I bought mcafee total protection for 5 devices thru amazon . The price was great compared to mcafee’s web site …. Considerately ! It was a download purchase from amazon , not the disc i had used before . Came via our email . A tip i did not know , should you have a previous mcafee installed on your computer , be sure to uninstall it before downloading the new one purchased . I am in my 70’s , not computer savvy by any means. I eventually contacted mcafee support as i was receiving msgs. From mcafee that my download was going to expire . I found a very helpful representative @ mcafee and he helped me so much and getting me on track. So the help is there for you should you need it . This is a good product , we have used it for many years . Just don’t let it intimidate you as it did to me . “ you can do this “ …. Should you need help, go to support and hope you get nikhil . Didn’t really read the specifications that was recommended to run mcafee i have a windows 10 but says i’m not compatible to getting windows 11 so i can’t get it to work but awesome product and price!

Product is working so far so good. Difficult speaking with tech support since it’s outsourced outside the country, making the call take much longer than necessary.

The offer indicates that you get a 15 month subscription but that is not true. I bought the product, which was just a renewal of the previous year (which was also supposed to be a 15 month subscription), and when updated the expiration date is one year from the date.

I spoke with mcafee to see why i only got 12 months and they said it was an amazon code and not their problem. Spoke with amazon and they said it wasn’t their issue…so you mix in a little false advertising with a decent product and there you have it.

When did anti-virus companies become

This subscription isn’t bad in any way, just annoying at times. During my experience i would turn off the service so i could mod in gta and during my time it would randomly turn back on. It would delete my mod menus, and just being a nuisance. Other than that pretty good.

I have used mcafee for many years, and my mcafee subscription is running out soon, and i will install this for protection on my devices until 8/23. This even includes vpn for protection online in all my devices.

I originally had a mcafee subscription through my internet provider and purchased this because i’ve always had good experiences with mcafee.

There were some instructions that i guess i missed in the email that was sent confirming the order through amazon and ultimately i had to google or youtube how to install.

My advice after, after you purchase , just read your email thoroughly it will probably save you some aggravation and time.

Introduction: i had been using a slightly less-featured version of this software that was provided by my former internet service provider.

Pros: mcafee has a very good reputation. The first-year discount is very attractive. The antivirus does a good job. The firewall does a very good job of blocking suspicious incoming network connections. Web protection seems to do its intended job. Tracker removal is adequate. Id protection is a very nice plus.

Cons: the renewal cost is a bit pricey. There is a noticeable slowdown when trying to open a web page that contains a large number of links when using the browser add-ons (webadvisor, web boost). The interface is fairly good although it can be cumbersome when looking for a specific function (e.g., how to set the shredder level.)

misc.: a secure vps and a password manager is included with this product, but i have not activated these features.

Conclusion: i recommend this software.

The only thing they need to add is a anti-hacking system.

I have used mcafee for a few years, and i believe what this company is doing may fall under hidden and sneaky practices to make money off of customers. On last year, mcafee charged my credit card an auto renewal fee of $89.00 and i was unable to get it removed. Therefore, this year, i am a little more vigilant about the the product. Admittedly i don’t recall seeing it in the license agreement last year.

I purchased a total security for (5) downloads from amazon on 12/20/21. I paid for it and then went to mcafee website to install. There were many attempts on the website to trick the customer into signing up for auto renewal because it offers no choice.

I believe i was able to avoid the auto renewal with the 1st download but with the 2nd download, the only way it will allow the download is if customer agrees with the license agreement before downloading.

Today, i have made several attempts to contact the company with the contact phone number listed on the website but each time the call was dropped. Also, with the same email used to download the 1st one, on the same day, practically minutes later when i attempted to do the 2nd download, i received a message that says it does not recognize the email address.

Does anyone know of a good, not so costly internet and virus security?
