Is the brush head round or oval. For a small mouth, i need a round head.

There are 5 or 6 braun head types for these handles. The ‘precision clean’ is the smallest and is completely round. The others are all slightly oval in shape and they are the 3d white, cross action, floss action dual clean, and clean sweep. I think that the whole list. Just search on amazon for oral-b pro 1000 replacement heads and you’ll see them all. They all fit all the different handles – as long as you do not have a ‘sonic’ type handle. I like the precision clean, 3d-white and floss action the best and have all three in the drawer.

I need a 220-240 voltage oral b electric toothbrush does anyone know if this toothbrush has such an option? I do not want to use a converter.tks

Easy peasy! You can buy a 3rd party 110-240 volt charger on-line for about $10-25. Keep in mind–the toothbrush has a rechargeable battery–it’s not a specific voltage, that’s provided by the battery charger.
These chargers are identical in weight/size/appearance to the 110 that comes with the us product. You will need to stick on a plug adapter for other countries, as these come with us plugs.
Since i live in the us, i keep this charger in my travel kit.

Has anyone had issues with the timer not working on this toothbrush? I have bought 2 and the toothbrush will not turn it self off.

Mine does not turn it self off, it pauses 4 times (4 regions of the mouth) then stutters the 5th time a couple times and keeps going. I didn’t think it was supposed to turn it self off. I wouldn’t want it to either because after the four regions i keep going on my tongue roof of mouth then just hit the button that my finger is already resting on to turn it off. Not an issue

I have had mine for about 6 years and now it won’t hold its charge for more than 20 seconds. What is the normal life of this toothbrush?

I have had this toothbrush for 26 months, the charge now lasts for 5 days before the light starts to blink indicating recharge is necessary, i have been using the brush 2 x per day for the full 2 minutes each time i brush for the last few months, before that i would only go about 30-45 seconds, last trip to the dentist she told me to go the full 2 minutes, so i have been. I think i will try to get another year out of the toothbrush, having the cord out all the time gets in the way in my bathroom.

Is the toothbrush waterproof

My experience has been that every thing seems waterproof. This is after using these for almost 20 years. I even stick the base in the sink to scrub toothpaste build up off. I’ve even done this with it plugged in, but why tempt fate. I have not used the toothbrush while underwater in a swimming pool.

Is it soft, medium or hard brush

Several brush head replacements are available. I’ve seen a normal, soft and floss brush. I like the floss version but it is a little firmer than the others.

Anyone know why this item increase in price by over $20.00? I bought it for $34.00 this summer. Left it behind on vacation and need a new one.

Brush heads for pro1000

All fit.

Will all oral-b brush heads work on all oral-b toothbrushes?

All oral-b brush heads will work on the pro 1000. I don’t know if that goes for other models.

How many brushes come with the oral b pro?

One but i just ordered and received 12 replacement heads of 3 different types (floss action, cross action and pro white; 4 each) for under $15. Here’s the link:

i think it’s a great deal!

How many pulsations/min does the oral-b 1000 have? According to oral-b’s website, it has 40,000 pulsations/min, just like the 3000, 4000, and 5000. But for some reason, the amazon description shows a graphic that lists the 1000 model as only having 20,000 pulsations/min. Does amazon ship an older model that only has…

Oral-b’s website shows 40,000 pulsations/min, as the original question states. However, since another major retailer also shows it having only 20,000 p/m, decided to call oral-b and ask. The response: in canada, it’s 40,000 p/m, but the us model is only 20,000 p/m.

Do you have to angle it 40° like the regular manual toothbrush?

Not sure what you mean, but probably on the back teeth.

Does this product have a option for heads with ultra soft bristles?

I don’t know, but the brush head that came with it is awesome and seems soft enough to me. I ordered a 3-pac of extra brushes with it and so far i am still using the first brush. It has been 3 months. Here is a tip. I clean and spray the brush with alcohol after every use. I am 66 years old.

Does this toothbrush come with the base?

Yes. The base is how you charge your handle.

Does the brush go round and round or back an forth?

Nobody has posted the correct answer yet. Unbelievable. It oscillates 45 degrees back and forth, 8,800 times per minute. It also does 20,000 sonic pulsations every minute.

How does crud form on the charger?

Residual toothpaste can harden over time and form a black, brown, pink or grey, chalk-like coating on the metal shaft of the handle, the rubber, or in the joints and other places including on the charger. Toothpaste and/or water may also collect on the brush head, handle or on the surface of the charger, leaving a residue. This buildup may be colored depending on your toothpaste and water hardness. Be sure to thoroughly clean your brush after every use and allow it to fully dry.

I charged the unit initially for 24 hrs. The flashing green light went off. After brushing only once, the light is now flashing again. Should it?

Your brush should blink green during charging. When charging is complete, the blinking should stop. Give us a call at (800) 566-7252 for any further help.

Is this product fsa eligible?

Per fsa: electric toothbrush – expenses paid for the purchase of electric toothbrushes are reimbursable when submitted with a medical diagnoses. Electric toothbrush replacement brushes are not reimbursable.

How do you know when it’s fully charged? I think it probably has something to do with the green light. Also, how often should i change the brush head

When the tooth brush is on the charger it will flash green on the toothbrush while its charging. When it’s fully charged it will stop flashing.
It will blink red when the battery is low. A full charge takes about 24 hours, and it will last about a whole week. You don’t need to keep the toothbrush on the charger everyday. It’s actually recommended not to do that, and to use the battery until it blinks red.

It’s recommended to change the brush head every 3 months.

Does it have a chargeable base (that is included) and comes with a cord and plugs into an outlet?

Yes, it is a rechargeable unit which includes the base charger that plugs into a standard 120 volt wall socket.

Great speed and pressure!

I’ve been using an oral-b battery operated circular toothbrush for over 6 month and i loved it, but it broke down on me 3 times. Finally after reading tons of reviews and also not wanting to spend too money, this toothbrush seemed to fit my needs best. It’s only been a few days, but it’s great! I especially like that the spinning pressure seems lighter/softer making it easier to put a little more pressure around my gums when i have to. Its definitely louder than any toothbrush i’ve ever own but that doesn’t bother me. Just don’t try to break into my house while i’m brushing my teeth because i won’t hear you. Haha!

Good product

I have owned sever of these over the years and they are well made. I would recommend that you do not spend the extra money for the fancier models as they do not clean you teeth any better. In some case they fanciers models do not hold a charge as long because of the extra battery drain to run the lights and so on.

True longevity & happy to purchase 2 more

Oral-b pro 1000 rechargeable toothbrush has not disappointed me. I’ve had my own since 2019. It still functions beautifully. The one thing i’ve noticed is the battery charge doesn’t last as long as it did when it was new. I could go 2 weeks or more without charging. Now it’s about 1 week & i need to charge. I do brush morning & night for the full 2 minutes. I love everything about it. I don’t have sensitive teeth thus my teeth can handle the deep cleaning it provides. I really don’t recommend this if you do have sensitive teeth as i feel it would be too harsh. The timing function works wonderfully for it tells me when to move onto the next area of my mouth. ••to prevent a yukky mess that drips down i have learned 2 things: i thoroughly run water under the brush while it’s running to fully clean it. This, however, doesn’t prevent yuk from your brushing from forming down where the brush head meets the toothbrush. I became tired of a toothbrush that had dried toothpaste on it even though i thought cleaning the head was enough. Unfortunately the yuk does collect at that area & begins the mess. To prevent that i do now take the head of the brush every time i use it now. I just sit in to side in a dry cloth. Hence a clean brush.
Since my purchase i’ve purchased 2 more. One for my husband who was told by his dentist he needed an electric toothbrush because he was developing gingivitis. He loves it because it’s so easy to brush now. The toothbrush does all the work. At first he was doing the brushing & ruined the head a little. So a reminder this does the brushing for you. You only need to move the brush around your mouth. Since having mine i haven’t had one cavity. One thing my hygienist did mention when i first got it was i wasn’t getting high enough to my upper gums. Now i make sure i do. I also purchased one for my 15yo son as his pediatric dentist said it was okay & recommended that he start early with an excellent choice in toothbrushes. For $50- the price hasn’t changed since 2019 – this is well worth getting. For multiple reasons as i feel i thoroughly cleans my teeth. Once i began using this my mouth felt clean & fresh & it does every time i use it. I also feel using an electric toothbrush has saved $ i’d be spending on dental bills. The cost always swayed me away from making the purchase but i’m glad i did. Obviously since mine still works since 2019 there’s definite genuine quality with oral-b. The box does state it comes with a 2 year limited warranty & there is a 60 day risk free trial. The paperwork details are in the box. For all i’ve written i highly recommend this oral-b electric toothbrush & i don’t feel you’ll be disappointed. ••i do not purchase genuine oral-b brush heads. From the beginning i’ve purchased a generic version from amazon which have worked perfectly. My pictures reflect how nicely it’s packaged upon its arrival.

Got just what a person needs.

This toothbrush has only one speed. That’s why i like it. I have two other brushes with multiple speeds but i never use any of the other speeds. I just use the fastest speed and that’s it. Occasionally i accidentally depress the multi speed button on the other brushes and have to reset the speed. This can be annoying.

Loving this toothbrush!

My sister recommended it, and i was skeptical, but i love it! Cleans well, easy to use, cleans places well where a normal toothbrush doesn’t like where my permanent retainer is and the teeth in the back, massages gums and makes me brush longer. Very happy with this purchase!

Great toothbrush

This works great. My dental checkups have proven it. If you are worried about mold, clean it, that is all you have to do. Remove brush head and run hot water though it and let it dry before putting back on handle. I would buy this again.

I have had this toothbrush for 4 years now – still works!!!

Ownership after 4 years on this brush. – they still work fine!

Does the job! My teeth feels clean and smooth everyday with this toothbrush. I wish i had an electric way before!! I use aftermarket non-oem toothbrush heads on these.

I love oral b, and my dentist agrees

I haven’t actually used this one; i’m still using the oral b i bought over 20 years ago. I just wanted a back-up. Being 63 years old, i’m not sure i will need one, given the extrordinary lifespan of these.

Very pleased with the results at an attractive price.

Solid performer at a very reasonable. Limited bells and whistles, just a solid electric tooth brush. Very pleased.

So clean but horrible timer

This brush cleans so well but i find it to be so annoying! First let me tell you how well it cleans and then i’ll tell you what bothers me.
With this brush, my teeth are cleaner than they have ever been in my life. My teeth are so clean that they look like mr wilson’s fake ‘gum teeth’ from the move dennis the menace. My mouth is so clean that my breath tastes fresh. The charger is great too and it’s a wireless charge. Here’s the main thing i dislike though. I absolutely do not like that brush timer. I use the brush and i’m in the middle of a relaxing brushing session when all of the sudden i hear and feel in my mouth ‘wah, wah , wah’ while the brush starts to slow it’s rpm and vibrate. It does this continually during the brushing cycle and i find it to be super distracting. I understand that the reasons behind this timer are to help my time when to brush but it would be nice if this option could be turned off. As much as i dislike this feature, i’ll continue to use this brush until i find something better because it does such an amazing job cleaning my teeth.

It's loud!

I just got this toothbrush after a decade of using a sonicare. I think all in all, it is great. I actually like the rounded head better and feel like it will keep me from being such an aggressive brusher, which has caused me problems with gum retention. The rounded head kind of requires that you just move it around instead of pressing down aggressively and ‘brushing’. My teeth feel really clean, but the sucker is undoubtedly loud. Many reviews said that, but it is probably even louder than i expected. My husband said he didn’t think it was that loud. So just be prepared, but other than that, seems to work great so far.

Works fine

I ordered a replacement for my previous oral-b because i thought the switch was wearing out. I had to press it really hard to turn it on and off. While that’s true this new one is hard to press on and off as well. Maybe it’s me and my fingers don’t work as well because i’m getting a little arthritic in my hands. It works fine, but i don’t know if i’m a fan of the small round head since this is my first time using that style. One of the things that surprised me was how bright the light is when it is on the charger. It pulses and lights up the whole bathroom at night. I don’t like that since i’m not trying to land a plane so i take it off the charger at night.

Better cleaning than a regular brush

I bought this electric toothbrush per my dentist recommendation as i have gingivitis. Overall, i think this toothbrush gives me better results than a regular toothbrush and it is not so harsh on my gums. This is my first electric toothbrush and it was really easy to adapt. There is a timer that indicates when moving to another area of the mouth.
I haven’t actually seen any difference between modes so i can’t actually speak about it. The battery last about 4-5 days.
I had a problem with my charger but it got replaced by customer service and now is working fine.

4Expert Score
Great for the price

This toothbrush really does a great job cleaning your teeth. You’ll feel like you just left the dental hygienist’s chair (if you floss first). I took off a star because it’s advertised to have a 2-minute timer function and several different modes (daily cleaning, whitening, sensitive) and it has neither. If those things are important to you, look elsewhere.

So far so good

I bought this to replace a roto-dent which did a good job but is expensive to buy and replacement brushes are $15+ each. I got tired of those brushes jamming on first or early use so i looked for something else. The oral b has heavier bristles and is much more robust. Not sure if the heavy bristles are a good thing for gums but do a great job on your teeth. The literature says it lasts 2 weeks on a charge. I tested this and got 4 or 5 days (twice a day). However, i don’t care. The stand is also the charger so using the stand means constantly keeping it fully charged. Some batteries last longer with deep cycle charging. We’ll see how long this lasts before it needs replacing.

4Expert Score
Cleans well but loud

This is my first electric toothbrush and after my first use, my teeth felt incredibly clean. The timer is functional and useful. But man – this thing is loud. Loud enough that when my husband is brushing his teeth in the adjacent bathroom, i can’t hear the tv. Not sure if that’s normal for an electric toothbrush but it’s something to consider.

4Expert Score
Interesting new feature; good but noisy

I purchased this toothbrush to replace a similar model that had lasted me a good few years. I feel this is just as good as the toothbrush i replaced, but it is much noisier than the older toothbrush. One new feature that i am pleased with is that the toothbrush will make a little extra beeping-ish noise every 30 seconds and then a longer one at two minutes. This is helpful if you want to spend 30 seconds on each quadrant of you your mouth when brushing and seems to make the two minutes pass more quickly.

Good toothbrush good value

My kid needed an electric toothbrush and this was a good value. Got as a gift. She likes it.

Very disappointed in amazon gift list! You would think would be like a registry and that when an item purchased, would be removed from the list! Many duplicate purchases! Very disappointed!
