Is there a reason why the 5 lb is so much thicker than the 2 lb? I tried the 2 lb, liked it, and order 5…outside of jug seems the same…

Get something like an ‘amir 500g/0.01g digital kitchen scale’. They’re twelve bucks & quite accurate. I suspect the powder is compressed, making the scoops a bit heavy. Measuring by weight instead of volume should provide more consistent results.

What is the flavor difference between extreme milk chocolate and double rich chocolate?

In short, extreme chocolate tastes and mixes better if you don’t mind the extra 0.5g of fat and extra ingredients.

I bought both flavors and tried exactly 1 scoop in 7 ounce of water each. I mixed both with a cup and spoon and mixing the extreme chocolate took only a few seconds with very little effort. The other took about 3 minutes to desolve as much as the other. I tried book side by side and the double chocolate tasted so watered down and a bit bitter that i need to force myself to drink it. Then, i drank the extreme chocolate and the drink was smooth and sweet. Finally, a protien shake i could drink with pleasure.

Helloo is this 100% halal?

The product is not certified as halal. All but four flavors use alcohol in the flavoring system. The ones that do not are: coffee, double rich chocolate and cake batter, but they are processed on the same equipment as alcohol-containing flavors.

Does it work??????

Does what work? It’s food. You consume it. Food is not something that works or doesn’t work. That’s something you ask about a portable egg scrambler.

How many servings in 10 lbs

*edit*depends on the flavor. Milk chocolate -142. Double chocolate -148. Mocha cappuccino – 140. Vanilla ice cream – 154. Cake batter – 146. Tropical punch – 148. French vanilla créme – 146banana cream – 146 delicious strawberry – 146rocky road – 154cookies and cream -150there are more and i can’t really keep listing every flavor. All of these answers are based on the information provided by on themselves. I might suggest using google’s search engine in the future. You would have had you answers quite a bit sooner. Or, you know, use math. 77 servings in a 5lb tub = 154 servings in a 10lb bag, etc.

Can someone confirm/deny the existence of a scoop in the 10 pound bag? Responses so far are inconsistent, at best. 🙁

There is a scoop included in the 10 pound bags of gold standard 100% whey. It is likely buried under the powder. Until located, an equivalent measurement is 4 heaping tablespoons or 1/4 cup.

Contains no peanuts or peanut butter, is this false advertising?

Because peanuts are a major allergen, we made our chocolate peanut butter flavored whey protein without using any peanuts.

Extreme chocolate milk is a good flavor?

I love the extreme chocolate milk it tastes great!!

What is the expiration date of the product?

6 months

Is the lecithin in this product egg based?

Lecithin is soy oil used as an emulsifier in the instantizing process that makes the powder easier to mix.

There are so many different flavors. What are your favorites and why?

My favorite is the vanilla ice cream, but i tend to only like vanilla flavors for any powders. You can put it in plain water and it tastes great… You can add it into other drinks (i would sometimes buy a smoothie and take it home and add the protein powder to it before drinking it… You just have to stir it well), put it on your oatmeal, etc. By using this on my oatmeal, i don’t have to add any sugar or honey. The french vanilla was ok, but for some reason i just didn’t care for it as much.

I have tried the strawberry flavor but not the strawberry creme. Is that flavor new? How does it taste. I hate to spend $30 for something i won’t like

Strawberry cream is a recently launched strawberry flavor that has more of a strawberry milkshake taste compared to the older delicious strawberry that’s more of a candy-like flavor profile.

How long can the product be used?

If it’s a mass gainer, then the protein can last indefinitely if stored in an air-tight container and the powder will last about 3 months.

Is this nsf certified?

Gold standard 100% whey is produced at company operated facilities in aurora, illinois, usa that are gmp registered and gmp for sport by nsf. The product is banned substance tested by informed choice.

What is the difference between vainilla and naturally flavored vainilla? Im looking for a mild flavor so i can add a fruit or a orange seltzer

Although i don’t know what’s the exact ingredient difference, i can definitely say the following: vanilla tastes good, but the naturally flavored vanilla tasted horrible to me (especially a weird after taste). I purchased the naturally flavored vanilla, but had to return it because of this.

Flavor recommendations!? Should i get extreme chocolate milk or vanilla ice cream? I just want something that is easy to get down. Thanks!

Ok so im drinking vanilla ice cream as we speak, i got the small 2 lb bag and, its not that good. Very like, watery. And the taste is more like you’re smelling vanilla. I can get it down i just don’t enjoy it lol

Does the product contain harmful substances?

Has anybody tried the mocha cappuccino flavor? What flavors do you recommend? The only flavor i have tried so far is the double rich chocolate.

The mocha cappuccino is my favorite. I’ve tried other flavors from different companies, but this is the only one that has been consistently good to me. I used to drink it everyday and not get tired of it.

Is this product lactose free?

No, it’s a whey product. It’s derived from dairy as the main source of protein

High caliber

I’ve read various info about being a diabetic and consuming protein powder so i might just chill on the protein powder use until i can get my diabetes under control. I know some times kidneys can have a hard time with releasing protein in the urine. Which is supposed to be bad. With that said. The taste is very good. None of that chalky taste or a bitter after taste like some powders. One reason i avoid stevia or aspartame sweetened products. It mixes well so that’s a plus. No blender is even needed. Just a shaker will do. Over all i would give this a recommendation if someone is just seeking quality whey protein added to their diet. Whey usually ranks very high among various types of protein. There’s not many nutrients in this stuff but this is a protein supplement that anyone can use. For that extra energy or building muscle. Any thing in between. It’s an isolate so it shouldn’t bother your stomach like some of the whey protein powder can.

Absolutely delicious protein powder

This is the best way to get that much needed protein after training so hard.. I’ve tried (i can’t think of exactly how many different protein powders, but trust me) a lot of different brands offering many different flavors, at various price points.. And i am not getting paid to promote this stuff.. Maybe i should try, though (lol) but this protein powder is just flat out delicious.. I used to have to talk myself into ‘shake’ time.. I’d get all ready to chase my shake with a bite of something that didn’t taste as bad.. It was getting pretty bad for a minute there.. And then, ‘ahhhh!’ (angel choir) i found o.n.’s bomb ass secret powder.. Full disclosure! I have only tried the ‘vanilla ice cream’ flavor. This is (obvi) the first flavor i tried from optimum nutrition and there was no need to look any further! And this is the most amazing part- i have got no idea how they made it taste that good and it’s only got like 4 grams of carbs in a serving.. Just the best!!

If you’re looking for a clean whey…

My husband & son have tried a lot of whey proteins that are on the market. This is the winner. This is preferred although my son likes the strawberry & vanilla varieties as well. If chocolate is sold out those are substitutes. The price on amazon fluctuates so i often find at walmart a little cheaper.

Awesome sauce! Best i’ve tried

I’ve tried only 3 protein powders in my life, and this one takes the cake for sure! No, i’m not sponsored. I take vanilla almond milk, the vanilla ice cream powder, and some fiber powder and mix it up. It reminds me of a shake that has melted, and it mixes well without a blender, so that’s amazing. Just buy it!

Greatest protein power i’ve had

This protein powder is really worth it because of its price and amount of servings also not to mention all of the ingredients. The flavor is a good 8/10 and it blends really well in the shaker bottle i have. So i really recommend you get this protein powder.

Great protein powder but has some problems

I used nitrotech before this and it doesn’t taste as good as that and not that thick either. Probably won’t buy again but does the job. Mixing also takes more effort that nitrotech

Great for me

I loved this vegan protein to add to my daily oats and pancakes for my allergic daughters.
Flavor is simple, fluffy to mix in anything.

Great to my nutrition

Good protein powder that does what it’s supposed too

Strawberries and cream 1/5 flavor can’t believe i got through that.

Extreme milk chocolate 4/5 tastes like cold hot chocolate.

Do not blend this if you drink arent making a smoothie. The froth is absolutely awful when you blend it. Shaking it works perfectly fine and it has no clumps.

I've had some 'premium' protein that i didn't care for because while it mixed great, it tasted terrible

we all know that whey protein works. It’s one of the cheapest and most convenient ways to reach your protein goals if you can’t get there with meals. ‘cheaping out’ on your whey doesn’t always pan out, as anyone who has choked down a less expensive (but clumpy) tub of protein. Paying top dollar doesn’t always guarantee positive results either. I’ve had some ‘premium’ protein that i didn’t care for because while it mixed great, it tasted terrible! I always seem to come back to on whey protein because it fits the bill on all accounts (at least for me).

—-ingredient profile—-

it’s got whey! (hey!). Around 24g of protein per scoop (~31g) you get a fair amount of protein, with the rest left over for ‘other stuff’. The ‘other stuff’ being 1g of fat and 3g of carbs, with one gram of those carbs coming from sugar. All this is from one label that i found (chocolate malt flavor), but if you look around the net at other labels of this product, you’ll see slightly different numbers. What’s up with that? The variance is most likely due to the many different flavors on has on the market. The flavor will also affect what sweetener is used, as i have seen acesulfame potassium and sucralose (better known as the brand name splenda) both alone and in combination depending on the flavor. It’s good to be aware that this variance exists, but for most it shouldn’t matter too much. I’m sure you can find other whey’s with a tighter carb/sugar/fat/protein ratio, so if you’re micromanaging your macros you might be concerned. But overall i think it’s pretty good.

On the topic of artificial sweeteners: i feel that artificial sweeteners are safe for the most part. Some people might disagree, but much of the clinical literature i have read (regarding aspartame, saccharine, and sucralose specifically) has indicated that they are safe in most people. Most problems i have heard are that people have trouble digesting large amounts of the stuff and get diarrhea. However, i feel that they are better than the amount of sugar (i.e., empty calories) it takes to achieve a similar sweetness. These are just my own thoughts and opinions, so use your best judgment.

here is where a protein powder can really shine, in my opinion. With upwards to 24 different flavors, you’re bound to find one that you like. I’ve tried a handful of them and they were great. My go-to has been the double rich chocolate, as i can add some peanut butter to it if i want to add some more calories/make it taste even better. I would recommend that you pick a flavor that you really like before investing in a 10lb bag (strawberry got old after a while).

on’s whey always mixes easily and cleanly in both milk and water, with very little (if any) clumpage. The labeling states that you can stir it up with a spoon, but i recommend sticking to a good ol’ shaker bottle. Full marks here.

dosing is easy peasy, just scoop up however much you need. One scoop per serving is pretty standard for most powders, with 24g per serving being normal as well.

i can state with great certainty that on’s protein is effective. Working in the field that i do, some jobs in the past have had me working 12 hours a day with no breaks. Oftentimes, this would be my only source of protein (and sometime my only source of nutrition, period). Despite these conditions i was still able to hit my daily protein goals. I did have some digestive issues when i first started supplementing protein, but that was mostly because i made such a drastic change in my eating habits. Those have long since subsided, and my gut bacteria enjoy processing my protein without complaint.

Also, labdoor.com (an independent supplement testing lab) gave on’s gold standard 100% whey protein an a-. I feel that the ‘minus’ comes from the inclusion of artificial sweeteners, which labdoor.com marks as ‘controversial’. As i’ve said previously, i feel these claims are overstated.

the best value is to buy in bulk, and on offers a whopping 10lb bag for around $110 on amazon. That averages out to about 75 cents a serving, so i feel that i’m getting my money’s worth. The most commonly carried size by most brick-and-mortar stores is the 5lb tubs, but sizes go all the way down to a 1.8lb package if you aren’t a monster consumer like myself. Do note that not all flavors are carried in all sizes, as the 10lb bags are limited to around 5 flavors.

—-side effects—-

you might experience some cramping if you’re new to supplementing protein, but that’s usually because your body is getting used to processing protein in such a large bolus. It should pass fairly quickly. For those that still have problems, you might have issues processing whey in general. I have heard of people having success in switching to other protein sources such as soy in these cases.

if you want a whey protein that is affordable, mixes well, tastes great, and works, look no further. While you can probably find some other whey’s with a slimmer carb profile, it won’t beat on’s gold standard by much. Highly recommended.

Works great, i noticed a difference almost immediately

Flavors are descent, not too sweet, i’ve tried the double chocolate and the chocolate peanut butter so far

Chocolate peanut butter is disgusting

Milk chocolate is good and i generally like gold standard protein but the peanut butter chocolate is disgusting. It doesn’t even resemble the taste of peanut butter. There is not even a derivative of peanut butter in the ingredients. Just tastes like a chemically laden failed lab experiment to create a peanut butter flavor.

Great when mixed

I really like this brand of whey protein. I have figured out that there is a difference in the flavors and mixing quality. The extreme milk chocolate does not mix as smoothly as the vanilla ice cream. The vanilla doesn’t taste as good as the milk chocolate. If you mix the two together you get whey perfection. I use an empty container to mix them about 50/50. It is just like drinking a chocolate milkshake with great texture when blended with milk. I personally recommend getting a hand held mixer for this. They work great.

Great but insane prices

I like this brand because you don’t need multiple scoops for a 24-30g serving of protein, but the prices on this have gone just absolutely off the rails. I don’t like supporting companies that price gouge so bad but they are better than the competition. This stuff is nearly $20 more expensive than it was a year ago. Totally nuts.

Good looking for the money.

Quality is very good and has suede material from inside, so your smartphone doesn’t get scratched later. Only thing i wish it had just a little bit higher in the corners for protection wise.

I would get another one if i need as i haven’t found good ones for this model nowadays.
