I love my cat, but the furry little bugger has cost me far more money than i’d like to acknowledge in chewed cords. Cell phone charger cords and headphones are his favorites, but really no cord is safe. It was a bridge too far though when he chewed through the cord on my firestick. When i said i was cutting the cord on cable, he decided he was going to chew the cord on my streaming as well. Yes, you are correct cat, i watch too much tv, but you are not the boss of me! So i needed a replacement fast, i can only go so long, my tv addiction must be fed. But how to prevent it from happening again? This little beauty has done the trick. No dangling cords to temp my furry satan. My tv is now uninterrupted and i can claim victory. At least until he decides to leave hairballs on my pillow in retaliation.

I bought it on prime day at a discount several weeks ago after it was suggested by amazon to power the fire stick 4k using the tv’s usb port. Both the hdmi and usb ports are very close to each other on my tv so the cable lengths were long enough. The internal battery within the cable provides any peak power demands of the fire stick. The fire stick never drops out while watching it. Great investment. 5 stars!

Works well. Removes some wires and frees up an outlet. Clean looking. I haven’t noticed the lag mentioned in some reviews.

The ac adapter was the source of my issues with the fire stick. I was told they begin to somewhat fail over time giving inconsistent voltage. Plus it cleans up the cable situation behind the tv and frees up an outlet.

Very easy to set up . I did it myself lol. Did not need my dad’s help lol so anyone can hook this up.

The usb power device works perfectly but the usb power from a tv stops after shutdown. Firestick is designed to stay on, especially if you are using other echo speakers for the new firestick home cinema (which is spectacular).

This product would work best for a standalone tv setup, where you don’t mind waiting for the startup to complete or access to power is an issue.

Got the job done. I’m powering my fire stick without an electrical cord – it’s plugged into my tv’s usb port.

This isn’t a necessity, but it is very nice to have. It works like you’d expect and is what it says it is. Nice product.

This one works. It lets me have one less power cable hooked up to the power strip. Fyi: i have an older 65′ sony non-fire tv, very high tech for its time 8 years ago. The only down side is that you give up 2 ports instead of one in connecting the fire stick. You also loose and another port, because the power in connector goes into the side of the fire stick and not the end, blocking another port. Ref: photo above. On the up-side, the older tvs have a lot of ports.

Must have when traveling and don’t have an outlet or need to save space on an existing outlet using your fire stick. Immediately goes to fire tv when powering on television.

This will allow a weak usb port to power your fire stick with an extra little battery. Don’t be fooled by the ‘premium cables’ that say they will help push your firetv amperage up over the hill. Those don’t work. This one does.

But the problem is that the usb port (on my tv at least) turns off when the tv is off, so this doesn’t get charged when the tv is off, and the firetv has no power when it’s off, so you can’t turn on the tv with hdmi-cec, and the firetv will.have tomgo through the long bootup process every time you turn it on. You’re better off splitting real ac power from the tv’s power line and running real separate power to the firetv stick. If you buy the right short cables, you can do this cleanly behind the tv. It’s not as simple as using this device, but you get a better setup and don’t spend time waiting for the firetv to boot up every time you turn on the tv. It also can’t do background auto-updates and such in the background when the tv is off, so you end up spending time waiting for updates instead of watching tv.

So i got this for my bedroom because i didn’t like seeing the cord for my fire stick dangling down my wall. It does work so when you first plug it in it hass to charge up the little box and then it’s able to cut the fire stick on and off by using the power from the television but it takes about 5 to 10 minutes. With that being said it will stay charged for a good amount of time so you can just cut it on and off as you want to and it charges as it’s on. But if you’re like me i only use the television in the bedroom at night which means it’s off usually all night and during the day so it loses the charge so every time i have to use it i have to cut the tv on wait 10 minutes cut it off and then cut it back on so it’s a great product but it’s more beneficial for those who use their television more often.

Good thing. The only problem i found is in the start of the tv. Because the electricity stop when you close the tv, its take time for fire to get started
