What is the oil change interval for mobil 1 advanced full synthetic?every 5000miles or 10000miles?

Every 5,000 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first with the regular mobil 1 synthetic (not the extended performance)

I have 80k miles on my nissan murano 2010 and i don’t have oil leaking problem. Should i still use this oil? Or ‘mobil1 extended performance’ version

It’s really up to you. I’m not completely sure if it’s a seal conditioner additive that differentiates the extended performance from the regular mobil 1 but things tend to wear with age. I put it in my 2008 v8 pathfinder which didn’t have an oil leak issue and it works well. I converted over when it had about 90k on it. I also have a 19 year old car that was leaking oil and was significantly reduced when i used the extended mobil 1.

Would this be safe to use on a lawn mower that came with an ‘sae 30 small engine motor oil’?

It’s a fact that briggs & straton for my riding mowers now recommend 5-30 & personally i have found less oil consumption!? For weed eaters no. When starting you get oil covering all the areas unlike just 30w which it turns into when the engine warms up. For push or awd mowers(smaller engine) i don’t know. Also it seems to not break down like regular oil & turn black. For me it’s worth the extra cost for synthetic. I also use sea foam religiously for fuel and into engine opil before oil change..cleans lower end.. Gl

Would anyone recommend this for a 1.4tsi jetta? For some reason it doesn’t show up as a recommended oil anymore on the mobil1 website.

I looked at the manual for my 2016 jetta se 1.4tsi and it mentions the vw 504 standard, does this oil meet and/or exceed the standard?

Can you use marvel mystery with this oil

Yes i always use 1 qt of marvel mystery oil with 5 qts of mobil 1 high mileage full synthetic in my avalanche. Marvel mystery oil is amazing stuff that keeps your engine clean and prevents/stops any noise from lifters etc.

Is this ok for 2013 mazda 3 skyactive 2?

Been running mobil 1 full synthetic fuel economy in a 2014 mazda 6 that’s at 55,000 miles now, no known issues, changing it every 7500 miles as specified in the owners manual. In checking around at some mazda forums back when the car was new, other than the bottles of factory mazda oil available at the dealer counter, this oil seemed to be one of the consensus picks for skyactiv engines. The factory mazda oil has a molybdenum additive and is much more expensive than this mobil 1. Some suggested getting a molybdenum additive to go with the mobil 1, however i’ve never done this. (note, if you go to a mazda dealer for a synthetic oil change, it will almost certainly come from a giant tank of castrol synthetic or whatever. Ask ’em. To get the pricey factory mazda oil, you need to go to the dealer parts department).

Can i use this on a 2005 jetta 2.5l 5cyl?

Yes. Mobil 1, a fully synthetic oil, can be used in any internal combustion engine, it is a favorite in turbo-charged motors because it does not ‘coke’ up as does petroleum oils.

I bought a 5qt bottle in december for $25.47 now same bottle is $45.23. Does anyone know why?

Be aware that ‘full’ synthetic motor oil is not actually synthetic motor oil at all. It is a highly refined motor oil yes, but still comes from crude oil. A true 100% synthetic motor oil will say so on the bottle, (look for 100% synthetic wording) and will also set you back about $47 for 5 quarts. Walmart and such has both on the shelves, and the higher-priced stuff is true synthetic. This is just glorified motor oil that mobil is marketing differently. It’s better than standard oil, but again it still comes from the ground, and not a 100% synthetic oil. Don’t believe me just do some youtube searches. Great marketing for sure, but don’t fall for the hype. You are being suckered into thinking this is the real mccoy when it’s not.

Any thoughts about using this in an older ’01 engine? Used to use conventional; lately been using syn-blend.

Synthetic blend oil is 4 percent synthetic the rest conventional. That is all the requirement to label as a synblend. This is ideal for older engines and new ones. It contains 1000ppm of zddp. Almost all other oils on the market are at 600ppm which is way too low. Its as high as you can get without spending big bucks for specialty oils. Dump it in with a mobil 1 oil filter and change every 10k miles. Synthetic oil is conventional oil from the ground that has been re refined and enhanced, change back and forth without any issues. I run mobil 1 hm in 14 vehicles i am responsible for. They still suffer internal failures from the automakers sourcing their parts from the cheapest bidder and not hardening testing parts, and terrible timing chain manufacturers but at least the engine looks new inside.

Does this have any zddp for flat tappet cam engines?

Valvonline vr1 is a great oil for older engines needing the zinc. I run it in all my flat tappet engines. ’52 8n tractor, small engines, ’92 jeep xj, mercruiser 5.7 sbc, and ’71 c10 sbc.

Has anyone switched from a non synthetic to this? If so were there any issues?

Yup — i switched and have had no issues for 8 years/ 813 engine-hours so far.

I don’t work for or represent any company. I’m just a retired old engineer who really likes this product. I successively converted 2 large 4-stroke motorcycles to synthetic oil many years ago during my ‘misspent youth’ period. In 2010, i bought a used 2006 chevy silverado (5.3liter, iron-block v8, 48,000miles) which had 1,200 hrs actual engine run-time using non-synthetic 5w-30 oil (not sure about exact brand or type). I switched right away to ‘mobil 1 extended performance synthetic oil’ & a ‘k&n hp-1007 oil filter’. I’ve used this combination since then, replacing oil and filter once a year for 7 years so far. The truck has run more smoothly, and worked perfectly with regard to lubrication with no issues. The service manager at a large chevy dealer here told me that the best protocol is to change the oil to one of the ‘mobil 1 synthetic’ types, providing a good new oil filter once a year, but do not go back from synthetic to non-synthetic oil (i’m not sure exactly why, but just don’t do it). It’s a good idea to check with the dealer/or manufacturer of your vehicle/or a good mechanic you trust about the conversion before you make it. Be sure to use the correct weight of oil, and the best oil filter you can get. It might be a good idea to use a mobil 1 filter designed for their oil, considering jeremy’s thoughtful comment below regarding molecule size. If you make the change, i bet you’ll be glad you did. Good luck. I hope this helps you and/or someone else out there in the uber-twitter-cyberium-continuum.

What’s the difference between 5-20 and 5-30w? Does it matter if i live in hawaii where its summer all year round? Change once a year (23k/month) good enough?

5w-20 or 5w-30 in hawaii? Depends on what your owners manual states. They usually have a range listed of what weight oil you can use in your vehicles engine. It is also usually on the oil fill cap. If you are actually putting 23 thousand miles a month on your vehicle then you should change this oil based on every 15000 miles not once a year. I would send your oil to places that test oil after in your engine to be sure you can make it 15000 miles. Blackstone labs is one of those places. I would check oil levels constantly with every few gas fill ups any way to make sure it doesn’t get too low. If you off road in the wet then you may need to change it more often because it can become contaminated with water.

How many miles is this oil suppose to last?

Depends on the abuse. If you are doing heavy duty towing it won’t last as long. I use the 10w-40 in a class c motorhome. It works hard so i change that one every 5k miles. I use the 5w-30 in my pickup under everday situations and it typically goes 7-8k miles.

Is this item used for toyota rav4 2007?

My rav4 requires 0w-20 which is only synthetic. I have used mobil 1 in my rav since i bought it in 2008

Roughly how many miles will this oil last before you need to change it?

You want to change your oil according to your owners manual recommendation, that said i have no problem running this oil the 8500 miles my car’s manual says to. You definitely want to use an extended life filter and i still would not run the filter any more than about 8500 no matter what anyone says. But that’s just me

I have 3l of mobile 1 extended high milage. Can i top up with the mobile 1 extended high milage?

Yes you can. Mobil one can be mixed with regular oil and full synthetic.

My 2014 chevy silverado manual says i need sae 0w-20. But,on the front of the product it says ‘recommended for most hondas and toyotas’can i use it?

As long as you changing your oil completely and not mixing synthetic to non synthetic oil, you should be fine. Car brand should not matter, but you should follow what the owner’s manual is requiring as a minimum to match the specifications of this product. In which i believe you will find this synthetic oil will exceed.from the 5th bullet on the product title:excellent overall lubrication and wear protection performance for many driving styles and conditions, from mild to severe, where a 5w-20 or 0w-20 is recommended1st sentence on the product description:mobil 1 0w-20 advanced fuel economy synthetic oil is engineered to help improve fuel economy in vehicles where sae 0w-20 or 5w-20 motor oil is recommended. Both cite sae 0w-20 or 5w-20 recommendations and not the brand of the vehicle.

Would this be ok in my 93 f250 7.3l diesel?thank you,steve.

No, use mobile 1 turbo diesel synthetic instead. I was at 400,000 miles on a dodge sprinter with no oil burn when i sold it because the transmission failed.

I am buying 2x 5 qts but truck takes 8qt. 2 qts will be left from opened gal. Can i store the remaining 2 qts and use at next oil change?

Of course you can i run into this problem all the time, gosh it just annoys the hell out of me to have to save a opened oil bottle. But i have several in the garage i haven’t used lol

I have a 2002 toyota rav4 & it has 145,000 miles. Is this oil for my suv?

In my personal opinion i think mobil 1 is a great choice for any vehicle. I use it in my 2004 nissan frontier and have 125000 miles on it. It’s had nothing but this oil in it since the day it was purchased.

This is a great product if you can get it and worth every dollar it cost

I like everything about mobile 1 5w30 20,000 mile, high mileage oil, and when you can get it for a great price it is even better the only complaint i have is with there warehousing and shipping it took me 1month to receive this product..i bought it through amazon but it was mobile 1 was the seller on there site it was to arrive in 5 days after 7 days they ‘mobile 1’ back ordered it for what they said could be up to another 3 weeks… The product arrived 2 1/2 weeks later…… Even though i save approximately 25 dollars on it…but i couldnt wait 3 extra weeks to service my truck so i went ahead and bought amazon brand synthetic for 1 dollar less its reviews are just about as good as mobile1 ….i will save the mobile 1 till next service ,…

This is the best extended drain interval oil in the market …. I kid you not

You may think it crazy and absurd ordering motor oil from amazon but a person’s got to do when it’s simply convenient. Our local costco here in the city stopped selling mobile one and having to drive to any of the local automobile stores is not only inconvenient but you have to put up with snotty kids with attitude. Prices charged on amazon are decent so you never overpay once you get the final order over $25. What makes this particular oil amazing is the fact i have a 17 year old toyota which is used only make doctor’s appointments and short hops to local places here in the city. As a result i never put more than 3k miles in the course of a year. Oil changes are performed in alternating years…..yes alternating years! Book value is insultingly low however i keep it around just for these purposes. So far it worked for me these 15 years since i retired. Can i have the oil changed by others? Yes but why pay hard earned bucks not knowing what kind of bulk oil is used when i can get the job done in 10 minutes or less knowing it’s completed properly …. Overtighted drain plug are avoided, oil filter cartridge isn’t overtightened with a breaker bar, and all the remaining fluids are validated to be topped off. There’s got a be a reason why mobile clearly states this oil can be used in extended drain intervals!

The best durable synthetic oil out there

I have been using mobile one extended oil on all my four cars and i can tell you this is the best oil i ever used, the price is good and you can actually drive 18,000 to 20,000 miles on this oil, my 2003 tahoe has 190,000 miles and i have actually drove 20,000 miles with the mobile extended filter and nothing happened, oil was dark but still liquified to lubricate vital engine parts and i use it on my wife’s 2014 acadia and i ran it with 16,000 miles on the oil before changing it and the engine still runs good.

Great motor oils.

My car has over 80k miles now. I have been always used regular mobile 1 fully synthetic motor oil for every 5k oil change even though it can run up to 10k but i don’t want to take the risk to ruin the engine. After the oil change this time, i feel the engine has restored lot of power now.

I have been using mobile 1 synthetic motor oils since high school.

My friend in high school referred mobile 1 full synthetic motor oil to me when i bought my 2nd car for brand new. I had always used mobile 1 from then on for every 5000 miles oil change. Now i am on my 6th car so far, my current vehicle has over 120k miles, and i’m using mobile 1 all the time. I am switching from economy synthetic motor oil 0w20 to high mileage 0w20. Let’s see how the result is after i switched. Amazon has the best price so far. Inflation has increased motor oils in every retailers except amazon online. Overall i love shopping on amazon for motor oils.

I really don’t know. I change out
between 5,500-6,500 miles using a good oil filter made for synthetic and long life.
I change my own oil so the price is right for me.highly recommend this oil.

It’s oil

It is what i expect from mobil oil and it was at a good price, delivery was faster than what they told me, they said a month but it was here in 8 days, at several dollars cheaper i was willing to wait since i already had changed my oil.

Switched from rotella

My ’93 yj w/ 4.0 has 117,000 miles, i have been using shell rotella t4 conventional oil and it was fine. Recently i decided to make the switch to full synthetic at my next change and chose this after a little research, it might be placebo but i can swear i notice the engine running smoother than before.

The best motor oils for lexus.

My lexus es350 has around 120k miles now, and this motor oils does get the job done. The engine is very quiet. Nice motor oils for the money.

Excellent long life oil.

I like the quality of this mobil-1 oil because i never gave to add oil between changes. I haves used this oil for years in all my vehicles.

Works well in my newer v6 engines but not my old v8

Normally use pennzoil platinum or valvoline max life but neither was available at a normal price. After changing the oil in my old 2000 durango it immediately began to tap and knock which doesn’t occur using other brands
am draining the mobil 1 out of my old truck and refilling with pennzoil platinum as soon as it’s delivered. Will probably save it and use to top off as the oil has less than 500 miles on it to date
do not recommend for older v8 engines, it just doesn’t maintain oil pressure
this oil is made for modern engines and does it job, go with a different brand if you have an older engine

Brand name.

Mobil 1 has a good reputation – i trust the quality to be good. I have never had an oil analysis done, so trust in the brand name is paramount. That’s why i gave it 4 stars – 5 stars needs an oil analysis for definitive proof.

Oil inside and out!

I received my package by hand from our incredible ups lady (not sarcasm, she’s the best), only to open it and find oil soaking the inside of the box. Wiped them off and check the level and they were about equal but then i found the crack on the inside of one of the handles. So i skipped lunch and did an oil change to empty it. I usually buy mobile 1 synthetic for most of my vehicles and this is the first time i’ve had it happen. I could choose to be dramatic and ask for a refund, but i’ll just mention it to see if this gets some traffic to know whether it’s more common than i expect.
