How do you prime them?

A lot of people think these markers are dried but that’s not true. When they arrive the nibs/tips are white. That tells you you have a brand new posca which is a good thing.
To get the posca to work you would have to first
– shake the posca well
– take off the cap and have paper ready to catch any paint flow
-take your posca and pump it by pressing down the tip of the posca on the paper. Don’t press with force, press it up and down until you see the paint flowing down to the tip of the posca. If it doesn’t reach the tip keep pumping. Usually a 3-4 pumps should do it.
– once the paint reaches the tip you’re all set to go.

A helpful hint to keep these posca always moist is to keep them upside down not right side up. Most off close cap until u hear a snap. Posca are great but once they’re dry there useless unless you get another nib/tip. Hope this helps someone

This smear when i put on dodge dodge, does that happen to anyone else

If you meant mod podge, yes i have had it smear if you don’t allow the paint to dry completely before touching or adding more colors/lines. However once dry the pen lines will no longer smear. I have used these pens to sign artwork of many different mediums and they work great. I always do a starter push on a scrap piece of paper to avoid a gush of paint when getting started.

The description says ‘reversible tip to ensure a long life’. Is this really possible?

Yea. It’s just the same on both ends. So u just flip it if it starts to get old and worn. If it gets stopped up then it won’t helps, you’ll need to clean it instead.

Will these write on resin?

Yes, i am pretty sure they will write on resin, but not sure how long it would last, would probably have to seal the writing

Are these refillable?

Yes , i have never refilled . I belong to a rock group and many people refill.

Broad point available?

Yes, uni posca white = 3 different point sizes per pack: pc-1m(0.7 mm), 3m(0.9~1.3 mm), 5m(1.8~2.5 mm)

Would this work on fabric?

Probably, but probably ruin your fabric.

Does these dry matte?

Yes

Can i paint on a vinyl garden flag with these pens?

Yes you can.. They are amazing

Are the tips fine or fat? I am going to paint rocks with them and want to to outline drawings.

I would recommend the extra fine point set. I have both sets and the extra fine worked so well on painting rocks. I used them for that too! They even show up better and you can not only draw but can outline your drawing as well. I’ll post some photos of mine in a moment and write a quick review if you want to see. It will be under the uni post extra fine point set. These are really awesome paint pens! The fine point is better for larger projects or filling in larger spaces. Some colors of the fine point set were a little more see through. Love my extra fine point set

Delivery time frame says anywhere from 2-4 weeks. Did it take the full time to be delivered or was it quicker then stated?

Pretty sure they can from japan so it did take awhile, maybe 3 weeks

Are these authentic posca pens?

As far as i know they are authentic, they flow like paint coming out of the tip, very cool

Does posca make gray scale markers?

My 1st pkg i bought 3 or 4?yrs ago lasted along time i still have a few then i bought a pkg this yr and time i opened they were dried up and missed deadlines to return by a few weeks. So i wasted my money

Does this include the color purple?

I dont remember i hated the pens and threw all my pens away. They dont last long only work on paper nothing else

Are these water-based paint or acrylic based paint?

It is a water-based paint

What is the difference between the posca and the uni posca?

Posca are usually oil based and the uni posca are acrylic which is the more popular choice of the two for most artists! I hope this helps!

Do they work on acrilic paint?

They are acrylic paint pens. Work great on rocks. I usually spray paint rocks before drawing on them with the pens.

Is this removable? If i write on desks in my classroom, how do you remove it?

These are not removable.

If used on glass, do you have to cure it? My husband wants to add detail to a stained glass project.

Thank you for your inquiry.

I am not familiar with the stained glass process, so i may not be able to give you a definitive answer, but i will give you a product description from the uni website.

It is as follows

Handy for all diy/decor

I love them. They work wonderful. Took some time to get them to start, but i handed them off to my s.o. Who started them & tested them out for me in my sketchbook 🙂

tips:
if you are going to use something like plastic in your diy, i may suggest you sand it a bit so it can adhere a bit better. Especially if you plan on making something permanent (like a light switch cover or a jar).
If you are using it on plastic, after it dries, you can chip away at it to make some cool effects or fix a mistake. If you do this though, use something that is just sharp enough and precise enough to do what you need.
This is water based, so if you truly mess up, you could wipe it away and start over. Probably could not do that on wood or something that may absorb it, but you could go over it after it dries.
Layering colors – be warned! If you have a heavy hand and put a lot of pressure, you will chip away the paint you have already put down. I suggest letting each layer completely dry and use very soft pressure. Go over as needed.
Using black! Use this color last! As i mentioned before, when layering, colors can chip away. You can also pick up the color black if you have not let the layer dry completely. You can go over black, but you just might mix your colors up.
If you are doing something like shown in the picture, i would use a really good gloss paint (or matte) after everything has totally dried. Do the spraying in layers. Let it set totally for 2/3 days so that you don’t ruin or smudge your hard work.

Nice markers

My son saw these on youtube and so i ordered them for him as he loves to draw. These markers are super nice and bold and seem to write on any surface. Recommend!

Great product, great quality

I purchased a set of these three years ago. Just found them. They still work! Felt is still good, and ink still flows (with a bit of priming to get them started).
Overall they have a very high opacity and write well on any surface. Like most paint markers you have to be mindful to keep the marker pointed down or you’ll have feed problems, but yeah, they’re great! They aren’t ‘permanent’, so won’t hold up to too much abuse, but it sticks to most surfaces well enough to handle light touching.

Flawless colors .. Easy to use in worth the price

Not for stamps

Tried it on stamps (the red shapes in my photos) and the coverage was too uneven. I wouldn’t recommend it for stamps. (by the way, the red is so bright that it almost looks pink.)

the white is beautiful on kraft paper. I used them to customize easy and cheap kraft paper tablecloths for thanksgiving, which was also an activity for the kids.

If you like the autumn maple leaves in my photos, they are asin b07hn4mcls.

Good product. I will purchase again

They are the easy to use, but when erasing the pencil marks the ink moves making it look like a mess

In the second photo you can see that the ink sorta messed up when i was erasing, other than that it’s a good product!

Nice:)

Some of the pens let out a lot of paint when you press down on them which sucks but u can still us it ig- other than that the pens r great :>

Good paint pens

Had problems with ink coming out in a big drop and need a darker red. They flow smoothly once you get them started.

Amazing!

Posca pens make painting so much quicker and easier! You can make fine details so much better than with a normal paintbrush, you don’t need to do multiple coats, and it drys so quickly! I would suggest using it on plastic or plastic-like things because when you use it on paper it really just looks like a marker and you end up wasting your posca when you could have just used a marker. Other than that, the only thing i would say is that the longer it drys the easier it is to scratch off, so for best use i would try and draw pretty quickly and let it dry for 2 minutes (that’s about the time it takes for the posca paint to fully dry, which is amazing!!) and then coat it with mod podge (https://www.amazon.com/cs11201-mod-podge-8-ounce-1-pack/dp/b003w0xr8m/ref=sr_1_2?crid=fhp8rrnuci6&dchild=1&keywords=mod%2bpodge&qid=1603559148&sprefix=mod%2bpo%2caps%2c211&sr=8-2&th=1) so that the paint is protected and won’t be scratched off. If you want to do some artwork that will take more than 2 minutes, i would suggest just finishing it a section at a time and then coating that section with mod podge. Anyway, it’s a really awesome product!

Good paint markers

They do the job very well. Some of the best colors in terms of not being faded or cheap. They are very vibrant. But can be a little hard to use at first.

Colorful opaque paint markers

(note: this is the same review i used for the posca bold paint markers.)

when they call these markers ‘bold’ they mean bold! Like goldilocks, i have tried two sizes (of posca paint markers) and found them not what i was looking for. The ‘fine’ size have tips that are smaller than (for a common point of reference) the sharpie ‘fine’ point (the typical sharpie we all know and love). These ‘bold’ one each have a wedge tip which is similar in size to what used to be known as ‘magic markers’, which makes them great for filling in large areas of color. The tube is chunky–about an inch in diameter–unlike any other marker i have ever used.

Now, for the paint itself…it is opaque and bright and, once dry, similar in feel to poster paints or gouache. If you want to layer colors or lay down two colors side-by-side, you need to let the paint dry, which happens fairly quickly, but not instantly like a solvent-based marker. They’re great for layering over other media, like solvent markers, watercolors and collaged bits. I’ve read they’re good for other surfaces, though the only other surface i’ve tried them on is printmaking paper. (not a success: the big wedge tip abraded the soft surface of the print paper, leaving a trail of little colored rolls.)

they make a good addition to my marker collection, doing something (laying down opaque marks over other colors) that the others can’t do. I will most likely buy the medium size, finding them just right.

Work very well

I used these pens to paint the outlet covers in my room, although they can take a while to set up it was completely worth it. The paint applied well and didn’t run at all. I got some on my skin on accident, but it washed off incredibly easily. I would recommend these if you don’t mind have to wait to set it up and for layers to dry, as if you do go back over a still wet layer it will erase the paint as expected. My only complaint is that the pack doesn’t come with an orange or purple pen which i can absolutely overlook.

4Expert Score
Paint pens were slow to start…

I was disappointed when i first tried to use these pens. Only 3 out of 8 had instant paint flow to the tips. But i put them back in the box and set them tilted tip side down in a bowl until the next day. Then i found each pen worked as they should. It would be helpful to add a slip of paper with directions in english on how not only to start the paint flowing, but how to trouble shoot if they don’t immediately work. I will purchase these pens again.
