Purchased this ice maker after several failed attempts by appliance repairmen to fix our refrigerator’s ice maker. So far the luma has worked as advertised. The ice cubes are clear, and the machine makes a lot of ice. I was surprised how quickly it made the first batch, much faster than our refrigerator’s ice maker ever did even when it was working properly. Too new to comment on the luma’s longevity, but so far it works great.

This was a gift to my son and grand daughters. They are very pleased with the quality of ice produced…

Great little unti, well designed and makes superior cubes. They look good in your drink, stay frozen longer and don’t take away the canonization as quickly. Doesn’t take up a lot of room.

I have had ice makers for the last 5 years. While all have done ok, this one is the champ! It was easy to set up. *make sure to read the instructions before turning on. There is a way to make your ice thicker!*.

I was skeptical about the speed of ice production, but if anything, it was under promised and over delivered. The ice is clear and tasty and the maker can produce more ice in an hour than any other ice machine i have.

I had an older bullet ice machine before this and between that and my refrigerator’s dual ice machine my family was always running out of ice.

Now, i bag ice and keep it in my garage freezer for back up but i doubt i will ever need it.

When it’s time for party’s or bbq’s i just start bagging ice a couple days before and i am able to fill up two ice chests and still have plenty of ice for cocktails.

It may not produce sonic or crunch ice that we all love so much, but this bad boy get’s the job done.

Don’t waste $500 on one of those machines you saw on instagram. Get this one!

This replaces a same type maker that i bought years ago and finally wore out. I think this is the same manufacturer. It is larger and has more features than my old one. It is fast and makes beautiful clear cubes. I had ordered a different maker that i returned. It made ‘bullets ‘, were white color because they were full of air and melted rapidly. I am sure i will have years of use with this ice maker. Great ice maker…perfect!

Easy to use, super easy to clean. Keeps up with the daily demands of our family of 4. This is our 2nd luma comfort ice maker – and last samsung fridge.

I purchased this in june 2017 and i absolutely love it. We have a lot of large parties at our house and this little machine has kept up with all our needs. I do not use it on a daily bases so i am not sure how it would hold up to that kind of use. I was hesitant to purchase this at first due to other reviews but i am glad i went with my gut instinct. If you do go ahead with this machine be sure to let it sit for at least a few hours before turning it on. This will let the coolant settle and will produce better ice with less problems in the beginning. I let mine sit for 24 hours before using it. Also, i always press and hold the on button for at least 15 seconds before starting my ice making. In my opinion, this creates the thickest and best ice. I have tried it by just pressing the on button and letting the machine do it’s thing. This way also makes good ice but not as thick. I have even run this machine for two days straight to make ice to use in our coolers for the parties, it works but i have a hard time keeping the ice frozen due to not having a spare freezer or room in mine. I would say the specs are right on and produces around 28 lbs of ice per day. I have tried a few different things to get more ice out of it in a day but with no prevail. I use tap water to make the ice and clean it with white vinegar and water when i know i won’t use it for a while. It makes perfectly clear ice for me. I only had a problem with fog with first few batches when i first got the machine and that’s because i didn’t clean it properly when i first opened it up. The drain is on the back end of the machine and it allows all the water from the bottom ice storage to drain. After contacting customer service (whom are extremely helpful and will even call you back if they don’t know the answer) explained the machine has to be at least plugged in to drain the top water storage. The luma comfort works perfect for my needs and i am sure you will be very happy with your purchase if you choose this ice machine.

Our built in ice maker broke and we didn’t want to sink more money into our already pricey fridge that we have repaired a couple times already so we decided to get this instead and it works great and fast. It makes beautiful clear ice and you can control the thickness. I can run it for a few hours and fill my freezer’s ice bin. Totally worth it. Photo shows about 1 hours worth

She loves it! It makes ice quickly and when using bottled water, there is not metallic taste and ice is clear.

Have had a month or so but has done all that said it would – only 2 of us in the household – our fridge ice maker ‘died’ couple years ago so we were purchasing bags of ice & filling the bin as need; being the year round ice tea fanatic, take a jug with me every time leave house… This was a pain – #1, remembering to buy extra bag; #2, cost keeps rising.. Read up on different brands, ratings, pros and cons & on prime day did it for us, luna was 1st on my list! Usually run maker 1-2 times a week, bag up as becomes available, put in freezer. Like the larger cube option (of course not as big of cubes as store bought bags), clear ice is great, very quick to make ice after the 1st bin-full, and with the ‘insulated holding bin’ doesn’t immediately melt if i’m out of room when bin full light comes on. It’s very quiet, easy to set up and go. As stated, so far, it’s great, maybe 6mos down the road it might not be but will revise this post if needed. Just saw the ‘flavor’ rating – there’s none even with regular tap water – we are lucky to have great water where we are…

Ice from this machine is much better than what i’ve gotten from other machines. Do yourself a favor though; ditch the flimsy plastic scoop that it (and all the other ice makers) and get a metal one. The plastic is practically useless when you have to break the cubes apart.

My family moved and we are living in an airbnb as we search for a house. Our freezer in the airbnb isn’t too big so we were buying bags of ice and using a cooler; that was adding up fast and i had looked at this before so i decided to buy immediately. Shipping and delivery were great and, after listing it sit upright for 2 hours i added water and began to make ice. This really produces a lot of ice. Overall, i am pleased.

By removing one star is because the ice cones out in blocks and you need to break it up. Also, it isn’t set it and forget it, you have to constantly make sure it isn’t jammed up. One morning i awoke to lots of water in the ice cavity and little ice. Overnight it might have run out of water but it didn’t use the water in the cavity before stopping.

For best performance, follow the instructions on letting it sit, wiping it down, etc. Refill the water every night, or every other night, and break up the ice every so often. It is a good buy and i will see how long it lasts.

The machine works great at making ice and keeping it frozen inside the machine when it fills up with ice. When you take ice out it starts making ice again right away. The only complaint is that even when i set it for thicker ice, the ice is actually the same. Otherwise very pleased.

Makes great ice and doesn’t leak after a few weeks like the 5 other less expensive ones i’ve owned. The ice cubes don’t separate in the tray. I pretty much leave it running 24×7.

I had mixed feelings about this machine but it turned out okay. It does make clear ice however the ice is very thin and melts very quick. Then i found out if you hold the on button down for five or so seconds when starting it it will make thicker ice. Thats the only way i run it now. I would prefer it to make the ice even thicker but i’m sure there is a reason for that. Second issue was the water pump. It started screeching after the second day. I read in the reviews this was an issue and being a plumber i purchased a replacement 12 volt pump on amazon. But after taking the back off the ice maker its run flawlessly ever since. Maybe it runs cooler this way causing the water pump not to overheat is my best guess. Next, this thing is pretty noisy. The cooling fan rattles with the vibration of the compressor which stops when you push on it with your finger but i’m not going to stand there for hours. And that brings me to the last thing, time. If you hold the start button to make the thicker, which should be it’s default because thin ice sucks, it takes about 15 minutes per cycle. It takes about 8 cycles to fill the bin so if you want to fill a bag for a party you better start two days in advance! This ice maker is okay if your willing to work with it. And i also found out you have to leave it plugged it to empty it for storage because of a celinoid valve that needs to be powered on to drain it all the way. If your looking for something that you can leave on all the time and scoop ice as needed like a bar then i would reccomend a larger installed unit like a viking that self feeds and drains. If your rich that is.

I just purchased my third one of these and while i rate it 5 stars, i finally realized that i should also buy the extended service plan. The first one (purchased in 2018) failed within the warranty period and luma provided the necessary repairs under warranty….it is still working post repairs. The second one i purchased for my second home, and it failed out of the warranty period (about 2 years old when it failed). I threw it out and just purchased a replacement for it with the extended warranty. Finally, we also discovered that the only good way to clean the unit internally is to run vinegar through it. You will then have to run several times with water to remove the vinegar taste, but that works fine.

‘ve had this unit for a little over year. This is a good product providing clear iced. The machine does it’s job day in and day out. Recently it stop working. I contacted the company and from day one till end they were extremely helpful. Quickly they agreed to replace the unit even-tough it’s out of warranty. I would recommend this product, makes great crystal clear ice. If you drink expensive liquor such as high end whiskey you must get this machine. As specially the company has great customer service support.

Got this in july 2019, wanted to wait a couple months of use before writing. Having just cleaned it for the first time, i can say this thing works well overall.
It makes nice clear ice (when clean, one way to tell it needs cleaning) and it does it pretty quickly. It keeps up on poker night .
Easy enough to use, we have it slightly under the cabinet so we have to pull it out when we need to refill the water. Would be nice to be able to fill from the front reservoir.
Cleaning is not the easiest but not super difficult, clean out the front filter (easy to access) run some water w/lemon juice through it for a few cycles and rinse. Have to drain the water three times at minimum and it needs to be over a sink or bucket.
After cleaning the ice was crystal clear again.
At $200 it may seem like it is expensive but it makes good ice pretty quickly. If it lasts for a year i say it is worth it. Our last one ($100 one from wally world) didn’t last 6 months.
Will report back if it fails or our opinion changes.

I will be using this periodically to make ice to put in my freezer, and will not run it 24/7 to keep ice in its little bin. The fan is a not exactly quiet, and the noise of the ice falling would need getting used to, so i just run it overnight to make a batch of ice to add to the freezer. I ran it for 10 hours starting with an empty bin, and woke up to the little (1.5l?) bucket full of ice. It used 1/3 kwh i.e. About 10 cents. The ice it makes is somewhat wet because its bin is not a freezer. That wetness tends to clump the ice in my freezer, but it’s easy to break up. So far, this is definitely a better solution than 1) manually filling ice trays or 2) fixing the expensive icemaker on my aged sub-zero.

There’s more to like about this machine than not. I’ve used it about 3 weeks, and so far, it is a keeper.
It makes clear ice, and a lot of it. It’s reasonably quiet. It’s efficient with water use. The ice keeps well in the maker. I wish it made individual cubes, but mine simply will not. The cubes are all connected by a sheet of thin ice. I use a table knife handle to tap the block vigorously, and the cubes break up easily into small blocks of 1-to-3 cubes. I use bottled spring water, as suggested, and the machine remains clean and efficient. Mine is beginning to ‘bark’ periodically, and i suspect the pump shaft is seizing intermittently during the ice making cycle. If so, this will require warranty repair. I had a problem with ice being too thick initially, got a prompt and courteous reply from company representative.
Yes, i would highly recommend this machine. You cannot, imo, get a clear ice cube maker of this quality anywhere near this price point.
