Original HP 63 Black/Tri-color Ink (2-pack)

I am a loyal hp printer consumer for many years. This product is a 2 pack with black and tri-color deskjet ink cartridge which makes it value for your money. The print quality is good depending on the usage of prints. I always have my printer settings on ‘draft’ to prolong the ink cartridge lifeline. This is not a easy find as i would have to either go to staples or amazon.com for purchase.

My big mistake was, i should have ordered 61. No fault of hp.
I use all their products otherwise. 🙂

It’s ink. It is what our printer needs. Overpriced for ink, but trust since its the real brand and not a refill.

Update 7/4/2022: our household no longer purchases these ink cartridges because we were gifted a canon laser printer for christmas. We absolutely love our laser printer and i cannot believe we spent so much time and money using inkjet printers for all of these years.

our old hp all in one printed used hp 63 ink cartridges. This is a 2 pack of cartridges which contains one tri-color ink cartridge and one black ink cartridge. Make sure you order directly from amazon if you want authentic hp ink cartridges. Many third party sellers are selling fake cartridges.

I learned the hard way not to order hp ink cartridges from third party sellers. On more than one occasion i received cartridges that looked like authentic hp cartridges but that my all in one printer did not recognize as authentic cartridges. They last a lot shorter period of time than real hp ink cartridges.

The page yield for these cartridges is 190 pages. These cartridges do not print anywhere near that number of pages before running out of ink. Printing only in black and white i get an average of 100-120 pages per cartridge. Printing in color i get an average of 60-75 pages per cartridge.

If you do not use your hp printer on a regular basis your ink cartridges will dry out and your prints will start to look sloppy. You can try a couple of cleaning procedures on your printer but more often than not you will have to replace your ink cartridges.

In our house we have a general rule to print at least one black and white and one color page a week to keep the ink cartridges from drying out. Ink cartridges are expensive and you don’t want to have to replace them all the time because the ink dries out.

I am impressed with the print quality of the hp 63 black ink cartridges. They produce high quality black and white documents with solid lettering without whiting on the print. When your ink cartridge starts running low you will start to see whiting on your print and you know it’s time for new ink.

I am less impressed with the print quality of the hp 63 tri-color ink cartridges. It doesn’t matter if the printer is brand new, recently cleaned, or recently aligned there is always some gaps in the color printing, especially when you are printing large areas of a single color such as a background color.

Unlike the hp 63 black ink cartridges, the hp 63 tri-color ink cartridges do not give you much warning when they are almost out of ink. Instead your page will print with black outlines and white inside where the colors should be. Then you know it’s time to change your ink cartridge.

As with most hp ink cartridges both the hp 63 black and tri-color ink cartridges require you to align your printer after you put in new cartridges. The alignment process varies depending on the model of your printer, but it’s always a waste of ink in my opinion. Cleaning your printer also wastes a lot of ink.

I only ever use authentic hp 63 ink cartridges in my old all in one printer (except the time i got fake cartridges unknowingly) so i cannot speak to whether or not the prints are of a higher quality than you would get with a generic ink cartridge. Hp 63 ink cartridges are expensive if you do a lot of printing.

At the end of the day it is possible to get an authentic combo pack of hp 63 ink cartridges on amazon if you order them directly from amazon and not a third party. I just wish that hp would be more honest about the page yield for their ink cartridges.

Hp ink cartridge: original product always dependable & quality

When package arrived all sealed up. Open and the out box for the cartridges was seal no evidence of being opened. Opened and found the tri color package was open when installed in printer it used cartridge installed. Work fine and is almost full of ink. Just want to let you know.

The ink is genuine hp ink, which meant that it went well with my printer. It prints in a good quality and in a fast manner of time. It’s a bit pricey however. Other than that, i would recommend this to my friends.

The price and quality are great but the color cartridge runs out much faster than the black cartridge. Most of what i print is black and white documents so it doesn’t make sense that the color ink runs out faster. I’m happy with the price because it’s cheaper than stores in our area but it is a drawback that the color ink runs out faster. Print quality is great though!
