Hot Shot HG-95789 Roach Killer, 6 Count (Pack of 1), Brown/a

Being in an apartment i get roaches no matter how clean i am. This appears to be working since i’ve seen only 2 or 3 in the kitchen since putting them out. In all fairness, i am using three different products and it’s hard to say which one is most effective. Spraying by maintenance is useless and i had to take steps to combat the infestation.

Had some roach problems toward the end of summer. Or as the southerners call them ‘water bugs’. Put these at the doors and in the kitchen. Never saw them interact with it but started finding them feet up around the house. So it surely worked!

While it won’t kill all, it’ll definitely kill a lot and the nest. Myself, i preferably use sticky traps to catch as many as possible but the little ones just won’t get trapped but with this liquid gel it definitely gets all of them. Its very effective at getting nests, definitely saving thus one for next time.

The thing that really sets this product apart from other roach killers, other than it working, is that you can see that it’s working – you can see the liquid noticeably decrease as the roaches partake and dead roaches lying around shortly after. I started with combat bait stations, but these didn’t seem to eliminate the problem (at least not totally) and i also couldn’t tell if they were even taking the bait. I then added these liquid bait stations and the problem resolved shortly after that. Success! Fast forward a few years later and i had a roach infestation that was really out of hand, they were coming up from the kitchen sink and i could see them day and night around the kitchen and scouting out the bathroom and bedroom too. I put back out the liquid bait stations and also the combat bait stations for good measure, but the problem just continued. I decided to add combat roach gel and also sticky glue traps to the mix, both of which were well reviewed on amazon. I have no clue if the combat roach gel worked, some of the reviews said you could see the roaches nibble on it or maybe see a bit gone from where you applied the gel, but i saw none of that. All the gel applications seemed untouched. People were saying they were seeing results immediately, but i didn’t… The sticky glue traps didn’t catch more than 2-3 roaches total, and 2 of those weren’t even on a baited trap. The roaches didn’t go for the bait included with the trap, or sugar water, or nut butter, or sugary fruit jam… But they kept sipping away at these liquid baits. Anyway, the problem eventually resolved, and i’m not sure what exact product or combo solved the problem, but the only thing that i could visibly see that the roaches were partaking was this liquid bait. That, to me, sets this product apart.

Got this because i felt like the traps i had before weren’t working and i wanted to try something else. I think i made a great choice with buying this! I put them around the house and within a day or two i didn’t see any! These work great!

This has worked so great. After about 2 weeks of using i haven’t seen 1 roach. I used these in addition to the little glue boxes. After 2 weeks there weren’t even any in the little roach motels. Awesome product that works.

This stuff works great, i am constantly annoyed by roaches. Not a lot but i know if i see one, there’s probably many more and i can’t stand them.
I keep my home fairly clean, but the entire neighbourhood seem to be infested, and since i live in a row home, i’m in constant battle with them.
I have tried several different roach sprays, baits and gels and decided to try this. I didn’t have much confidence that it would work so i only bought one pack. But about three hours after i put them out i saw two roaches and they were moving very slowly. I grabbed the raid and sprayed them and they were too sick to run. They just stood there and died. Now that’s what i’m talking about. And yes, i’m buying some more.

I am going to track my progress every day so readers know what to expect. So i will update my review as i go!

Day 1 laid out traps: this brought a ton of roaches out. Where i put traps roaches are showing up even in the daytime.

Day 3. So far these traps are drawing tons of roaches out into my kitchen even during the day. It’s like the stuff draws them by smell.

I have not seen many dead yet or reduce in number. The box says it kills them fast but since it kills the eggs too i’m thinking maybe it takes a few minutes?

It’s so far very gross to see them everywhere. But i can tell they are eating the stuff as the liquid is less. On one trap where there aren’t many it’s not going down as fast.

Day 5: i saw a few roaches die. Took the tops off in case they just couldn’t get in.
What i have noticed is the traps repel the roaches now and they have started to leave.
First saw one in my living room, then one in the bathroom on the other side of my home.

Now it seems i am not seeing them as much.

It’s like it drew them to the traps then suddenly they catch on that it’s poison and instead of seeing them i’m not seeing any.

I will update in 5 more days. If the traps simply repel them then this explains why the success of many & why the other person who trapped a roach with it never touched the stuff.

Two week update: i got up at night a few times and had to spray down the kitchen the roaches were so bad they were dropping from the ceiling.

Last night i got up and saw a total of 5 adult.

I do believe it has killed all of the baby roaches and eggs as the box says.

It has been a full month now. Are the roaches completely gone? No. Are there less yes. I used to see like 20-30 at night. Now it’s more like 2-4.

Clearly it works but takes time. I will continue to put these out until the problem is totally gone.

I also continued with roach spray at night to get any i saw. The good news are most now are the adult ones, which could mean it did what it said and killed the nests.

Update: i used gentrol stickers and these traps. Took a week and they are now all gone

I first bought this roach killer years ago mainly because it wasn’t made by combat. My logic was, combat has been making the same trap for years and they haven’t seem to work lately. I figured most roaches are probably immune to their bait by now so why not try some new things from a new company.

this is a water-based bait designed to kill big and small roaches alike, along with their eggs. The idea is that roaches need to drink too, and what better way to get rid of them than to poison their water supply? Roaches come to drink, get poisoned, and die; or they go back to their nest to die and get eaten by other roaches who get secondary poisoning.

— effectiveness —
yes, you’ll see a whole bunch of roaches at first. But that’s a good thing. It means they’re attracted to the bait. And then they’ll all be dead and non-reappearing very soon.

as someone who overdoes things, i also supplement this bait with advion roach gels.

every time i move to a new place, i place these traps a week before i move in so that there are no roaches to greet me. Highly recommended.

In old nyc buildings there’s just no true escape from roaches. I was noticing a problem in our kitchen, especially at night. It was consistent over a few nights in a row. Put these out and was shocked that it worked in one day! I’ve only seen one roach since i put these out.

Taking the tabs out is a bit messy, so do over the sink. And yes the design is a little flimsy but we make sure to put them where they won’t get bumped.

We put two near the sink, one under the sink cabinet and one in a base cabinet near the sink. (avoiding spots my cat could get at.)

very relieved they worked! And so much better than spray which is nasty and makes me sick.

I like that this product is small and is able to fit anywhere. I have not seen any insects yet. Not sure if that’s because of the weather or these but i’d recommend purchasing some and using it in your cabinets.

So, i need you guys to know that your stuff works on cockroaches…..but the
device is pretty strangely built/hard to use and set in place. Also, it evaporates as well as feeding them.

Saw a few cockroaches around my house and where there is one there are lots more. Put these out and have not seen roaches since. So seems to be working.

Works well but mine run out within three weeks.

Killing nasty critters

So far product is working really well, i put them out were i have been noticing cockroaches right before i left for work and i came home from work 8 1/2 hours later and found dead cockroaches in my kitchen so it is a very effective product, probably with a product like this patience is a virtue.

Even though the liquid seems to be gone in a week , but usually only need to set it out once a year.

Though its great to keep the cockroach aways for a few days, they keep coming back after …

Everything was fine

It helps but you need something stronger to kill roaches.
