Lume Solid Deodorant Stick – Whole Body Deodorant – Aluminum-Free, Baking Soda-Free, Hypoallergenic, Safe For Sensitive Skin – 2.6 Ounce Solid Stick (Coconut Crush)

I have a fragrance contact allergy to linalool which means that i cannot use anything with natural or artificial fragrance. No botanical oils or extracts at all. In addition, certain chemicals are considered cross reactors and therefore i have to avoid those as well. Add to that my vitamin e (tocopherol) contact allergy and finding a deodorant that is safe for me and actually works is near impossible. I couldn’t use the original unscented cream stick deodorant because while labeled unscented, it’s not actually considered fragrance free due to the aloe leaf juice, isoamyl laurate, lauryl alcohol, sodium benzoate and cocoa butter. Plus it has vitamin e in it.

I use the skinsafe app to find products that are safe for me per my mayo clinic dermatologist. I have tried every safe deodorant and none have worked. Some caused rash despite saying they are safe, but most just don’t work. They may for a couple hours then they stop. Another thing to consider is will it leave white marks or stain clothing (oil stains can be really hard to remove).

The lume unscented/fragrance free solid deodorant recently appeared on my safe list and i jumped to try it. First i want to address the smell because i see people complaining about it smelling like all kinds of weird things such as vinegar, mildew, urine, etc. This product smells nothing like any of those things! Please do not be scared off by those reviews. I have a keen sense of smell since i live a fragrance free life so nothing is dulling my senses. The unscented solid has a light smell which is a result of the raw ingredients in it. The whole point in making a product that is free of scents (including masking fragrances) is to have a product free of both natural and artificial fragrance. When you do that, the natural smells of the ingredients will come through, though they are never strong and don’t really linger. This product’s ingredients give it a smell that is like a mix of citronella and calamine but not as strong as either one. I can smell it if i put my nose up to it or if i sniff my armpits within an hour of application, but that’s it, and after that it just fades away. It is not a bad or offensive smell (much better than bo) even if it’s not a scent someone with the luxury of using fragrance would choose. For people like me, it’s beautiful because it’s safe. I don’t get to choose what anything smells like. My conditioner smells like cooking oil, my soap smells like glycerin and and my hair gel smells like plastic and vinegar. I couldn’t care less. All that matters to me is that it is safe and will not cause terrible, itchy, oozing rashes that take months and a lot of prescriptions to clear, and that it serves it’s purpose. I’m grateful to lume for creating a product for me and the millions of people like me.

On to performance! Day one i applied only 1-2 swipes per arm as instructed but i did start to smell some faint bo after a couple of hours in the 106 degree az heat. The next day i washed it off and applied 3 swipes per arm. I went all day without smelling anything. When i got up the next day i could smell light bo if i put my nose to my armpit which is fine. It says it eliminates odor all day (that’s one day) and controls odor for 72 hours (meaning it will lessen the odor on days 2 & 3 but not eliminate it) so it did what it said it would do. I’ve been using it for two weeks now and have not had any adverse reactions. I will update if i do. I am happy that it works and i haven’t seen marks on my clothes, it feels nice and smooth going on and doesn’t feel wet or sticky after it rubs in. I highly recommend it if you truly need a product free of artificial and natural fragrance.

Lume whole body deodorant does exactly what it advertises: 72 hours of odor control vis a vis bacteria-free. Aluminum-free! It’s crucial for a lady to smell lovely all over, all the time. This product is designed keeping that in mind.

I was intrigued by the lume tv ads. Admittedly, several different deodorants have ceased efficacy for me. Much to my dismay, i’ve tried most of not all the mens “super strength” and when those failed me, i tried secret “clinical strength.” then those lume ads came along at just the perfect time! Lume website had such a limited selection due to the high demand for their awesome product! Then it hit me: i can always get it on my amazon! Boom, yes i can and i did! And boy this product is hands down the best product i’ve purchased in as long as i can recall. All upside – no downside. I highly recommend it. I even purchased the double solid stick pack in pineapple as a gift for my daughter. Do not hesitate – you will not regret this product purchase if you care about how you smell. It’s a whole body deodorant – game changer!!! I just don’t know why it took so long for someone to invent this in the first darn place, js.

I’m convinced. Lume works! I’ve tried most deodorants and extra strength deodorants. I’ve tried the natural ones, too. Nothing prevented me from stinking. Nothing, until lume! I was skeptical, but i tried it and no smell. It’s not an antiperspirant, but i found i didn’t sweat too much wearing it. I tried lume while wearing sleeveless tops. I smelled myself often that day and even brought lume with me in case i needed to reapply it to cover my smell. No need. It prevented me from stinking. I tried it the next day and the next, no smell. Then, i tried it in my private parts, no smell. No lie. It works. It ain’t cheap, but i don’t stink during the summer months. It works when i’m working out, too. This stuff is amazing.

I have to admit i was super skeptical on trying this as it is unscented. I have always been the type where women’s deodorant never worked on me, an hour after application and i was funky! I used mens deodorant, which was better, but the aluminum is not good. As someone who recently discovered i have a thyroid issue, they say to say away from aluminum deodorants. So my search lead me to lume. I am so blown away with this product, from the first day i started using it, there has been no body odor, and i mean zero!!!!! I am in texas so this deodorant has been sweat tested!! I have sense purchased the whole started kit so i can try other scents too! Huge believer in this stuff.

I truly don’t understand the scent comments many people make. This lavender/ sage smells just like my spa lotion! My many medications cause me to sweat constantly. That is ok ,but, the sweat is worst under my breasts & has a really awful odor. I have tried many deodorants/ antiperspirants & none work. The odor is apparent within a few hours of a shower with antibacterial soap. I’ve seen the ads for lumi on tv but the amazon reviews made me leary so i held off for a long time. Well, when it arrived and i smelled it i was so excited i took a shower and applied it right then. At 12-18 hours only odor is lavender . At 24 hours… Lavender. At 48 hours… Lavender. At 72 hours/3 days… Lavender. At 4 days still only lavender! I am truly amazed that this product actually lives up to it’s advertisement 100%. I am so thankful as it has solved a very embarrassing problem for me. Yes, god answers even little prayers such as this.

I’ve been using this for awhile now and waiting to leave a review. I have am auto immune disease of the skin called hidradenitis suppurativa or hs for short. I want to make sure others whom may have it know i have a mild case and i’m sorry if you have it worse . I wanted to see if it caused a break out and it hasn’t. I’m using it on my bikini area and under my breast, during the summer i get sweaty and stinky (especially on my bikini line) which is quite embarrassing. Since i started using this i have not had any smell in either area at all. I have only gone 48 hours without reapplying and still didn’t have any smell in either place. The only reason i haven’t gone 72 hours is because i don’t want to chance getting that onion smell from sweating down below, essentially since my smell is barely starting to come back after 2 1/2 years from covid. To any hs sufferers please don’t take my case as what your case may be while using this, take it slow, maybe using every other day, i know the pain of a break out. Good luck to any hs suffers whom may try this product, i hope it works for you as it does for me and you do not break out. Great job to the gynecologist who invited this!! I do wish it was cheaper tho as i live on a fixed income.

34 flipping years i’ve been alive and i’ve gone through literally every deodorant and antiperspirant i can think of. Every single brand and even the clinical strength and even men’s deodorant and nothing works for more than one hour on me. I grab the stuff just because i kept seeing youtube advertisements or whatever popping up for me and i was like fine maybe i’ll try it. Honestly it’s not an anti-perspirant so i’m still sweating a lot but at least the sweat smells literally like nothing. I can’t believe it. I usually am pretty embarrassed about my odor and it’s usually mixes with the scent of the deodorant i bought which just makes it even stronger. So with this stuff my shirts are wet because like i said no antiperspirant but i don’t even care because the sweat smells like literally nothing. I got the peony one and the scent is super faint to nothing but i’ll never use anything else now

I’m so happy i found this deodorant because it has truly worked for me! My armpits have always sweat quite a bit, but was never stinky….. That is until i started having children. Pregnancy and postpartum hormones threw my body into wack and my armpits were awful (which is totally normal). I’ve been using natural deodorants for about 5-6 years and none of my go to brands were working at all. I finally ordered lume because i saw the advertisements and thought, why not, right? I was desperate to find anything that worked because i was considering quitting breastfeeding so my body could go back to normal, which i didn’t want to do. It’s been 3 weeks and my armpits don’t smell!!! It’s amazing!! I can make it to my 2 year breastfeeding goal and that’s just way too cool. No irritation or anything. Just no smell!! I’m so thankful for this product. Thank you, lume!!

Ok, this may be tmi, but after menopause, my armpits odor became putrid. It didn’t matter how much i scrubbed my pits, but they would start to stink maybe an hour or two after i showered. It was awful and i was very self conciuous, worried that anyone within 10 feet could smell my stinky pits. So gross. Anyway, i saw an ad for lume deodorant, read the reviews, and figured i would give it a try. I bought one stick of unscented lume deodorant and it really does eliminate my armpits odor! It glides well and my pits dont stink anymore! It does totally eliminate my armpits odor!! And yes, it lasts!! Thank you to lume for this amazing product!

I’m very active and have always struggled with finding the right combination of soap/deodorant to extend the time between my morning and evening showers. While i haven’t been brave enough to attempt the 72 hour test, i’m happy to report that i can now easily go 24+ hours with no bo smell at all! I have eczema and use it on pits and privates with not issues whatsoever. Fyi, i bought the unscented (stick) version as i do not like scented deodorants, etc. I don’t write very many product reviews, however, i felt compelled as i hope this helps someone else in need of a better odor blocking solution.

I have tried lume before and wasn’t super into the dispenser (dotted top with the cream). When a stick came out i decided to give it another whirl. I have zero irritation and it’s very comfortable. I can swipe it on and dress and don’t need to wait for it to dry or anything. Peony is a nice floral scent that i like.

However, there are days when it seems like this gets me through 24 hours and i smell great..and days where i reek halfway through the day. This was the same for the first time i tried lume. I have no idea, i wfh and am not doing heavy labor. This isn’t an antiperspirant so i sweat up a storm and don’t reach for this on sleeveless days.

I don’t know about anyone else but i swap between ‘irritating clog your pores but works’ antiperspirants and a more ‘natural’ deodorant to let my skin recover. This works as my ‘recovery’ deodorant to keep my skin happy, but the variability of it’s effectiveness is very strange for me. I am very glad they came out with a solid stick. I know it’s not really their avenue, but gosh, if they could make an antiperspirant version we might have something close to perfect.

I really like this product. It has been a blessing because regular deodorant makes me break out or irritated. Lume does not. I do have sensitive skin..so, there’s that. The only issue i have is that after using the solid for a little over a month, it starts to smell like mildew. Pretty weird right? I live in san diego so…not really humid and this has happened with two different solids now. Both unscented and the peony. I wouldn’t complain but it’s a tad expensive to last only 6 weeks. Has anyone else experienced this? Perhaps i got a bad batch….twice! If the peony was in the cream, i’d just go back to that. Thoughts anyone?

Update: i find the solid stick smells wwwaaayyy better than the cream versions (either stick or tube). The cream version does have an off-putting odor (reminds me of butt ‍), with a hint of the floral peony rose in there. However, with that said, the butt odor does disappear quickly and the cream works on keeping sweaty odors aways too. I find the cream is easier to use in certain areas. My original review of the solid stick stands.

Original: first things first…this is a deodorant only, not an antiperspirant…you’re going to sweat. I still sweat, but i don’t stink anymore. I use it in multiple places (under arms, under boobs, bikini) and it has really helped where my usual antiperspirant, alone, failed. For me, the only things that keep this from being almost perfect are 1. Price and 2. The fact that it’s not an antiperspirant too. So, in places where i don’t want sweat soaking my clothes (e.g. Under arms), i use lume first then my antiperspirant (let the lume set for a few min first). No more onions, even in this heat wave…lol.

I have only used the peony rose so far and the scent is ok. It’s soft, kinda floral, and disappears fairly quickly. I don’t find it offensive at all.

The fragrance of this product requires an enjoyment of different scents, not the ones i am used to or like very much, in this combination. The product stays sticky all day long but the scent does not and it rubs off on my clothing after being applied. Luckily, my skin didn’t react to this product so i guess i may conclude that it is ‘for sensitive skin’, but it just wasn’t what i was looking for.

Since having two kids my go to deodorant no longer works for me. Was told by a friend to try this kind. Instead of buying direct from the company on line i came here. I tried the unscented version which was not a good idea. As its not suppose to have a scent it does (to me at least) smell like wet old wash cloth. I am too cheap to buy another one so i have bee dealing with it for now but hate the fact i smell that on my clothes if i do sweat. I have noticed for myself too if i don’t put it on right away and start to sweat and decide to put it on later it doesn’t work as well. I don’t dislike as it has worked for me for the most part just need to try a scent version of it to really see the effects.

Update: less than a month of use, my armpits have broken out in a rash…so i’ve stopped using this product – perhaps i could try the ‘unscented’ (why though?! I want to ‘smell’ good, not smell like ‘nothing’) but will just go back to my old deod i’ve used over 30+ years and never had an issue with. I had wanted to try something new/different…i still believe the product is good and works as advertised.

I had previously ordered the clean tangerine deod and it was an awful scent, it ended up in the trash can. The peony rose (solid) is heavenly!!! It smells ‘as expected’. Very nice and light, pleasant. Worked as advertised/expected. Scent faded after awhile but worn all day and night and over 72 hours later (with no shower/reapplication) no body odor/scent.

Going to the beach tomorrow and while i normally would not wear any scents (other than sunscreen) will put this to the test. I have a trip to disney in october upcoming and wanted to try this deod to see if it works as i don’t want to have the inconvenience of having to reapply deod periodically while being hot/sweaty.

*update below* i got unscented because i had already tried the cream one (tangerine)… It was absolutely disgusting! I read many reviews saying it smelled like dried saliva… That’s a disturbingly accurate description for cream one. So i figured i’d try unscented solid. Huge mistake!! Smell is even worse! The sad part is, it doesn’t go away and you still have to reapply later on if you sweat.
Also, i had already detoxed my underarms for several weeks, so it has nothing to do with that. I think the worst of everything is the smell, to be honest. It’s sooo bad!!!

i wanted to update my review from 1 to 4 stars because i found the trick to make it work… For me at least. Although i still feel it smells disgusting, i finally got it to work where that smell goes away and keep you odor free. The key is to apply as soon as you get out of the shower (before any odor causing bacteria starts to build) and let it dry before you put your shirt on. I usually shower at night and wear loose clothing at night so it’s fine. By the morning, it’s had time to work and i can go all day odor free even if i sweat. If you don’t let it dry, it will transfer and stain your clothes. You want it on you, not your clothes. I won’t rate 5 stars because it smells nasty, but i’m happy to say i finally got it to work for me.

Great product with fantastic smell, i still need to try the cream style in a tube, this definitely lasts all day however it’s no better than my dove aluminum free at less than half the price. As for whether it would last 72 hours- i doubt that so unless there is re-applying daily. I really wanted to try this and i’m glad i did however for the price it’s hard to justify switching to strictly this brand. It is super important to support our small businesses so i do recommend you try this yourself- there are many great points to this product from the small business standpoint, the ability to put it anywhere and the wonderful scents that are natural and not artificial and over powering. Try the innovative tube style first, i wish i would have- it seems that would be the best option with this brand.

The scent lingers much longer than the tubes. It seems to work better also! This lasts me all day, but the tubes would hardly last me thru my 8 hour work shift. Unfortunately this is like an actual glue stick pulling your skin when you apply. That is painful, but short lived. Much better than other natural deodorants with baking soda that actually peel my skin off lol

I normally do not need deodorant/antiperspirant. I’ve never sweat a lot and never had to deal with body odor until after giving birth to my daughter. Suddenly i had strong odor in my armpits by mid day. No sweat, just odor. Tried all the usual: dove, secret, degree, mitchum. Tried mens, women’s, clinical strength, all natural. Mostly they just added a nice scent, but the underlying body odor was still there. I didn’t notice this worked until i went to put it in again on the second day and realized i hadn’t smelt any odor the first day. I gave it two more days before writing a review just in case. It really worked. It’s fragrance (peony rose) isn’t anything special, but it’s not strong and the real point is that it actually eliminates the body odor. That’s what i got it for and that’s what it does. I’ll see how long the stick lasts to see if it’s worth the cost. Now to try some of the other products for my husbands stinky feet.
