It’s in the description:

If you use it on one eye do you have to have the oher eye open for it to work?

If you look through your dominant eye and keep your other eye open, that will make it easier to point at a bird or other small object. If you look through your non-dominant eye and leave your other one open, you may find it difficult and disorienting. It’s probably not a problem because most people naturally use their dominant eye without even realizing it.

Is it really 8x? The last time i purchased a monocualr from amazon, it said 8x x 50mm, but was in fact 16x x 40mm, which is too powerful for my needs

Yes,this monocular is really 8x.

Does this monocular work with a smartphone adapter?

Yes,the monoculars work with a smartphone adapter.

Can this be used at night time for stargazing ?

I haven’t but i suppose it could !

What means lifetime warranty?

Usually it means if there any defect because of there manufacturing of the scope but they get to determine if its your fault or theirs. If your fault they dont fix it . You need to pay for repairs

Qué alcalde tiene

Básicamente son lentes para uso terrestre, como observación de aves. No espere mucho de este tipo de lentes.

What is the shortest distance you can use this for–6 feet, 7 feet or more? I am visually impaired and need to use it for things that are closer

Not specifically tested. I think 6 feet is also ok.

Is there a smartphone adapter for this monocular? If so please provide a link or description.

If there is, i have not found one. This is a very simple item.

Are you able to see the moon like you can with a telescope.

It depends on what you want to ‘see’. You are able to see the moon with the 1x lens that is built into your eye. This monocular will magnify what you see by 8 times. That will give you a nice view of the whole moon, but not the details you would see through a telescope. Most telescopes start at much higher magnification than 8x. Even spotting scopes tend to run from 15x to around 60x. On the other hand, you can carry this around and hold it in your hand. Such is not the case with higher powers.

Is there a unit conversion error in the item description? If my calculations are correct 120m/1000m converts in yards to 119yds/1000yds.

No

What size of adapter for phone

I’m not sure that you can hook this to your phone. But i can say that i returned my monocular because i felt there was little to no zoom. I could see just as well with my eyes.

Is this a good spotting scope for airsoft

Yes,the monocular is a good spotting scope for airsoft.

Can anyone provide a link for a cellphone adapter for this particular monocular? Thank you!

Not sure there is one and wouldn’t recommend this monocular if there was one.

Can thisbe used with smartphone?

No

Can the strap be moved to the other side for a left hand person?

No

What’s the material of the lens?

Glass

Is the fov 128 feet or meters at 1000m? The description says128 feet then the specs at the bottom say 100m/1000m… Which is it?

I think the monocular is far bigger than you say 128 feet;it is written in its description., 138ft/1000yards of field view let you have the best view in outdoor adventures.

Are these 8x? 138ft at 1,000 yards inidciates a much higher power (like 16x), or that the field of view is excessively narrow.

Yes,these monoculars are 8x,138ft at 1000 yards still inidicates a much high power.

I need exactly measuring the distance

This unit is ok – not exactly the highest quality. I use it to watch birds and small animals from 10 to 50 ft away

Lightweight and powerful!

For the price, this is a very nice telescope, compact, lightweight and powerful enough for the amateur. The carry case is nice because it has a loop for a belt or pack strap.

I cannot guarantee you’ll be able to score treasure but you’ll def see other pirates coming. Plus, it’s a monocular so you’ll have a free hand to flip them thre bird!

Great gift

Works well and packaged nicely for gift giving. My father in law loved it.

5Expert Score
Compact and good quality.

Got this as a smaller alternative to my field binoculars, which are a bit bulky and heavy. This seems to fit the bill – good range on it, wide field of vision, and you can bring stuff in from pretty far away. Great for sporting events, hiking, camping, or anyplace that you might need to focus in on something a little too far away. I keep it in the car, because it’s good to have when you need it. I’m very pleased with it.

A hunter really enjoyed this!

Gave as a gift to my hunting-son. He said it was great and he used it all day on his next hunt. I’m sure he has used much more expensive binoculars and monoculars but this was his favorite.

Totally upped my bird watching game!

Totally upped my bird watching game! I did a little research and found that the 8×42 magnification should work well since my tree is only about 25 feet from the house. They seem to be perfect for me! Although it was a bit bigger than expected, it is much smaller than the binoculars i was trying to use and the eye opening is perfect since i wear glasses. The size really isn’t an issue, but i don’t think they would fit well in a pocket if i was out and about. I didn’t mind spending $40, but i did also order a cheap monocular that has a 12x vs 8x magnification to see the difference. I live on a lake so it’s always great to have these! I only wish it came with the adapter to take pictures with my iphone! Oh… And thanks for the nearly overnight shipping:)

Quality

Yes there are better optics than this out there. They allcost hundreds if not thousands of dollars. This is 36.00 and works like 200.00. I have never spent better on anything, anywhere, it is a wonderful scope at three times this price.

Fantastic!

Thought i wanted something like this and found out i did! Small, portable, comes in handy! It was better than i anticipated. Not only do i use it on the gun range, but take it with me on trips. Wild life everywhere! So easy to use and it’s fun. Worth the money!

Pretty good image quality and a great value

I have used this item for a couple of days now and am very happy with the quality. No issues with sharpness, fringing or chromatic aberration. Contrast is great and brightness is good in low light (dusk). Hand held shake is ok. Tripod use is good. I would not want to go higher than the 8x power in these monoculars handheld as the shake would become problematic. I wear eyeglasses and there is enough eye relief to see the full field of view. The eye cup is easy to adjust. A couple of cons: i wish it focused a bit closer, minimum focus is about 12 feet. The hand strap does not seem to help in holding the monocular steady and isn’t useful. Recommended, a great value.

High quality optics….good design

Bought the 8×42 version…..higher power units are too shaky w/o a tripod, and i want to use it hand-held. The adjustable hand grip works great and allows you to palm it securely and focus with one hand. Wish it had a strap for the rear lens cover, but i managed to use the excess from the palm strap to secure it against loss. Case comes with a shoulder strap and belt loop. The unit is threaded for a tripod.

4Expert Score
Solid, easy to use, just the right size.

As good as i hoped. Easy to assemble, easy to hold, easy to focus. I wanted these to be able to see across the street, and these fit the bill. Only guessing that as a standard lot is 50 x100 ft here, with a normal 2 lane road, plus 20ft egress… Maybe 200+/- ft viewing distance?

I have not yet tried at a park or beach for super long distances yet.

(thankfully, i read the description from the manufacturer/seller describing and defining what the numbers meant. If the numbers are too large, it’s hard to hand hold and be steady while looking through the lens. I intended handheld use, not tripod use.)

one reviewer said that they were unhappy that both lens covers weren’t attached… Well, if one pays attention in how the strap is inserted, both caps stay with the unit.

This feels solid. It is comfortable to hold.
Very happy with my purchase.

Clear glass

Where i work we have coyotes, eagles (bald) and retail hawks around pretty often, so wanted to be able to do a little viewing at times. This monocular was in the ball park price wise but was a little concerned about the low power (8×42 vs a 10×50). I’m going to be doing hand held primarily so thought i would get a stable image with the 8 power. Glad i did. It is stable (not too shaky) and the glass is clear. One of my priorities was to get glass covers for the front & back. The back glass (smallest) is not held on with a strap, so could be lost, but the front (larger) glass cover is tethered to the monocular. Eye peace works for me as i wear glasses but my friends at work don’t so they adjust the eye piece out as needed. Case is a little tight, but figure it will stretch out in time. Fairly compact, good monocular for the price. Would recommend to a friend. In fact, believe some of my friends at work are interested in picking one up for their work bags. Gave it 4 stars as the monocular covers are not both tethered and the bag is a little tight. A belt loop on the bag would be a good improvement for hiking.

Great quality and clear.

For the price this is great. I keep it in my boat bag. It’s definitely more of a toy than not though. Just keep your expectations in line with the price tag and you won’t be disappointed.

4Expert Score
Good monocular, a little extra effort in designing the band strap & eyepiece cover resting loop!

The padded hand strap (length of nylon loop connecting it) was almost to short for my hand to fit under it.. I ended up securing (sewing) it so it wouldn’t come lose. The eye piece cap should of come with something to attach it to the monocular… I added a loop and ran it through the prior hand loop and the fitting in the eye cap that seemed to designed for it. Without this the cap will be lost quickly. The monocular worked well… The temptation to get a higher power was resisted.. It is a comfortably small unit which meant any slight movement, even with the lower power, made staying in target a challenge. The emarth plastic (adhesive back) tag (covered focusing mech. Access) came loose, i stuck it back in place.

4Expert Score
Handy monocular scope.

This is a small monocular scope with a hand strap. Good quality for the price point. Easy to use and focus. Great for hiking and sitting on your patio checking out the birds and wildlife. Not a celestron but it’s also not $250 dollars either. Small carrying case is handy. Lens are adequate. It’s fine for simple birding, etc. And seems to be made well enough to withstand a little abuse.

4Expert Score
Just okay

Optically good.
My star deduction is for the so-called carry case which is waaaaay too small for the monocular… I debated on returning, but kept it due to optics. Lens caps leave a lot to be desired – they fit loose at best.
Typically, one must have a steady hand to use it by hand, but i’m sure it will work well with a tripod/mono-pod… I pull it out when the iss passes over… From an optical standpoint, i’d recommend, but for the carrying case… Nah, poor design…
