mine because i use it in my sweater drawers and closet shelves. Also i use the spray in the dresser drawers to keep mice from chewing my towels for guests that visit. In the closet everything is too high for them and i keep the doors closed.

If i place it in a bag in a cabinet in the kitchen will it repel out of the whole kitchen or just that cabinet?

It is recommended for small areas such as a cabinet, closet or pantry. – grandpa gus and (quik solve sellers)

Do these pouches help absorb odors left by mice?

I don’t believe so the purpose is that the mice don’t like the smell so it repels them to come into that space.

Is this product safe to use multiple bags up in attic? Attic is very hot. Gets above 120 degrees fahrenheit. How many bags can you use in attic? Will?

I’m guessing it depends on the size of the attic. To me the only concern about the number of bags used would be if the scent gets into the house itself. It’s not a bad scent at all but i would imagine it could get overpowering at some level. I’d say pick a number and put them up there then adjust accordingly.

Will the mouse repellant pouches also help keep squirrels away from getting into the car’s engine?

I’m not sure but i had a squirrel problem too. I used “sheriff rodent” spray. So far no activity. Gus’ pouches smell good.

Will this work for a hot tub?

Possibly. It may loose its odor quickly if its outside. We stuffed all the visible holes of our hottub with steel wool.

Is this product flammable? Is it safe to put in a storage draw under my stove?

The pouch is. But it is safe to put under your stove.

Do these mouse/rat repellents work on voles (with a v)?

We wouldn’t recommend it. These are for indoor use with mice only. Every rodent has a different sensory system. – grandpa gus (and quik solve sellers)

Can i use this in an attic?

Probably. The bags are somewhat small, so you would need to use multiple bags for an attic.

My house is just under 1000 sq ft how many would i need?

I always have more on hand that i need. You don’t need them in every room. Do you need them in areas where they will be attracted to food. Behind your stove, under your sink, in cupboards with boxes of dry goods. If they say put one packet i put more. The smell is refreshing and not grotesque. I would buy two packs of 10 to begin with because you have to change them a couple times during the months where mice want into your apartment.

Will it work on possum?

Probably not. It doesn’t even work on mice.

Is this a product that i could hang or place somewher insdie my engine compartment? The rodents got into some of the engine insulation and made a bed

I liked the smell and yes you could hang it, but it didn’t stop mice, from doing anything they wanted

Will this work on keeping bats out in an attic

It didnt work for the mice so not sure about bats

Works

This is the 2nd year i am using this product. I have dogs so it very important to have something safe. If you like cinnamon you will like the smell. Only thing is you must replace every 30 days.

It works!

I have used this for several years to keep critters out of a family vacation cabin that is closed up during winter. So easy to simply drop packets on the floor, i generally place them near doorways. E find the smell rather pleasant.

5Expert Score
These work

I have used grandpa gus’s for several years. I put them in my shed because the mice would leave droppings everywhere over the winter. I have not found them since using this product. I also put them in the garage for the same reason, and it has worked well there, too.

5Expert Score
They work

My friend bought these for her small house and one set of grandpa gus’ worked for her. I am in a 2 flat with a basement and it takes at least 3 sets of the packets to keep the mice away.

Works

I had some mice take residence in my second vehicle that i use a few times a week. I park this vehicle close to the woods so it was easy for the mice to make a home. After using this product the rodents have vacated the vehicle. The smell when first opening the package is strong but pleasant. I put about three of these into my car. One in the glove box, on in the back seat area and the last in the trunk. Works great.

Effective

Used this last year for the 1st time. No evidence of mice at all. I truly hate those little creatures coming into the house. Living in the country makes it a battle every fall/winter. Purchased again this year. Satisfied customer.

Seems to work

Did you know that many cars have soy-based coating on wiring that rats/mice love? Who knew? My repair shop suggested this product – so far no evidence of critters – ugh – in my garage.

Grandpa gus' is a permanent part of our pest protection plan.

Packaging was simple and effective.
Grandpa gus’ helped rid us of field mice when our camping neighbor decided to stop feeding birds half way through the summer. The mice had become accustomed to the birds making a mess of the feed. When that food source was no longer provided. The mice found their way in the surrounding rvs looking for food. Grandpa gus’ helped chase them away.

Perhaps my mice are different

Sorry, grandpa gus – perhaps connecticut mice are different, but here’s my story. I have a 2004 toyota rav4 that sits outside under the trees and is used infrequently during the summer. Both last summer and this summer, i could hear one or two mice in the headliner of the car when i got in, running around over my head. When i banged on the headliner, they would move around. This year, i suddenly had lots of weird electrical issues, and the toyota dealer had to drop the headliner to get at the source of the problem. Five wires had their insulation chewed off and had shorted. There were four mouse nests in the headliner and two in the inside rear quarter panel. Apparently, this is not the first time the toyota guys have seen the issue, and they did not have a solution to the problem. The toyota guys had my car for two days to do the repairs (dropping the headliner is a major job) and it cost me $760. Obviously, i had a real incentive to solve this problem, so i turned to amazon and read reviews of mouse repellents. At the time, grandpa gus had 7 reviews that were all 5-star, so i purchased a package of 4 pouches, putting 1 pouch under the front seat and 1 pouch on top of the battery, which is a dry area near the cabin air filter and frequently a point of entry for mice. Two days later, i drove the car to home depot and was disappointed to hear a mouse in the headliner when i got back to my car in the parking lot. I theorized that the grandpa gus odor was not getting from the interior of the car into the headliner, so i dropped the overhead light in the front of the headliner and shoved a grandpa gus into the headliner itself…..and then placed another order on amazon for four more pouches. That enclosed headliner space is a pretty small volume for its own pouch, so i was optimistic. Unfortunately, the mouse continued to run around in the headliner for the next three days, after which i removed the grandpa gus pouch from the headliner and put two small, perforated plastic bags filled with cotton balls that had been injected with ‘majestic pure peppermint essential oil’ that i also purchased on amazon – that product had the second highest rating on amazon as a mouse repellent. The grandpa gus pouches were still on top of my battery and under the seat. For the next three days, i banged on the headliner and was pleased that there were no mice running around over my head. On the third day, i opened the back door and was surprised to see a tiny mouse inside the car! I tried to quickly throw the trunk liner out the rear door but the mouse ran under the seat – right at the pouch of grandpa gus. I put two mouse traps inside the car and proceeded to capture that tiny mouse along with 3 of his/her siblings – no mama or papa mice; just small baby mice, like the one in the photo. The peppermint scent apparently had driven the small mice out of the headliner into the interior of the car, where grandpa gus proved to be totally ineffective. I feel bad writing a negative review because the grandpa gus folks followed up both of my orders with a nice e-mail with suggestions for pouch placement and an offer for me to call them anytime if i had a problem. Perhaps grandpa gus works for large mice (mama and papa size), but it certainly didn’t work for the baby mice in my car. I really didn’t see any reason to call them for help. Basically, there were at least 4 small mice living inside the interior of a 2004 toyota rav4, which is a fairly small car, along with a pouch of grandpa gus. I will remove the grandpa gus from under the seat and on top of the battery and replace it with perforated plastic bags of cotton balls that had been injected with ‘majestic pure peppermint essential oil.’ on a positive note, the odor from the grandpa gus pouches is fine to live with. Unfortunately, the mice seem to have the same favorable opinion of the grandpa gus odor.

Update 7/6/17 – i revised my rating from 1-star to 4-star based solely on excellent customer support. After i posted my initial review, i was contacted by nick at grandpa gus, concerned that their product did not work in my situation. We exchanged a couple of e-mails so that nick could better understand my situation. Without my asking, nick offered to refund the cost for my two purchases, and he promptly took care of that refund. Because i wrote in my initial review that the peppermint scent has been working in my car, nick also offered to send me, free of charge, a grandpa gus spray product (‘grandpa gus’s natural mouse rodent repellent – peppermint oil for mice & rat control’) because it includes peppermint oil as one of its ingredients. Although that product arrived today, it will be a few weeks before i can give this new product a fair test, and i don’t know whether or not it will work in my situation. However, regardless of whether or not it works, i increased my rating to a 4-star review to reflect the excellent customer support nick provided. This is probably the first time in my life that i have ever been contacted by a supplier, offering to refund my money without my asking and to supply a replacement product for free, simply because they want satisfied customers. I initially purchased the product because of good amazon reviews, so it obviously works well for some people. If you combine that success for most customers with their superior customer support, how can you go wrong by giving this product a try?
