Are these vegan?

People need to educate themselves before making fool of themselves. Vegan is not a diet y a way of live.

What is the difference between regular dasuquin chews and those with msm?

Msm is an additional joint supplement. Some people even use msm on it’s own. I worked with show horses and race horses for ten years and we used a similar injectable equine version of dasuquin that goes by a different name as well as an additional msm supplement as at the time we were unaware of a combination formula. Basically two supplements in one. Hope this helps.

Are people still having problems with them being stuck together and dry?

The same thing happened to me. My initial bag was good, the chews were moist, chewy, not stuck together. The second bag i got in march 2018 were dry, hard, crumbly and a different color. I called customer service and they sent out another bag and i got it the next day. This one was better, but not as good as the first bag. These were clumped together, kind of hard, but at least better than the 2nd bag. I keep them in a lock and lock container. I almost afraid to get another bag and the price has jumped significantly.

Flavor of soft chews?

Soft chews. Smells like beef. My dog eats them w/o tasting them

What is expiration date?

The ones we just bought expire approx 1 year from now.

Have they changed the recipe? Or is it different from vets office? My dog is throwing up now.

Here’s my review i recently did; hope it helps you.
July 3, 2017- the first bag i bought from my vet who recommended dasuquin chews. My dog loved them and these chews have helped a lot with his torn meniscus.
I recently bought a second bag through amazon and my dog refuses to eat them. The chews are really hard and arent soft like the bag i bought from the vet. Sell by date isnt until 12//2018!
I called nutrimax who make dasuquin and was told by customer service that these arent supposed to be sold on amazon. Whoever is supplying this product may not be storing them properly. Nutrimax is going to replace the bag i bought here. Try buying from a veterinarian first. I’m giving the product 5 stars based on the purchase from my vet.

I read that bags are counterfeit and coming from china and they should only be sold by your veterinarian, is this true and if so why are you selling?

We’re on our third bag of dasuquin and are having good results. Our first bag was from the veterinarian, the other two from amazon. I compared both bags to make sure that we were receiving the identical product – bag for bag. As far as i could tell, we were. The only difference was that amazon charges substantially less for the product than does our vet.

What is msm listed with dasuquin?

What is msm

What is the difference between the yellow package and the green/blue package? Both have the exact same info (60lbs and over, 150 soft chews, msm).

The yellow has msm and green doesn’t. The vet said msm is what my 5.5lb. Maltese needed.
He has done great on this product, like a puppy again, and he’s 13.

My dog is 57 pounds should i use the under 60 pound chews?

My girls are under 60 pounds and i give both 60 pounds and over vet recommended i give at bed time and they both are doing great

Last order never received. My dog needs this stuff. What do i do now????

Be thankful it didn’t come this product made my fur baby so sick

Hi! Would you please answer my previous request regarding the delivery status?

Timely delivery, as expected.

Why do these need bht and bha? I’ve read these 2 preservatives are not healthy.

I called nutramax to see why other very popular pet supply site has this without bht and bha listed in ingredients. I was told this listing shows an old picture and those ingredients are no longer used. Also i was told amazon is not an authorized seller due to counterfeit/fake items. I have noticed this over the last year on many items. Though amazon offered same day delivery i chose to got with the authorized site with a great return policy, just have to wait a couple of days.

How long does it normally take to see changes in the dog’s pain and behavior? I’ve had my yellow lab on them for about 2 weeks.

We noticed a huge difference in our golden retrievers at about week 5. Make sure you are consistently giving them every day and i believe we did 2 a day for 4 weeks and then went to 1 a day. This supplement has been a blessing for our pups! Highly recommend it! Very worth the cost! We have 4 dogs, so we use about a bag a month-150 pieces.

36 lbs frenchie. He has been skipping for sometime. Gave him 2 tbs a day for a month & it helped him.now just 1. He is skipping again. Can he have 2?

Read the back of the bag, usually my 49 pound heeler gets 1 every other day. In the beginning it was everyday, but they say to start giving every other day. I will continue to do that until i see he needs it everyday. He had bad hip dysphasia my boy does.

What is the fat content

The package doesn’t say, but it works really well with my 12 year old lab

How do i delete an item i do not want to buy?

I have two 15lb dog’s i buy the dasiquin in 84 count i gave them one each daily for a month & now i cut them in half and give each dog half daily. Best thing i ever gave my dog’s.

Can you use these like a pill pocket to wrap up an additional med?

I use them for that. Mine are soft enough. I hold them tightly in my hand. Press a chop stick into it to make a pocket. Place the pill in, give it another good squeeze, toss it to my dog and he inhales it.

Cant they sell in pill form since they taste so bad i have to wrap them in cheese?

Our dog eats them straight up never had a problem with the taste.

Can can i get daily canine dental care.

We use ora vet dental chews daily or every other day

Great supplement for dogs with joint issues!!!

This product has worked wonders in the 3-months our puppy has been using it. Her agility and movements are those before her first flare-up over a year ago. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to see if supplements might help there dogs joint issues.

We have a 2 year old lab/whippet mix puppy that was diagnosed with hip dysplasia a year ago after a flare-up. We were originally just providing her with anti-inflammatory pain pills as flare-ups happened from being a puppy and playing with other dogs.

We held off originally giving a supplement because we were dealing with other food issues related to medicines. Basically we were finding that she was very sensitive to her flee/tick and heartgard medicines. Once we got those under control, we revisited the supplement discussion with our vet and he recommended this product.

He had actually provided us several different options in nutrimax lineup, but after doing some research we found a great article that stated this particular version of a product was a great ‘starter’ supplement for dogs with joint issues. It had the least amount of side effects and a good overall combination of supplements to address issues that dogs with joint issues have.

We were not sure what to expect, but just 3 months into taking this product and we have had to give you pain meds almost not at all. She has been able to play with other dogs, run around the yard and just be a puppy without paying for that fun with pain in her hip. While we did have a little food sensitivity when she first started taking the supplement, we could not conclusively say this was due to the supplement. However, by the time we reduced down from two chews per day, to one chew per day the minor eating issues had gone away.

Great supplement but owners of picky dogs may need to do a little work.

This product was so highly recommended to me by other great dane owners and my vet so i bought it for my girl when she turned 6. (probably should have started it sooner though). She is horribly picky about food. She would not eat the “chewable” tablets at all so i had to crush them and mix it into her food, which was a pain in the butt. The next time we got the soft chews and they were easier. They easily crumble into her food. (i already give her other supplements mixed into about two tablespoons of soft food and some fish oil, and put on top of her kibble). It is simple to crumble them into that. She seems to be a bit more energetic since taking them, so i’m guessing it’s helping with her joints. She will still limp a tiny bit if she overdoes it with running. Overall, it’s a great product for large dogs. I definitely recommend it! Just wanted owners of picky dogs know that you can probably get them to eat them by doing a little work.

14yo moves like hes 10 again!!

This product was recommended by my vet. The initial doses were very expensive and i had my doubts.
It took about a month to see improvement, but the improvement is very noticable.
I stopped giving them to him for a couple weeks due to financial issues, and he slowly slid downhill.
Pained yelping when standing up, stiff movement and balance issues all returned. I felt so bad!
I got him back on the product, and he improved in less than a week!!
He runs. He used to constantly rest.
He jumps. He used to limp after.
He plays with the puppy. He used to nip at her when she tried.

This supplement saved my dogs life. And allows him to be more comfortable everyday. I highly recommend this to everyone.
I started dosing my younger dog as a prevention measure, and i’m unsure, but i actually think this is helping her with her skin issues.
If i could rate this 6 stars i would.

Adult boxer

I bought these for my 9 year old boxer. She certainly has no issue with the flavor. She gobbles them up like they’re a treat. As for the pain factor, that’s speculation but she hasn’t been taking them long enough to have an effect on her body. I decided to get them because she walks stiff legged after running around so i think she is feeling old finally. The price is good if you break it down per month.

Best joint/displasia supplement

My lab mix suffers from displasia/bad joints ever since being a puppy. We asked our very early on what we could give her to prevent issues and help with relief and she suggested this. And honestly, we saw the difference after using it and have kept her on it since. It’s not too badly priced and she loves taking it. I recommend it!

The best for my dog

I love this product. It works well for my 11 year old maltese. I started giving these to him about 4 years ago and it has done wonders for him. I would give him half of the tablet. He used to not want to go up/down the stairs or get off from the bed. Slowly after starting him on these he started to get up and move more. He recently tore his acl due to an unfortunate accident, so i now give him a whole tablet everyday. After two months from the accident, his knee looks a bit better. He is starting to put weight on the knee with the torn acl (i did not go through with surgery due to the price). I’m pretty sure these tablets have been helping him recover. I will keep buying these for my dogs.

Rock hard chews!

Vet recommended these. Have purchased several times. This last shipment was not worth sending out. The chews are rock hard and look like they have some kind of mold like stuff all over them. Pet has gotten sick several days, so stopped giving them to her. Very unhappy.

I think it helps

Our pup is 16 years old and still jumps on everything. He has arthritis in one front leg in particular and this does seem to help. I think it helps keep him moving and generally pretty comfortable.

Good

I use this for my two dogs with leg/joint issues. They don’t seem to mind taking them or the taste. They think its a treat!

My girl is back to her old self!!

My girl is happy again. I have an almost 8 yr old golden doodle who had started limping. I had her in for teeth cleaning and pointed it out to my vet. He prescribe a low dose nsaid’s for her. The limping got to a point where she was having a really difficult time getting up and limping was to the point i wanted her to be x-ray. The vets machine was down and had ordered a new one and was going to be 3 weeks. In the meantime i started looking at supplements to help with joints and came across dasequin. Ordered it and got it in and started her on it. Appointment finally happened and had started to see an improvement in her limping.
They vet referred me to an orthopedic for mild acl in right leg and mild hip dysplasia in the left leg. Before i could get her in to the ortho she had been on dasquin for four weeks and was having no signs of limping and had made a complete 180 in terms of walking, running, and getting up. I swear she acts like she did when she was a pup. She loves her new treats and i love the fact that she is back to her old self.
I cancelled the ortho appointment!!

Pricey but it works.

My cavalier / spaniel mix named hunter is 13 years old. He had hard time getting up. His hind leg joints gave him problems.
My vet recommended these treats for hunter. A month later he’s doing much better. He gets up faster and seems to have more spring in his step.
Disclaimer. My dad was giving him 2 treats a day when o ly 1 was recommended. My dad now gives him one a day. Regardless it has worked for my 13 year old dog.

Great for the dog but plan on a different container for storage.

These really seem to make a difference in our dogs movement. My only issue is the zip lock bag. The zip lock pulls away from the bag and i end up putting these in a different container.

My german shepherd likes them

Jethro is a finicky eater but he will gobble these up when given. At age 12 he is still pretty spry.

4star for now, maybe 5 star next vet visit if joint improved

My vet recommended i use this product for my chihuahua’s joint health. My dog likes the taste but it crumbles easily and falls to the floor. I have to make sure she eats it all. I like that you give a daily loading dose then one every other day. My vet recommended amazon to save me money and still get a quality product.

Works

My pitty has had bilateral knee repair and has developed arthritis on both sides. This supplement does wonders.
I was getting from the vet. Came across on amazon. Great deal for good amount.
Will continue to purchase

Dasuquin vs actistatin

I purchased these when my vet-recommended brand (actistatin) became unavailable. I use them mainly for preventive reasons at this point, so i can’t really speak to their effectiveness, esp vs the other brand. Compared to actistatin, though, there is one distinct advantage in dosage; maintenance dose is one chew a day vs two. However, the dasuquin is a really dry crumbly chew vs the moist, chewy brownie-like consistency of actistatin. That said, i crumble it up in the food and it gets eaten without complaint.

So i’ll probably ask the vet and do some more research regarding the ingredients, because if the ingredients of dasuquin are pretty much comparable to actistatin, then switching to dasuquin could end up saving a fair amount of money.

Seems to be helping our german shepard

Seem to be seeing a little bit of difference in how our german shepard has been walking. She was starting to stand slow and you could sense her back hips were starting to give her some problems. Started her on these and we have noticed she doesn’t seem to be going as slow as she was. She is 12 years old, so hopefully this will slow the progression in her hips down. We have to cut them up into her food or she won’t eat the though.

Works well!

The chunks were hard but the expiration date was valid…. Just questioning why so hard to chew for an older dog ?

One dog's experience

Nikki has been taking dasuquin daily since he was about 3 months old. He is now 7 1/2. This week he had a complete exam, looking for arthritis damage to his joints. The vet found hardly anything to indicate deterioration in his joints.
This is not a scientific study, just one dog’s experience,

Dog loves them.

Dog loves them. She thinks they are a treat. Not sure if they are really helping. She still limps occasionally.
