Our multivitamins are formulated without epa, but they are formulated with omega-3 dha derived from microalgae. One of the steps in our four-step formulation process is considering vegan and vegetarians, who can have a hard time getting enough omega-3 dha from food sources alone.

Our prenatal and postnatal contain biotin because the need for that nutrient increases during/after pregnancy. Essential for women is not formulated with biotin as most women (vegan or otherwise) get enough from diet alone.

Silica is a commonly used ingredient in tablets and capsules as a processing aid. In our adult multivitamins, silica is used to slightly increase the viscosity of the oil in the capsule. This ensures that the nutrients in the oil / liquid phase are dispensed smoothly in each capsule. This function improves content uniformity and ensures each capsule contains the right amount of nutrients consistently and maintain high quality batch to batch.

Depending on the multivitamin ritual adult multivitamins are formulated with magnesium (as dimagnesium malate), choline (choline bitartrate), and/or iron in the form of ferrous bisglycinate.

We can’t ensure all nutrients’ label claim past the expiration date, so we’d suggest a new bottle of product. For additional context, we intentionally do not keep our multivitamins in inventory longer than we need, due to some of our nutrients have shorter shelf lives and also with helping maintain product freshness in mind. For example, we source our vegan algal oil from microalgae. As a result of these things, ritual multivitamins have relatively shorter expiration dates than you may be used to seeing. Stability testing is also conducted on ritual products which helps to inform the ingredient label and expiration date. Expiration dates may vary from about 2-6 months from when the product is delivered.

We use both plant-based and synthesized vegan nutrients. Ingredients extracted from natural sources can be exposed to unwanted compounds from the environment, and when that type of exposure is a concern, we use a synthesized version of a nutrient (while making sure that that synthetic form is still bioidentical to its natural counterpart).

Ritual multivitamins are not formulated with peppermint inside the capsules. The peppermint oil is used to infuse the minty tab. While we have not found scientific evidence of said negative physiological effects from peppermint, we would suggest checking in with a physician if you have specific concerns or questions in regards to essential postnatal multivitamin.

We account for fluctuating temperatures during transit, so exposure to the elements shouldn’t affect your vitamins so long as they’re properly stored in a cool, dry place once you pick them up.
