Looking for specific info?

Is there a square mold option you can buy separate for this?

There is no such possibility yet. But i hope that this opportunity will be available soon.

Hello. I need an ice cube mold for 55mm spheres. (2.17in). Each mold can be for 4 spheres or more. Do you sell it?

Hello. Thank you for your interest in our product.
Unfortunately, we only sell an ice maker with mold for 6 mm spheres .
We hope you will find the product you need.
Sincerely,
berlinzo team

Are there additional molds for other shapes for purchase…?

While this is not possible.

What’s the point of the foam insulation?

It’s supposed to slow the freezing process to allow the ice to form from the inside out. This is the key to producing clear ice.

There is no water fill line on our product. Does anyone know how much water should be added for 4 ice balls?

I fill it completely then pour off the excess in the top. I also discovered the ice balls come out better if you clear the old ice in the bottom befor starting again. I run some hot water to dissolve the old ice.

Works great but mine melt around the seam faster, looking like a macaron cookie. Anyone know why?

Not sure about the cause of your issue. But i use filtered water and i actually fill it up more and let it freeze for more than 48 hours even though 48 hours is still adequate.

The bottom has a flat surface? Why is that?

Not sure what you mean by ‘the bottom’ – the external portion is flat so as to sit in the freezer and not tip over. The inner mold is shaped to fit within the external insulation. The ice spheres themselves are not flat they are spherical.

Where can i just buy the molding i already have the same brand container?

Thanks for your message!
This option will be available in 3 months or so.
We will notify you when we have completed the preparation process and the product will be available for purchase. There will be different kinds of ice shapes.
Thanks for your waiting.
Sincerely,
berlinzo team.

Does the one ball model comes with the storage bag?

I believe the single ice ball maker just comes with the maker itself. The multiple ice ball makers will come with storage bag. All info was from the website. Hopefully this was helpful

Are the ice storage bags sold separately? Thank you.

Thank you for your question, the package will be available in 10-15 days. Please follow the updates here – https://www.amazon.com/dp/b0b948t91v

I bought the 2 sphere mold. Can i just purchase the rubber mold for the squares? This should be an option if not

Hello. Thanks for your question.
At the moment this option is not available. We will notify you if we provide such opportunities.
Sincerely,
berlinzo team.

Is the entire unit dishwasher safe?

Thanks for your question. Yes, the silicone mold is dishwasher safe on the bottom rack.

?? Your advertisement says to use tap water yet comments here are using distilled water

I’ve always used warm tap water and it works great

It is almost impossible to remove the silicone molds. It takes 2 people to hold and wiggle mold loose. How do you reomove properly?

It can be a pain in the ass to get the molds out. Run some warm (not hot) water around edges.

Why does the seller constantly upmark the price so they can make it look like its on sale?

Seems like every seller is doing that lately

Does this really make clear that ice balls?

It does. Most of the time i use warm tap water but even with cold tap water the balls come out absolutely clear. Need a solid 36 hour plus to form good ice balls.

Can i but just the bag????

Not from this kit

How much time does it take to make the ice balls?

The directions say 24 hours and i haven’t tried to take them out sooner. Judging from the ice frozen beneath them that time is about right

I have 2 questions? The one that makes 2 ice balls or the one that makes 4 ice balls, in which the ice comes out more crystalline and the other which

I only see one question. Can’t really tell as i only have the one that makes 2 balls. I can tell you it works very well and the ice is crystal clear . I doubt it there’s a difference between the one that makes 2 and 4 . It’s more of a size preference. 4 is more efficient but significantly larger in size.

Removing ice, tried more water less water, pulled so hard the silicone is starting to tear. Any suggestions?

Alternate, slowly lifting each side just a tiny bit at a time. It could take 8 or 10 slow pulls. Once you work it up about 3/4 of an inch you can pull it straight out. Best of luck, the ice cubes are so worth it!

Clear round ice cubes

Easy to use, made two test runs, first test run was great, second was 98%. Difference between the two, on the second batch, there was ice in the bottom up to the bottom of the mold. During the freezing process i believe this affected (frosted not clear) the bottom 5% of the ice cube. Setting up for test 3. Will remove all the ice in the bottom before starting. It take over 24hrs to freeze, i’m estimating a minimum of 30hrs. I also use hot water off the stove, i don’t boiled it, i bring the water up to the point when bubbles start to form on the bottom of the pan, pull it off then pour in the bottom of the plastic basin up to the bottom of slotted grove. Slowly insert the mold and allow water to gently fill the mold from bottom up. Do not force down or hot water will gush out from the sides and the top vent hole. Enjoy!

Who wants normal every day ice cubes when you can have ice balls?

The invention of the automatic ice maker is a godsend in my book. Though it gets boring when you have the same old ice maker machine ice for when you want an ice-cold drink in a nice glass.

And then, in steps the berlinzo clear ice ball maker mold, and you have fancy-dancy ice balls for your fancy drinks.

While it is not automatic, you have to fill this mold and its holder with water, then place it in the freezer for up to 24 hours, indeed it works. My first ice ball was terrific, now my second one was not so great, but that was my fault, as i did not dump the ice that formed in the base of the holder out and start fresh with all water. Not sure why, but i see in other comments on the page that it needs to breathe.

It was an easy process, to clean the mold and holder when i took it out of the box, filled the holder with water, inserted the mold into the holder, and placed it in my freezer. Just make sure you have room in your freezer for the holder, it is a tad bulky. The next day i took it out, opened it up and there was a perfect ice ball. I have read some comments that the ice did not come out clear, for me it did, using only washington dc city tap water. I wonder if i use fancy bottled water if the ice will be even better.
The only downside i see is it makes one ice ball at a time, and it takes 24 hours. Fine if you want to drink alone or are thinking far enough ahead that you take several days to make several ice balls for drinks with friends. Though i see on their site they have a two-ice ball mold set up as well. For now, i will continue to make one ice ball a day and put the ice ball in my freezer ice storage bucket. I took several out that i made day after day, and they were all just fine.

I am pleased with the ease of use, the quality of materials, and the finished product that the mold makes. I like its well-designed packaging, and the shipping on amazon was quick and no hassle. This is a great housewarming gift, or general gift, for a friend who likes to make nice drinks. You don’t have to drink alcohol to have a nice-looking drink with ice in it, it will be great for an arnold palmer-style drink. I think kids will get a kick out of these ice balls in their drinks too, it will make them feel so grown up. I am looking forward to making a bunch of ice balls and having them stacked up in a glass ice container for a future event.

I think you will enjoy this product as much as i have, and am going to this fancy-dancy drink season!

Sexy clear ice balls

I finally found the perfect way to make those sexy clear ice balls.. We saw them at cut restaurant in las vegas and i fell in love with how they made my drink look so me and my fiancé went on a mission to recreate them. From boiling the water before making the cubes to adding oxygenated water, nothing worked. This does!!! I guess the trick is that this device envelopes the ice balls in water while they are freezing and when you remove the ice balls that water is still unfrozen somehow, maybe because of the silicone trays. I’m not scientist but whatever it is, it works!! It’s a little tuff to remove because the trays are such a tight fit but take your time and they come out perfectly clear and round. Love this in my tequila sipper!

These things are awesome, but takes time

These took me a little while to figure out the right method, but once i did they’ve worked great. I read a few reviews that said if you leave it in the freezer too long the ice balls will be cloudy, however that hasn’t been my experience. I left these in my freezer while on vacation for 3 weeks, when i came home and pulled out the molds they ice balls will still crystal clear.

The only knock i have on these is that it takes a long time to make the ice balls. The manufacturer says 24-36 hours, my experience is that it’s closer to 36 or even 48 hours. Now i do have a huge freezer chest in my garage where i put these, so that might be part of the issue.

Is also wish the ice balls were just a little bigger, but all and all these things are freaking awesome.

Tricky to unmold but great results

Like many other reviewers it is tricky to unmold. Ive found that pressing on opposing corners to sort of break the seal between the rubber and the ice helps a lot.

Easy to use

Got it in the mail tuesday afternoon read the simple instructions and placed in freezer and 25 hours later had a perfect clear ice ball. Purchased two of the single mold and will be purchasing four more of the single ones work best for me.

Good news / bad news

Good news: this ice cube maker does exactly what it says it will do: makes beautiful, crystal clear ice balls for your cocktails… Or whatever beverage you want to ‘dress up’!

It’s very easy and non-complicated to use following the simple steps. I have made three or four batches of ice balls at this point and they’re awesome! I have been extremely impressed at how cold they keep my drink and how slow they melt even when i am poolside in 105° heat. Highly recommend! They take my drink to a new level…. I feel so sophisticated, lol!

Bad news: if you live alone, there is no hope you will be able to remove the silicone molds after you have frozen the ice balls in the freezer. Literally: no chance. As i said, i’ve made several batches, and every time i’ve tried to pop the ice balls out, it takes both me and my husband to remove the silicone mold. Like, i’m holding the bottom and my husband is pulling the silicone handles with all his might using both hands (and he’s plenty strong lol!) so, if you live alone, hopefully you have a nice strong neighbor (not a 90 lb weakling) who can help you remove the mold or you’ll never get the ice balls out. Of course, you will now have to use up one of your 2 ice balls and some of your liquor to probably reward said neighbor…. So this could prove costly. It’s literally impossible for one person to remove the ice balls. I have experimented with different things like running a little tapwater over the icemaker to try to loosen up the mold but nothing has worked so far.

Other than the super frustrating difficulty of removing the ice balls, i am very pleased with the actual product it makes!

Great product overall!

Bought this as a gift for my boyfriend and he is very happy with it. Ice is pretty clear for the most part (occasional cloudiness on the bottom corners). Super easy to refill and make ice. The only complaint he has had is that if you leave it in the freezer for more than 48hrs the plastic mold is impossible to remove without having to melt some of the ice. Other than that he says it’s one of his favorite gifts of all times.

Cheaper than a new refrigerator

Works pretty good.

It works pretty well, sometimes it’s hard to remove but just run some water over it and it will loosen up.

It’s worth the buy.

Took a few tries, but…

It does work. It took me three tries to get my ice to come out whole and clear. The instructions say to fill the ‘cup’ of the mold to about two inches from the top and that produced a half of an ice ball. I’d say you have to fill to about one inch from the top.

Works well, but takes a while to re-load

This thing is amazing – it makes very clear big ice balls. The only minor complaint i have it that it takes hours to re-load. After you remove the ice ball, you have wait a couple of hours for the large puck under the ball to melt. You can’t just leave it there and re-load. Other than that, great product.

It does produce crystal clear ice balls / with some work.

I am giving this a 4 star rating since it takes some work prior, and a long freezing time to make 2 crystal clear ice balls.
It took me many tries to achieve the desired results; as the instructions included where not very informative.
The ice balls would have some cloudy areas and would not be a full ball / have concave areas.

It might be because of the water i used, or how my freezer works. The crystal clear balls i get now are completely full / have a small nipple like bump on each end with a fine ridge around the sides of the ball. (these can be removed for a completely smooth ball by gently rubbing those areas again the inside of a stainless steel pan. Personally after many tries to achieve this, i am fine with the more rustic / erotic look they have.)

to achieve these results i use bottled spring water, then…
1. Bring 34oz (about 4 -1/4 cups) of water to a full rolling boil, and then continue boiling for 1 minute.
2. Remove from heat and wait till bubbling stops. Then fill the bottom portion of the unit with the hot
water up to the fill line. (reserving remaining water to top off.)
3. Slowly insert / lower the silicon mold into the bottom portion until it stops. Use some of the remaining
water to completely fill the 2 rectangular areas on the top of the mold.
4. Leave this on your counter for 36 minutes. (this will help warm the unit completely to help with the
top to bottom freezing method needed to make clear ice.)
5. Use remaining water to fill the top rectangular areas of the mold completely. (usually at the 15 minute
mark of the wait time, and just before placing the unit in the freezer.)
6. Freeze for about 27-1/2 to 28 hours.
7. Remove from freezer and gently tug on one side of the mold, then the other to remove the mold /
crystal clear ice balls.
8. Store ice balls in a gallon size, slide closing plastic freezer bag. (holds more balls & is easier to open
and close than the bag provided.)

these ice balls look amazing in whatever type of drink you are serving that requires ice. They have a long melting time. While they do melt you do not get the diluted drink flavor as quickly / as strongly as when using square ice cubes.

Neat ice!

The ice was a bit of a pia, but worth it in the end. Glad i purchased, just a bit difficult to get out once frozen – thought i’d break it!

Some pretty nice balls

I think this is a great tool. I’ve tried it with cold and hot water, the results are the same. I get just as nice of spheres in 24 hours as i did in 48, yours could vary. The ‘ball sack’ is nice. It has a tight seal and keeps the spheres from getting frosty. It takes some work getting the silicone mold out of the cooler but work each of the four sides and you’ll be fine.
When you go to make your next set, make sure there is no ice left in the cooler.
Enjoy
