This was easy to load off the amazon server. It started easily & right up. I had turbotax 2019, so it began by filling in critical data carried over from 2019 and thus avoided having to re-enter this data. Very pleased, so far.
Update march 2021: i certainly found the software easier to use the second time around. I especially liked the phone-in help that i received when i ran into questions about where to enter data or interpret instructions. The software continues to update and improve over the last 2 months, some necessary because the irs has been slow to generate proper forms. The software is great for calculating questions about the need for filing amt, calculating the maximum rmd, or calculating complex tax totals with forms like the special taxes for capital gain. Without a doubt, i’ll be a repeat buyer in tax year 2021.

I paid a cpa big bucks for many years to do my personal and business tax returns. This program does a great job and allows me to do it myself and be confident i’ve done it correctly and taken all the proper deductions and depreciations i need. I’ve been using turbo tax for over 5 years now and i’m very satisfied with the program.

I’ve been using turbotax since i opened my first business in 1988. It’s changed over the years but gives me the confidence to do small business taxes year after year. In 2005 i even took them to a tax preparer just to compare.. I was looking at a hefty tax bill. Well 1200 dollars later.. Compared to turbotax line for line, i actually owed a couple dollars less…. Because i could deduct 1200 for tax prep service. But aside from that it was line for line the exact same.
So the 74 bucks i paid was equal to the 1200 i spent. So for 32 yrs and however long i continue, will trust turbotax to do the, right and cheaper.

I’ve used tt home and business for 15 years now. Great product. Some years, i have trouble installing the pc download version. Googling the issue doesn’t always help, as in the case of this year. Don’t fret. Try this first if your situation is similar to mine:

simply….disable panda antivirus. Right click on downloaded tt installer, run as administrator. After tt installs, don’t forget to enable panda antivirus.
If after trying this solution and it still brings up the error 2350, proceed with the microsoft repair tools that you will find on google.

Easy to use if you use tax software. Clunky in a verifying way. It ask to put in the serial/verification number each time i open it up.

Nothing magical about this chore facilitating software. Did its job correctly -… Hopefully.

I have used turbo tax home and business for years, both for my own form 1040 and to prepare forms w-2 for the employees of the church i attend. Once you use turbo tax, in subsequent years that you use it, all of the identity data field are automatic populated from the prior year’s input. If you have all the same payers, all you need to do is edit the amount with the current year amount. Adding and deleting entities is simple. If you shop the software, you will find amazon always has the best price.

Best retailer to get turbo tax from. You may find it later in the season for less expensive, but i usually buy in november and amazon has the best price from reputable source. Intuit usually takes a while to get forms up to date, but that didn’t stop you from getting started. The one failure i found this year is tt did not identify an answer that was wrong after the amounts were updated for 2020. So if your situation is complicated, wait until february to purchase.

I’ve used turbotax home & business software since 2015. It was difficult the 1st year. Most who have no tax experience will need help from google search & tt tech support. The 2nd year it more becomes familiar. This was my 7th year. I always do taxes for my family too. Piece of cake by now. Extremely accurate, it’s always updating so you get the latest info from irs. Highly recommend.

They don’t increase price much, but keep taking out features to force you to buy high level products.

This is great tax software. The professional reviewers all rank it tops, and i agree. After many years of using taxact i switched to turbotax and i find it much more bulletproof in its ability to handle all sorts of strange situations and to import online tax forms from w-2s to 1099s to investment forms. It not only imports these things, but enters the information for you on the appropriate forms of your return, and that is great.

But i must add that it is essential that you keep your intuit file from each year along with the actual pdf forms that it produces. Somehow this year i was not able to download last year’s information from intuit and i ended up losing lots of information. I did eventually find my native turbotax file from 2019, and that was a great relief.

At this one point, taxact beats turbotax hands down. I never had a problem just buying the next year’s version, importing previous information and going with taxact. Turbotax’s online account system is a terrible, terrible mess. It may as well not exist.

I installed this program on a fully-updated win 10 laptop. Every attempt to use the program results in a crash. I have tried to launch every function after the begin button. Each one ends in an error and then turbotax crashes. I have tried repair and uninstall/re-install with no improvement. I also downloaded a fresh copy in case the original download was corrupted in some way. For now, the software is useless to me.

I will update this review when (if?) i can get this program to work.

13 feb 2021 update: a couple of days ago, intuit provided an update to the program. When i reinstalled and downloaded the update, all the startup problems were fixed. I am satisfied. My experience with turbotax in the past has been positive, and i anticipate the same this year. I bumped the rating up from one star to four. It would have been five stars, except intuit should have never released the product before it was even minimally functional.

For the first time ever i installed turbotax home and business without any issues. Maybe they finally ‘got it’ that purchasers shouldn’t have to scour their forum to find solutions to a basic installion. I’ve sworn more than once that this is my last year using turbotax because after a certain amount of frustration you might as well just go to an accountant. I found there’s nothing else out there that compares and once i get the bugs out it does a good job for a straight forward tax situations, and i’ve filed every year with it for a long time without any kind of problem-once i get it installed and working correctly.even last year it worked great once the updates started working correctly. I do wish they would just sell it with a state filing fee just included in the price. I’d gladley pay the extra to save the extra work of logging into your account just to pay the state filing fee.

The main issue for us is that we jointly file as business owners in a sole proprietorship. If husband and wife are equally involved in a business they can split income, expenses, etc . Turbotax doesn’t split this up and it has to be manually entered every year. Would be an easy fix for them software wise and i know there are many similar small businesses out there.
Other issue is that even though state return is included the cost of filing it electronically is not. Each year there is an added charge when you get to the filing point for your state return. Seems ridiculous since that federal electronic filing is already included.

Headline says it. Software crashed twice on windows 8.
Cost to submit filing to a single state was an additional $26.69
also some error happened where it did not directly take me through filing my state taxes after submitting my federal taxes. I actually thought they were sent only to realize a day or two later that they had not been, when i saw no email status indicating they had! I’ve no clue why this time around went so awkwardly compared to previous years of filing.

Turbo tax is my go to tax software. There are still couple things i wish they would change, particularly when you have to go back and correct things. Haven’t used any other software to compare. The good thing is it is easy to use.

Seems to work correctly. A little pricey to file. About an extra $100 for electronic filing with audit protection. This is in addition to the purchase of the software.

I have been using turbo tax for 5 years and i have no complaints about its functionality

my only complaint is that the amazon offer comes with a license for quicken, but the ink to download quicken does not work. Quicken says i need to contact amazon about it so that is why i am reporting it here.
