I was tossing and turning the other night and was feeling around on my nightstand for the tv remote to watch a little tv. All of a sudden i hit a bottle of water i had on the nightstand in the pitch black dark and knocked it over on the remote. Needless to say it was toast. I jumped on the internet and downloaded a tcl tv roku app. About half way through installationy phone lit up like a christmas tree with pop up ads. I couldn’t stand the intrusive barrage of constant ads and promptly uninstalled it. I found this little gem on amazon. Works like a champ! I found this glow in the dark remote cover. It’s like a jelly kind of material. Put it under a lamp for a couple hours and put it on my remote. No more looking for my remote in the dark!!!!! It glows!!! Came with a blue one too! I’m glad my remote got trashed. The new one works even better. Push a button and it responds. Old one was not very good. Would’ve turn channels half the time and volume buttons didn’t work most the time either. This one is awesome and the additional purchase of the cover was worth every dime! Highly recommend.

I am very pleased with this purchase! As the webpage says, i put brand new batteries in (not included) and it worked! Make sure you read the description because this remote is for roku t.v. Only!!!
The replacement remote does take some getting used to when it comes to operating it because the buttons are slightly different then my old remote. But all in all i think it is a great remote and for a great price! If this review helped you then please give me a thumbs up thanks!

I bought these remote because we lost our other remote to our roku tv. It came and looked like the old one. I popped the batteries in and wow it work. Right away turned on the tv. Definitely a score. Oh by the way, we found the old remote. So we keep that old one as a back up now. Definitely worth the money it you new a new one or backup remote

Lost the real remote during a move and my roku didn’t have controls to get to the network connection screen to use the tv so i had to look up a universal remote. Found this one and since the last time i ever had to set up a universal remote was back in 1999, i scrambled to get some instructions to get the remote to work. To my surprise when i put the last battery in, i touched the side by accident and the volume started to work immediately! There was literally no hassle at all. Checked all the buttons and all of them work. Never even remembered that the original remote was lost. Trust me, this is a must buy. Don’t get from walmart or anything because this one was cheaper and works perfectly!

Arrived when promised. Super happy with this purchase. It worked as soon as i put the batteries in. No pairing, no waiting good to go!thanks for such a great product!

What can i say it’s a tv remote,not much i can tell you other then it works and all you need to do is install some batteries and your good to go

We’ve bought this remote two times now, due to ‘misuse’ by a couple dogs’ mouths. It works just as great as the one that came with the original tv.

I am so happy there was nothing i had to do to connect remote to tv. It was ready to use right out of the box.

How is that possible that it works better than the original? Don’t know. But i couldn’t play the netflix trivia shows with my old remote, the app would crash. Now i can, turns out the trivia shows are boring anyway.

Needs higher voltage batteries. Rechargeable aaa batteries are often 1.2 volts while fresh alkalines are around 1.5 volts. With some old eneloop aaa, it only worked when about 3 feet away from the tv. I switched to some higher energy ebl rechargeables, and it works fine. I haven’t pulled out the multimeter, but i’m betting that the ebl have a slightly higher voltage. Might be best to use alkaline, but i don’t think i have any since they’re so wasteful.

My original remote had a cross shaped d-pad that i like better than this round one. The branded buttons at the bottom are also less relevant. Other than that it seems identical.

This item worked great right out of the box with my tcl roku tv. Our original remote stopped working a while back so we brought a roku branded replacement previously (an actual roku remote with the purple roku fabric tag on it). I noticed the actual remote remote felt better than the original remote that came with the tv. It was heavier and felt better in hand. Unfortunately it started flaking out and disconnecting from the tv. It was constantly showing the remote battery status on the tv and was not working consistently. Constantly disconnecting. Started to buy another of the same but saw this cheaper option. It works great but is lighter weigh and i don’t really like the feedback from the buttons nor the volume buttons. The directional click on the up/down/left/right is noticeably louder than the roku branded remote, which is distracting when clicking down on youtube tv and the like. As i said, it works and i didn’t have to do anything but put batteries in it, but it’s loud and clearly it as nice as the roku. It will get the job done for 1/3 the price.

I have two tcl roku tvs. One is a 4 year old 40′ and the other is a 2 year old 65′. I had lost the remote to the 65 ‘ and the power button on the remote for the 40’ would no longer work. I knew that the remotes were interchangeable so i was pretty sure these remotes would work with my tvs. For about $14 for a pair it wasn’t much of a gamble. The good news is that after installing some aaa batteries (not included) they just work. They work just like the originals. The feel of the buttons is more distinct than the original as well.

Cheap, works well and looks about 99% the same as the original = win

No lights on the remote and the back won’t stay on the remote and so so tiny!

Although i prefer the feel of the d-pad they will break on you. Had to use my tv without a left button for the longest time…not fun. I dont really see this doing it. Mind you its not as smooth feeling as the amazon firestick remote but does the job with a nice click sound.

Easy to use. Hooked right up to my tv.
