Indoor Security Camera 2K, Galayou Pet Camera, 360 Degree WiFi Home Security Camera for Baby/Elder/Nanny with Night Vision, Siren, 24/7 SD Card Storage, Works with Alexa and Google Assistant G2

The g2 indoor camera is a compact unit that stands about 11.5 cm high (4.5′). The bottom half is a round base that can be clicked in place into an included mounting plate that can be screwed down. The top half is a round ball shape with a window that houses the actual camera (front) and speaker (back). In use, the ball part rotates left or right under app command, and camera inside looks up and down through the windows as the ball rotates. In this way the camera can look all around. Rotational coverage is good, the camera can look 355 degrees around out of 360. And 52 degrees up and down. The camera provides a wide angle 95 degree view and in a typical room you can see the entire room by controlling the camera. When using the movement console in the app, pressing a movement arrow once causes the camera to move an increment. Holding the movement button down makes the camera pan around smoothly. There is a slight whirrr as the camera moves but it is not distracting. You can also set a preferred home position if you have a need to have the camera return to the same view all the time.

The camera has a microphone and a speaker that you can turn on of off. You can capture snapshots or videos. The camera runs on 5 volts. The camera body has a usb c socket, and you get a usb c to usb a cable in the box that’s about 1.5 meters long (about 5′). The g2 requires a 2.5 ghz wifi connection. It will not work on 5 ghz.

The box states the camera is a 2k camera. That is defined as a video resolution of 2560×1440 with a 4mp camera. It offers both sd (standard) and fhd (high def) modes. Sd streams at about 22 kb/sec and fhd streams at about 90 kb/second. The images in fhs are quite a bit better than sd. See the attached snapshots.

Images and recordings can be saved to micro sd card (which is not included). The micro sd card slot is normally hidden. You rotate the camera up as far as it goes to reveal the card slot. It will take a micro sd card up to 128gb.

The g2 is very easy to set up. Put the wansview app on your phone and it displays a qr code. Allow the g2 to look at the qr code on the phone and the camera voice announces success and setup is done. Super easy. I have already added the wansview cloud alexa skill to my alexa system, and the g2 appeared on alexa automatically without doing anything.

The g2 includes an ac adapter, camera mounting plate with screws, camera unit with non-skid pads, drilling template, plastic wall anchors, quick install guide and usb cable. It’s a very complete kit. It is an excellent camera for the money, good features and very easy to use. Indoor only, though, as it is not weatherproof in any way.

I bought this camera to monitor our front porch and alert us when someone was about to knock or ring the doorbell, thereby allowing us to see them before deciding whether or not to open the door. I originally purchased a ring doorbell from amazon for $75 along with an echoshow for this purpose but was very disappointed with the ring doorbell. It was difficult to install and would require an additional purchase of a mounting device to provide tilt so we could see the visitor’s face, and the curvature of the image was extreme and distorted. So, i returned it but kept the echoshow, then ordered this galayou camera for only $30. Installation was amazingly easy; download the wansview cloud app to my iphone, register an account with an email and password, add the g2 camera, and it was up and running in less than 5 minutes. My wife then downloaded the app on her phone and i added her to the network through the “invite family members” app feature and so she can monitor the front porch on her smartphone too. I put the camera on the window sash in our dining room overlooking the front porch (see photos), and the image quality is excellent! The app has many easy-to-use features that allowed me to rotate and tilt the camera for the best view; select a subset of the full image to trigger the audible alert and recording feature and even adjust its sensitivity, thereby insuring only visitors set it off and not cars passing by or people walking on the sidewalk. Now it instantly starts recording when an alert occurs and the recording is saved on my phone, so i can watch it later and show to the police if ever necessary. Importantly, the lag time is imperceptible on my iphone 13 and is much less than 1 second but is almost 5 seconds on the echoshow. Not sure why the big difference – maybe processor speed of new iphone is much faster than the echoshow? Anyway, the iphone is the preferred viewing device because we can be anywhere and still see and record who comes to my front door. I also like our mounting location because the camera can easily be moved to another location if we want, and it can’t be stolen either. However, the drawback for us is the window glass shows reflections at night (but only at night) which muddles the image, but if you are using it to view indoors at say a pet or nanny then you don’t have to worry about this. Bottom line: the galayou camera at $30 is an amazing deal, considering its numerous features and image quality, and installation and setup is very fast and easy.

This monitoring camera is very good to keep an eye on your house in case you have small children or pets, since you can see the video (and pan in every direction) and audio in real time. Works great also as a security camera because it has night vision and motion detection, sending alerts to your phone, besides you can put it wherever you want in your house or office since it’s compact.

Camera feels sturdy and materials of very good quality, as is the usb cable and adapter that is included, i like the product doesn’t feel cheap or like a toy. Pairing both cams and setup was easy, you just need to download the app and follow the steps, keep in mind only works with 2.4ghz network. Within the app you can rotate the camera to pan in virtually any direction, as well as configure motion detection settings (schedules, sensitivity, and even the area to monitor) so you can create a schedule so that it does not alert you if there is movement while you are at home for example. I also like the fact that it can be wall mounted, i have one of the cameras mounted on a partition wall and keep the other in my child’s room.

Image quality is clear, night vision is excellent, sound is ok, and works as an intercom too. For the price range i would say it is one of the best options, great value since you get a well built camera with a ton of features, works reliable and you are not forced to buy a cloud plan to get motion detection features working.

I saw this camera and was attracted to it by its low cost. It has a small formfactor, so it doesn’t take up much space. It includes a usb power adapter that supplies 5v at 1 amp. The camera has a usb type c port which is something that we love to see. To control this device, you must use the wansview cloud application. This is a bit annoying if you are concerned about the security of your iot devices.

The pairing process was simple and fast. I was easily able to get the device to work. Note: it only supports 2.4ghz wi-fi. Once setup, you are able to view the camera. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the camera. It has quite a bit of detail. It is also quite responsive. The delay between movement and display of movement is very low. However, there is a strangeish white halo effect around some objects, but that isn’t a big deal. The microphone quality isn’t going to win any awards, but it adequately performs. You are able to hear what is going on in the surroundings just fine. It also features a speaker that sounds pretty good. The camera also features ptz. Through the app, this isn’t the greatest. It works, however it can be a little clunky at times. This is something that can be fixed through software. Night vision is good. You can see what’s going on even when the room is dark.

It also supports onvif and rtsp. Both features i love. I was able to integrate it with home assistant and have a view of my camera from there. It also exposes a motion sensor to home assistant which allows for motion based automations. Very nice.

I would like to see a longer power cable, but that is something i can always buy from somewhere else. Also, i would really like to be able to statically set the ip of the camera through the app, but for some reason this isnt allowed. Should be an option.

Overall, this camera is good for its price.

Received this product about 3 months ago. Completed set up after receiving. Setup process was easy and rapid. Process was similar to other products that require qr code scan to add to network. Recognition was quick. Must use 2,4ghz network as with most similar devices. The wansview app is easy to use. I have used it for years for different devices and there are occasional useful feature updates, so support is there unlike some off-brand apps.

Image quality is solid. Sound and talk-back is good quality when compared with similar devices. Can set and save viewing positions in app and/or scan live as needed. Monition sense is sensitive, but too much.
Even without a subscription videos are saved for a few days prior to deletion. This is ample time for review in most cases. Videos may be shared too. With cloud subscription, storage goes up significantly, but i did not use this option. You are also able to store locally via microsd slot under the lens.

Overall, good quality, good functionality, good value. Cannot miss for an affordable pan/tilt, talk-back featured wifi camera.

I purchased this camera to keep a better eye on my fur babies when we took our first over night trip away from home. Worked better than i expected. It has such a wide view advantage. It’s nice to be able to have one camera that i can use to see all the way through 2, almost 3 rooms of my house. Our animals did fantastic. Plus we had peace of mind because each time we felt the need, we were able to check on them and reassured ourselves. Thus providing us with a better vacation experience. I highly recommend. I surfed through numerous different brands, variations and price ranges. I’m planning on buying one for my daughter for christmas and another one for my house too! I’ve also been very pleased with the customer service. Having had emails and contact from the company that makes these wonderful little cameras. 10 out of 10 in my book!

Super easy set up. I think it took less than a minute after unboxing. All supplies are there including cords and screws for wall-mounting. I don’t have it mounted on the wall, but rather in an inconspicuous place in my office. I was interested in this camera because i’ve noticed things ‘missing’ when i’m not at work. Now if i’m out and about, i can log in and view what’s going on. The system alerts me to movement and i found the area feature (where you can pick what view) super helpful because i don’t need it all – only the door really. Every movement is automatically recorded and saved. You can upgrade (for a great price!) to keep longer recordings in the cloud, but i have not done that. The camera was ready to connect as soon as i plugged it in and downloaded the app. The app walks you through exactly what to do making it really easy. I have only used this for about 2 weeks, but no glitches. I would think this would be really helpful with pets alone and out of town traveling. You can log in from anywhere and see what is going on. It’s a very cute camera and small – perfect for corners and shelves. The price is good for peace of mind. You can talk through the camera (which i’ve only tested, but really used to scare anyone) and a siren built again (again, i don’t want to scare anyone) which i thought was handy. The picture is clear and you can zoom to get a closer shot if you need. You can position it in many different ways through the app to get the best angle without actually physically moving the camera. So far, this camera works very well and i am happy!

We are now in a world where you can secure your house and property with an inexpensive security camera. There are a ton of more expensive ones out there (a few of which i’ve purchased and not all of which are necessarily better) but this galayou g2 camera, for under $30, is quite good and what i need. When i buy a camera, the main thing for me hands down is how well (and far) it picks up my wifi signal. And this camera does that without issue. And the fact that it can pan the entire room up and down and all around is even better. The second thing for me is that it has to have sd card availability. I do not want to have to pay yet another ‘cloud’ service. This does have that availability but a card is not included, which for the price is understandable. It does come with the obligatory mounting kit. Set up to wifi couldn’t be easier and it utilizes the wansview cloud app which is a no better or worse app than most of them. A very good unit for a minimally priced camera. Indoors only though.

I had to receive help in getting set up, but the customer service was absolutely amazing!!

So, now that i have been able to use the cameras this is my official review 🙂
the picture quality is pretty decent. We have an exterior surveillance camera set up already, and it doesn’t stand up to these cameras. We got these for inside monitoring.
I like that i can set an alert time so that my phone is blown up during our active hours in the house.
It is also nifty to be able to move the camera using the app, to look around the room.

I am highly considering buying more for other rooms in the house!

I bought these to keep an eye on my dogs when im not home. The quality is great pretty clear. The night vision also looks great. The two way audio is slightly lagging maybe 10 second lag. Ive also been told when the audio comes through the camera it doesn’t really sound human, more robotic. I haven’t heard it myself but my boyfriend said it sounded weird not like me. It doesn’t matter to me, my dogs don’t recognize my voice but i don’t usually talk to them just use the camera to keep an eye on them when im away. I have talked to my little sister through it and she didn’t seem scared by how it sounded. Occasionally it will disconnect im not sure if thats on my part or the camera but it isn’t a bug enough issue for me to return it. Overall great cameras for under 100$

I am replacing my wyze cam v2 with this camera. I am already using the outdoor version of this camera (y4) and wanted to try it and sure enough it did not disappoint. The installation and set up was very easy, just follow the instructions, within 2 minutes the camera was online and up and running. The video quality is very good, you can use either the sd mode or the higher definition fhd. Images and recording can be saved to micro sd card ( not included) but i did not try. I am using rtsp with the blue iris software and it is working very well. In the setting, go to the local application and under the rtsp see the url you need to define in the camera configuration on the blue iris side. This feature alone is worth buying this camera. The pan and tilt feature works very well, you can change the camera view, up and down and turn around with the wansview app. There is a slight buzzing sound as the camera moves but not loud enough to bother you. The app works very well and very intuitive. Overall i am very pleased with this camera with no issues at all but only been using it for 2 weeks. Only time will show the camera’s quality but i will update review if anything changes. Again overall i recommend this camera specially if you are looking for the rtsp feature.

I have had two of these. The first one i ordered would not pair with my wi-fi. A fail. So i returned it for replacement. The second immediately paired with my wi-fi. It detects daytime motion, and produces a good daytime picture, but the night picture is awful. It is obscured by a white fog across the screen(see pictures). 2 cameras, 2 failures.
Galayou-store customer service has been very responsive. Their suggestions on how to fix the problem did not help. So they offered a refund or reimbursement. Awesome customer service. 1 star for malfunctioning cameras. 5 stars for customer service. If they send me something that works, i will update this review.

galayou-store customer service sent me a new g2 camera at their expense. This is so unexpected, and i am grateful. It paired immediately with my wi-fi, and works fine in both daylight and night modes. I am amazed at how accountable they are and responsive to a camera issue. Because of their customer service, i would 100% buy from them again!!

I bought this so that i can check on my birds when i’m not at home. They can hear me talking to them when i’m at work and they don’t get so lonely. The night vision works great too, the motion detection goes off constantly if the tv is in its sight, so i end up with a ton of video i didn’t really need. The alarm is super loud my neighbors could hear it. Overall i am happy with my purchase!

I like the camera but i do have a few things that could be different. I bought 2 sd cards for the camera but i have to “buy” storage for it to save to the sd cards ? When i press record without buying the storage the video saves to my actual phone which isn’t going to work because i don’t have enough storage to save a 10 hour video of what is going on at home while i’m at work. Also the app should give the option for 2 people to log in at once . When im logged in and my husband logs in right after it logs me out.. Other than that the camera is pretty decent but ill have to see about buying storage then i guess

The camera is easy to use and to set up the picture quality is good we use it to watch are dog while we are away the only issue is when you they to talk through the camera the audio is delayed and sometimes is unrecognizable what they are trying to say

These cameras are pretty good. Better for use indoor. Ir night vision limits behind window use due to the glare. I am enjoying the reliability of the app. Other product apps had too many issues. I am still learning how to use these cameras but they are good ones so far.

Camera visual quality is quite good. Nice interface as well. Only problem i’ve encountered is the motion detection. I toggled it to high sensitivity and it has trouble capturing basic motions (eg pet moving in front of cam). Sometimes it sends me a notification sometimes it doesn’t (i made sure my notification types were in line as well).

This camera works as it should. Records and playback is great on sd. Night vision is clear. Seem slow to respond for on demand camera moving. Also, maybe i got a bad one, but the power block interferes with garage remote. Once plugged in my garage remote no longer controls the garage door. I plugged in a different one to power the camera and garage and cam works.

Has to be the perfect distance from your modem and does lag but for the price, does what it’s supposed to and picture is great. Giving it more time
