Are these sheets compatible with any machine or just the scotch one?
I found this description online regarding these sheets. These laminating sheets are made of high quality, high clarity laminating film and premium adhesive resins.’
Do i have to use the whole sheet? Like can i do a 4×6 and still have the rest left or is it to be wasted?
I reuse sheets by waiting until the item i’m laminating is through the machine, then lifting the ‘release’ lever you’d use to clear a jam, and pulling the rest of the sheet through the laminator quickly, so it doesn’t have time to seal. Then i cut off the unsealed part of the sheet, making sure to leave a sealed edge.
Can you place a lot of smaller tags in the sheet and cut around each one?
Yes, that would work fine. Just make sure there’s enough space between the tags for the laminating film to seal properly. I used the scotch laminating film pouches and they are good quality.
Can these pouches be used just as a clear plastic envelope/sleeve? Will the pouch stick to the papers inside?
They could because the film on the inside is meant to adhere to paper. So if it got warm enough, the papers inside could stick.
Does this come with a carrier?
The unit does not include a carrier, but none is needed. There are guide tabs in the rear of the unit to help place the lamination pouch properly.
Can i use these sheets with any scotch thermal laminator?
I use them in any scotch or other brand also. I also use other brand of laminator sheets in the scotch laminator.
Are these acid-free for long-term protection of important papers?
This is what it says on the front of the package, ‘protect items from damage; clear professional finish; uses for: certificates, signs, awards, calendars, kids artwork. On the back it says, ‘clear to let important information show through; keep items clean; use with scotch thermal laminators; photo safe* (*photo safe determined in accordance with iso standard 18916); other uses: calendars, schedules, photos.’ i would assume that it is.

I mistakenly ordered thermal pouches. Is there a way they can be used without a thermal laminator
Thermal pouches is exactly what you want to use with this laminator.
If i use these with plickers cards does it make them too shiny/glossy for my phone’s camera to read?
I laminated a couple of my plickers cards to try and it was a pain to capture the answers…do not laminate them!
Difference in regular and premium laminating pouches?
There is a huge difference between scotch and any other brand of laminating pouches!! I have tried other brands and they not as thick!!!!
Am making signs . Can i cut after laminating to get multiple signs per sheet?
The lamination is most durable when not cut to the edge (either by laminating one page per sheet or leaving a border of lamination around smaller items) but i still cut things to the edge all the time out of necessity and have never had a problem. However, if the signs are going to be used outside, i wouldn’t cut them, as water can seep through cut edges.

Can i laminate a sheet of paper and then cut it into several smaller and borderless cards or would this cause the lamination to peel off?
There is a specific paper you can use and you cut the corners for better finishing and it won’t peel off. It is an o excellent option to use on front covers of personalized planners and notebooks
i am not sure about comercial names, but in brazil we call it synthetic paper, it is a special subtract with pp that fuses the paper and the laminated sheet together when pressed with heat. The brand you can search online is teslin 1000, but the printing needs to be in pigmented inks.

It does not stick to the paper.
Is there a side that is sealed?
Yes, one 9-inch end is sealed.
How do you open the pouch?
Omg! It’s such a weird trick! I’m new to laminating and i tried everything! Then, suddenly, it opened. Here’s what you have to do: (1) find the end that has the super-thin clear edge below the hazy plastic of the rest of the pouch (it will be one of the 8.5′ sides, not the 11′ sides), (2) hold the pouch in portrait orientation with that clear edge at the bottom and your two thumbs loose at the top with the rest of your finger holding the pouch, (3) if right-handed, use your right thumb to hold the pouch in place with light downward pressure, (4) finally, using both thumbs, press down and away by about 1/4 inch. If it hasn’t come apart at that point, try again. What you may not realize is that the surface of the inside of the pouch combined with static cling (or something like it) holds the two sides very tightly together. You’ll see that once you get the top separated, you almost peel the sides apart.

Great question! The scotch thermal laminating pouches open so that you can put the item inside for laminating both sides. One of the 8.9 inch sides is pre-sealed about 1/16′-1/8′ and will be clear. The end that opens will be the opposite end. You may need to curve the end downward with your thumb like you are flipping through a magazine to separate the two sides of the pouch. Not familiar with purple cows products, but i do know that when it comes to laminators & thermal pouches its not so much the brand but the size and thickness that matters. If purple cows accepts 8.5*11in pouches it shouldn’t matter what brand.
