What happens if i didn’t wait the 24 hours as recommended

The freon in the compressor also has special oil in it. If tilted, that oil needs 8-24 hours to ooze back down from the tubes to the compressor pump, despite the thin viscosity of the oil, because there is verrrry little of this oil. If you violate this, you can ruin the pump or shorten its life, drastically. If carefully not tilted when carrying it to another room, you can likely get away with the shorter time.

Is there any support for the product? Mine has been making loud noises.

Mine started making loud noises too so i did what travis suggested with adding vinegar & set in on self clean. It worked. Thanks travis.

Can you hook a water line directly to this

If you really want this ice maker to last a long time…. Don’t use tap water! It will ruin it with scale or plug your filter… The filters in these are very sensitive…. Buy filtered water by the gallon and use…. Had mine for awhile with no issues and no special cleaning required…

Any one use it in their rv?

I just got mine, specifically for my bus to rv conversion with my 2000 watt bluettie solar charger it does what it says. One 16.9 ounce bottled of water produces about 45 pellets. (9 to 18 is plenty for a cold drink.)

used correctly you just pour water in, choose small or large ice, then turn it off and unplug it after you have the
ice that you want. It uses very little electricity. If you make more ice than you need and leave it in this ice maker even though it will still be on the ice will just melt it’s not a great place to store ice.

But as quickly as it makes ice there’sjust no need to store it anyway. You have ice on demand

Does the ice maker shuts off when full.or does it jist stop making ice?

It stops making ice. It doesn’t completely shut off.

Help! I have had this ice maker for 6 months. It randomly stopped working, runs water through and then says it needs water,it’s full tho what do i do?

I go through one of these portable ice makers every year. Tried all different brands. They only last about a year. In response to your issue… If you wet your finger and rub on the sensor, it will clean it off good and it should start making ice again. If the sensor is cloudy, then it thinks the ice bucket is full and it shuts off. Keep the sensor clean and it might help. This last one we had lasted 17 months 🙂 but had to buy another one. It should be here on tuesday. Never had this brand before. Good luck 🙂

Can i turn the machine off when not in use? Like make a batch place in in my freezer and turn off the machine until needed.

Yes, it’s best to turn it off and unplug it while not in use, it saves energy and prolongs the life of the machine.

My cover broke, totally my fault. Can i get a replacement ? I love it by the way.

Amazon carries replacement parts for icemaker‘s. You might check on the amazon website i just put in icemaker replacement parts in the search engine and came up with the whole list of parts for the icemaker‘s. I was sorry to hear that you had a broken lid i know how much i enjoy mine

My ice machine stopped working out of the blue. It turns on but will not make ice?

I have not had mine but a month, but with my old ice maker when it did that i would turn it off, unplug it clean it inside ( instructions are in the owners manual). Refill with water. It usually started working again. Hope this works for you

Does this ice maker have a warranty?

I bought the extended warranty – 5 years for $22.

Is this the nugget ice , soft chewable ice. Like the hospitals ?

Sort of . . . The ice is bullet shaped and gets chewable/slushy-like as it sits in the water or juice or soda or whatever. I personally love to let my drink sit for a minute or two and then chew on the squishy ice.

3 days old, love it, but has twice stopped making ice and green power light blinks. Need to press on/off/clean to get it to make ice again, why?

Send it back for replacement; especially since you’ve only had it 3 days!
I am on my third ice maker. They all last several years before needing to be replaced.
I’m away from home or could otherwise tell you exactly how long before replacement time.

Instead of adding water, can you add fruit juice to make little fruit juice cubes?

You can but it is not recommended. You should only run water thru this for cleaning purposes mainly. If you put anything besides water it is hard to get what ever else is in it out and get the lines clean. I would just use ice trays in the freezer. Its way easier in the long run and you end up with the same results.

So i can make 26 pounds of ice in it in 24hr for an ice bath?

Yes, it makes 26 pounds in 24 hours. However, the holding area is quite small. If you have a freezer and can store the ice until you can get enough, it will work.

Is there a way to adjust the temperature. My ice come out not totally frozen which causes it to stick to each other?

I use a butter knife and lightly chop the cubes. I still find it better than ice cube trays. Sorry i don’t know if there is away to adjust the temperature.

Can anyone give me the customer service number off of the back of the owners manual for silonn ice maker? I had to return ours and wrote the number fi

Same, ours needs returned also.

Can this be fitted to work in automobile?

I guess it could if you can plug it into your car. But i think it would probably be too hot in a car for the ice to stay.

What happens when you dont notice that the fill water light is on right away?

Nothing. It won’t try to make ice unless the light is off.

I ordered stainless steel and received a light blue color that is not offered. Happen to anyone else? Way to contact company?

Have you contacted amazon customer service? They have great customer service when it comes to situations like this. They may ask you to try contacting the vendor first, if you get no response after so long the’ll step in to assist you. I would definitely do that so at least it’s documented and in the system. Good luck!

Does this have a warranty and how long?

It has a 1 year manufacturer warranty. The phone number is on the back of the owners manual.

Works great an makes a full basket in less than time than it says

I just got mine yesterday earlier afternoon i let it sit like it says in the manual. For 24hrs. I then ran a cleaning cycle through it. I noticed that if you only fill it up to just before where it starts to dip on about a half inch below the fill line your ice won’t come out wet when you move the basket of ice to a bag for freezing it in the freezer. Also for those having trouble with the sensors in it if you take a qtip an just put 1 end in alcohol an gently wipe the sensors with it an then use the other end to dry them off. That will fix the problem. I use only jugs of filtered drinking water in mine you can get it at wal-mart for a $1.08 a gallon. Mine has been making clear ice since i started it an i plan on leaveing it on all the time. Only time will tell how long this machine will last hopefully a long time cause i have a small fridge an no room for ice trays nor bags of ice as for my drinks it keeps them nice an cold i use soda pop right out of the box an it gets cold thanks to the ice this machine makes real fast. So am really happy an will recommend this machine to any one who needs ice but has no room for it like me.
Update: i have read all the reviews regarding this machine an see many people complaning about the ice not lasting very long in the basket an also about it coming out wet. If you have yours in the kitchen where a lot of heat is generated from the stove an other appliances then the heat is what is making the ice melt real fast. My ice maker is on the dinning room table away from the kitchen an the ice doesn’t melt very fast an i am making small ice not big so the basket is filling up faster than i can use it but it is staying cold an unless i wait several hours it is not melting away my machine made a full basket in only 40 mins. An then stopped because the basket was full i took a nap an still woke up to it still saying it was full also the ice doesn’t melt very fast in my on the go tumbler i still have a 3/4 full of ice after drinking all of my pop so if you want the ice to last longer i suggest you move it out of the kitchen an put it somewhere that is away from any heat an you will be suprised at how long the ice lasts.
Update: i have had this ice maker going nonstop for almost a week now an it is working great. I have found out that for people who are using it an then turning it off that everytime you turn it off an then on again that you are sending a surge through the system which shortens the life of the ice maker if you want it to last a long time that you need to let it run 24/7. I also have discovered that if you like fountain drinks like you buy at places like mc. Donalds an convience stores it is best to use the small setting also the large setting is good for putting in coolers that you take when you go on picnics an camping to keep food an fish if you like going fishing to keep them fresh. Both small an large melt at the same rate i know this cause i have tried both in drinks. The ice maker keeps the ice good over night i have mine running 24/7 an every morning wake up to 3/4 of the basket full of ice. I believe it is because of where i have mine sitting away from any heat source. As soon as i can i am going to buy another one for the future an would highly recommend this black ice maker to everyone just remember to leave it running 24/7 an it will last a long time. The ice has been melting so slow that i have had to add water 3 times in just 1 week so those that have said that the ice melts to fast must have their ice maker next to a heat source cause the ice does not melt fast enough to add to the water source to make more when it is not near a heat source. So the conclusion is if you want a lot of ice an you want it to last place your ice maker in the dinning room or in the bathroom or some other room away from any sunlight or other source of heat. Also the ice maker keeps the ice frozen just like as if it came from a fridge freezer. An it is just as hard as if you took it out of one. I know cause i did a test to find out i love this little ice maker alot an i know if you follow my suggestions you will too.
Update: well i have had it running nonstop 24/7 now for over a month an it is still working this is the best $108 i have ever spent. I have had no problems what so ever with it i just keep it full of water an it keeps making ice for me i love this ice maker an have been telling my friends to get one cause it will save you alot of money on buying ice from the stores.
Update well my ice maker is still going strong an is making this summer alot more enjoyable i just let it run all the time an scoop out ice when i need it. Cause i only occasionally move the ice in the basket to make room for more in it by breaking up what little bit has started melting so it only runs when i do that so it is not being over worked which is why i think some are not lasting very long is cause they are being made to produce a full basket all the time instead of just a little an then getting a break bye letting some of the ice melt a little. I love my ice maker an i will buy another 1 to put back for when this one finally quits.
Update: well it is september 4th an my ice maker is still going strong an is producing a lot of ice so get one cause i believe this ice maker will last a long time if properly taken care of an maintained. My ice maker is working just like it did when i first got it there has been no changes in performance.

Makes cute little ice tubes

The first step was to give the machine a good initial cleaning, as instructed in the manual. The cleaning cycle completed after just a few minutes. Then, i added (bottled) water, replaced the basket, and pressed the “select” button for s(mall) or l(arge) “cubes”. (it would be more accurate to make the choices small and smaller, but l and s sounds better.) once i selected l, the ice-making cycle began.
After a few minutes the first batch of ice got dumped into the tray, and another cycle began. That continues until the tray is full of ice or the machine runs out of water. In either case, the machine pauses until the problem is corrected. The best approach is to make sure neither of those things interrupts the process.
The machine itself is quiet enough, but i can easily hear the newborn ice “cubes” falling into the basket, even when i’m in another room watching tv. So, i just notice when i hear that sound, which tells me everything is working well. But every 45 minutes or so, i check on the machine, empty the tray, and check the water level. I don’t use the scoop at all. It’s easier to just lift out the tray and empty the ice into a 1-gallon plastic food storage bag. Each time i do that, i also drop the bag on the counter to break up the ice “cubes”, which tend to stick together into one giant ball of ice. Breaking up the “cubes” often prevents them from getting too welded together. (they aren’t really cubes at all; more like miniature test tubes.)
you can see through the translucent lid well enough. But, even better, you can lift the lid any time without interrupting the ice-making. You can also lift the basket out at any time, but you wouldn’t want to do that just as ice tubes are being emptied into it. (they would simply fall into the water and get recycled into new ice tubes. No damage, just wasted time.) so, it’s a good idea to wait until just after newborn ice tubes have tumbled into the basket, then empty the tray and add water if needed.
You would be very disappointed if you got the machine started, then left for work, then returned 8 hours later expecting a nice supply of ice tubes. It doesn’t take that long for the basket to get full, stop the ice-making, and start melting the ice tubes in the tray. You certainly don’t have to stay with the machine all the time, but you do need to give it your attention every 45 minutes or so. (maybe an hour.)

Lasted 4 days! Four days of wonderful ice…

I had a $210 euhomy ice maker machine countertop, 40lbs/24h compact ice cube maker that died a peaceful death after 18 months! I thought that was bad. I was wrong. That is admirable!

After it passed away, i threw it in the trash and ordered this amazon-recommended less-expensive replacement – a $99 silonn ice maker. It lasted 2 days!

After my 2nd icemaker this one ($99 silonn ice maker) passed after 2-days, i ordered my 3rd icemaker (a $109 silonn countertop ice maker machine with handle).

My 3rd icemaker tragically passed away with family around the kitchen counter after 15-days of admirable service!

Now ordering our 4th icemaker ($148 frigidaire efic452-ssred xl maker). If it lasts a month my family will be thrilled!

Who knew i needed an icemaker in my classroom?

I read a study that suggests students who suck on or chew ice while studying are more able to focus and be successful. Sounds far-fetched, but it works. I know several other teachers who have this ice machine, so i thought i would try it myself. It really does work! My student love the ice machine. It makes enough ice to fill a cup in about 5-6 minutes, and the ice is airy and nice. I use small paper cups so that more students can have ice, and i love putting it in my water bottle. The pieces fit right into the top. If you like ice, this is a good icemaker for you. It is affordably priced, it is a little noisy, but i don’t even hear it anymore. It is really important to keep it clean so it continues to make ice well. But, the machine comes with a pamphlet that explains how to do that easily. I would recommend this for anyone who loves to have ice available.

So misleading

First thing, it’s awesome. The ice tastes good, and the speed is nice, but there is an issue with the marketing. Ultimately, i’m returning it.

—-capacity—-
the machine makes a total of one bowl of ice. Not a giant bowl of ice, no. The capacity is a cereal-sized bowl of ice. It will not make more than a cereal-sized bowl of ice until you empty it. So, unless there is only 1 person using the machine or you and whomever you’re with will never use the ice at the same time, then you should be ok.

Some more perspective: i can fill two glasses full of ice and then the ice runs out.

—melting point—
like all ice machine makers of this style, the ice does melt somewhat quickly but it’s okay enough that it will not bother me. Also, it’s soft enough to chew and enjoy, so that might contribute to the ice disappearing from my cup quite often.

—energy/run time—
although i would expect the ice to melt all the time in the summer, it doesn’t really. Since it’s bunched with other ice, it sorta acts like an insulator. Albeit not the best insulator but the ice isn’t melting as quickly as i imagined. Therefore, after it’s full, i probably hear it make ice every 3-4 hours. Yesterday i was up all night and only heard it make ice twice during the very late hours.

—size—
the height is about the length of my keyboard without the number pad. My number pad is detached.

—overall—
if you meet the criteria i mentioned in the capacity header, don’t second guess yourself and just buy it. This is seriously a good product. The ratings speak for themselves.

—alternatives—
if you absolutely need a larger capacity machine, finding a good deal is risky. The newest ge opal is the next lineup that matches the quality and reputation of this machine. It’s very pricey. Make sure it’s the newest model!

Works great for small volume users

When my wife purchased the silonn ice maker i was skeptical and figured i would soon be making a trip to the ups store to return it to amazon. When it arrived she cleaned it as recommended, added water, and turned it on. ‘how long is that going to take’ i scoffed. To my surprize, plop, plop, it was making ice in just minutes.

The unit makes large and small cubes, though neither is particularly large. We (notice i’m using the ‘we’ word now) make large cubes and they are perfect for drinks. We use the ice maker about twice a week as there is only the two of us; if you have a large family you may wish to consider something with greater capacity because it makes ice in relatively small batches.

The biggest drawback to the unit is that it doesn’t keep the cubes that it makes frozen. When you make cubes you need to remove them from the unit and put them in the freezer asap, or they will partially melt and ultimately stick together in one big glob. We overcome this problem by putting the cubes in a heavy duty reusable zip-lock bag, and after the cubes have been in the freezer for awhile, whack the bag on the countertop.

For low volume users the silonn ice make will work just fine. For us, it’s way better than the ice maker that came with our samsung refrigerator!

Best ice maker on the planet

If you love doing ‘custom’ clear ice, this is the one machine to purchase. I’ve had an ice machine in the past that had a drain spout on the side of the machine, and you never could get all of the water out of the machine. Mold soon appeared.

This machine has the spout on the bottom which makes it super easy to drain and dry.

There have been times that this little machine runs all day long until the ice is so cold that it no longer melts and recycles the water. It’s a true work horse.

We use bottled water to make our ice and it comes out restaurant quality.

I love this thing!!

I absolutely love this thing, there is a woman that said hers is loud… Honey yours is not loud it is broken!! Mine is perfect, but i like white noise it blocks out other sounds. Makes the perfect size ice to fit in my bottle each morning and evening. Now if you have a large bottle or more than two people getting ice at the same time the third person might have to wait 5 minutes… But this thing is quick! We filled 64 oz cooler for camping pulling ice from this over two days and didn’t have to run to the gas station. I am very satisfied with this ice maker. My only complaint is i can’t find a manual on-line to figure out how to use the self cleaning option… Other than that.. I am very happy!!

Nice ice maker

I’ve had this for 7 months now and it still works great. My advice to anyone who buys would be to keep in a cool area, below 65 degrees. Heat messes with this thing, i had to take out of my kitchen and place in my basement because i use the oven and it can get hot during the summer. Heat will cause the vent to overheat and the noise will become louder than usual. Other than that it has been a great purchase

5Expert Score
Excellent quality for a mid-tier ice maker

We’ve had this ice maker for a few months and we’re so happy with it. Here’s the breakdown.

Pros:
-fast: each cycle only takes a few minutes so you can have ice very quickly once you turn it on
-reliable: it’s worked perfectly for months and we use it often
-easy to clean: the self-cleaning feature is great, and a removable plug in the bottom of the chamber makes it easy to drain any old water or cleaning liquid.
-great ice texture: not too hard, can easily be crunched if desired

cons:
-sound, potentially: it’s not noisy, but it’s not silent either. You can hear it running, and the ice clatters a bit when a cycle is over, but it’s not obtrusive in our opinion. But if you’re noise sensitive, it might be too much for you.
-wet ice: there’s no refrigeration for the ice once it’s made, so as it accumulates and fills the basket, it begins to sweat and slightly melt. This is solved by regularly emptying the basket while the ice maker is on, but it also means the ice likes to stick together once you put it in the freezer, because it was wet. If you use a bag for storage, dropping it against the counter breaks up the cubes easily, so we don’t find this problematic, but other users have mentioned it as a downside, and just confirming that it’s true–yes, the ice sticks together easily because it’s wet when you put it away.

Overall we’re very happy with our choice of ice maker and love the teal color we chose. It coordinates with our kitchen and doesn’t take too much counterspace. We were previously making ice in trays and therefore used ice sparingly, but now we use it much more freely because we have ice in bulk at our fingertips. Excellent aid for staying hydrated and having ice available for other needs as well.

Makes ice that is so small, it melts too fast

This does produce lots of ice quickly. The issue i am having is that the ice is shaped like a bullet and the size of a bullet with a hollow core. The second these cubes hit room temperature fluids, they immediately melt away to nothing. On this model, there is no way to make the ice any larger. It makes about 9 cubes at a time. You can not leave the ice in the container as it melts too fast, so you have to remove the cubes right away. When they melt, the water flows back into the reservoir to be used again to make more ice. It is small, about the size of a bread maker and fits on our counter. We are planning to take it camping in our travel trailer so that we have ice. It is very quiet when operating, you can hear the ice drop to the basket and the water refilling. So far, we are pleased, just wish we knew how tiny the cubes were prior to purchasing. On the other hand, our little dog, who loves anything ice, thinks the cube size is absolutely perfect and will beg for more and more!

4Expert Score
Great ice maker but a little more labour intensive that i realised.

For the value this is a great unit. I had never had before so there were a few things i didn’t realise that is not a reflection on this unit just these type of ice makers.
1) the capacity is not huge. To make a lot of ice you have to often empty the storage basket. I would say it fills about every hour roughly. So for lots of ice you need to transfer to a storage container in the freezer.
2) it doesn’t keep the ice frozen over a period of time. If left in the basket the ice melts and than is refrozen again through the process.
3) due to the way the ice is made there is a hollow part to the ice. Therefore the ice does melt relatively quickly when added to liquid.
4) if you do want a lot of ice you need to empty the basket and refill the water frequently. This is not a set and forget overnight option for lots of ice. To make the 20 odd pounds of ice the adds all says these machines make a day you would need to recheck almost every hour, empty the basket and refill.
5) it is not super quiet. I wouldn’t say it’s loud but definitely you hear it dropping ice if in a room nearby at night.
6) because of the hollow centre of the ice i wouldn’t use this ice to fill a cooler for example if going out for a day trip. I would still purchase a bag of solid ice.
Overall still a great machine and i use it often (i turn it off and on allot to suit my ice demands) but just be aware of its limitations as a bulk ice maker.

Fast

This ice machine is the best! After the ice machine in my stand up refrigerator went bad i needed something to replace as i was not ready to buy a whole new refrigerator/freezer. So after browsing many, i chose this one. It really isn’t that noisy, nothing too bothersome anyways. It is so quick i swear as soon as i fill it it seems like it’s dumping ice. The only downside i think it has is it runs out of water relatively quick, and the ice doesn’t stay cold so it melts if you don’t use it or empty it into a freezer right away. I would still definitely recommend it!

4Expert Score
Really only makes a small amount of ice unless you watch it all the time

This makes bullet shaped ice cubes amazingly fast … About 9 cubes every 6-10 minutes or so. The holding compartment is not refrigerated so the cubes will eventually melt. The melt water is collected and recycled into the next batch of ice in a continuous process. The process is stopped when the ice bucket reaches a maximum level.
This works extremely well, but the ice container is very small and will fill only about a 16oz glass full. While the claim of ’26# per day’ is probably accurate, you have to be there to empty the tray every time it gets full (and maybe every 30 minutes or so throughout the night!).
As such, don’t expect to be able to fill your big ice cooler unless you’re prepared to catch and store the ice as its being made.
When the ice bucket is full, the machine cycles on and off only rarely so the small amount of fan/compressor noise is tolerable.
Be patient when you receive it as it must sit unplugged for 24 hours after shipping.

So far, so good!

I looked at umpteen different brands of countertop ice makers and finally got this one based on good reviews, price, and cute color. After about a month of almost daily use, i’m very happy with it!

About a 1/3 gallon of water will produce enough ice to fill a 2 gallon freezer bag. But the basket is small, so to make that much requires repeatedly emptying it over the course of a couple hours. It doesn’t work quite as fast as advertised. I’m okay with that – you just can’t turn it on and then leave the house for hours.

It would be nice if there was an indicator tone for when the basket is full, but you do get a red light. This makes it harder to keep up with it from another room, but also prevents emptying the basket more than necessary. It makes enough ice for one drink with each cycle, so it takes several cycles for a full basket.

The cubes come out a little wet and will freeze together in whatever storage container you’re using. I’ve found that a zippered freezer bag works well, and 2-3 whacks with the flat side of a meat mallet breaks it up quickly and easily. The included scoop is great for using the powdery bottom-of-the-bag ice. There are a few pros to this ice not being so hard – easier to break up than store-bought bagged ice, and easier to crunch if you like to eat ice.

The operation is super simple – literally only need to hit one button and let it run for a while. It doesn’t take up too much counter space, and it’s light enough to move around on the counter pretty easily. I’ve only tried the smaller size of cubes, which is great, and i like the bullet shape. It is slightly louder than a refrigerator ice maker, but not enough to be super annoying. It’s just because there’s less distance and insulation separating from your ears from the motor on a standalone machine than with fridge ice makers.

My one concern about the potential long-term use is the basket and the arm that dumps ice into the basket are both made of very flimsy plastic, and i worry that over time they will crack sooner than a sturdier plastic (or metal) would. If any pieces of ice get stuck behind the arm, it’s better to let them melt than to force any parts to move. But so far i’ve had no problems.

Would buy again!

Keep the ice in a ziplock bag so you can easily break them apart when you need to take some out.

I love this ice maker. I live in a rental with just a basic fridge/freezer unit so no built in ice maker, and the small freezer is always packed with barely room to keep an ice bin, and def no room to freeze ice in trays.
The way this works is that the ice bullets are formed on metal rods which are the only part of the unit that is chilled to freeze the water, therefore this ice maker does not have a freezer compartment that will keep the finished ice bullets frozen so you will heed to immediately transfer the ice to your freezer as soon as the collection bin is full. The first time i made enough ice to fill my ice bin in my freezer, i realized that the ice bullets tend to have a melted outer layer so that once in the ice bin, they will all freeze into a block of ice bullets that need to be broken apart. I solved this problem by putting the ice bullets into a ziplock bag which i keep in my freezer ice bin. This allows me to easily break up the ice bullets every time i need to retrieve ice from my stash, as well as keeps the ice fresh by not adsorbing odors and also keeps it from sublimating away while in frozen storage. A gallon sized bag was not big enough to maximize the available storage space in my ice bin so i got the 2.5 gal size and those generously line my bin and allow me to store my ice bin’s maximum capacity of ice. When i want ice i just pull the bag out of the bin, drop it onto the counter a few times to break them apart, just like you have to do with a purchased bag of ice. After getting the ice i need out, i just put the bag of ice back in the freezer ice bin, squish out the air and seal the bag & stick it back in the freezer. Easy and fast. The water reservoir of the ice maker holds 2 liters and it just so happens that that amount of water makes the exact amount of ice bullets to completely fill up my freezer ice bin to max capacity so i am very happy with it. A small freezer compartment to collect the ice in as it is made would have rated it 5 stars, but the simpler design without it still works well for my needs and is a much more affordable price than a unit with such a freezer collection space, so a solid 4 stars for a useful unit that will require some personal intervention to transfer the ice into freezer storage as it is made.
I do wish that it had an audio alert for the full bin indicator in addition to the red indicator light, so that i could get the ice into the freezer immediately, but since the unit is small, portable and does not need to be hooked up to a water line, i just placed it where i can see it from my desk chair and set an alarm on my phone to start looking at the indicator lights after 50-55 minutes and that is working very well for me.

Best $100 i've spent in a long time

We love our new countertop ice maker. My granddaughter love how fast it makes it we can fill bags to keep in the freezer in a few house and only need to use it maybe 2 or 3 times a week and we have ice all week long ( we use ice in pretty much everything that is drunk) .
Would definitely buy again,
my kids might get one for christmas gifts this year.

Initially very happy with this product

I have only used it for a couple of days, but so far very happy with it. I particularly purchased it to take on trips with my friends; having it for places that don’t have ice, except for refrigerator dispensers. I don’t like ice from refrig/freezers. This is the answer, so far!! I love the pieces, the taste, etc. As long as you’re not in a huge hurry, this works perfectly, in my opinion. Hoping that it continues to perform in the future.

Makes ice, good for one

This ice maker makes ice, as advertised. The bullet cubes are very soft, not hard see-through ice like one would get out of a large commercial ice maker, which is fine if you like to chew your ice. (ice pictured with lemon for scale.) they do melt quickly. The basket itself is very small, so while it fills up in no time, you could really only get a few glasses of whatever out of it, so it wouldn’t work for parties or families. I have two large tumblers (20oz) i fill with water and iced coffee every morning for my commute, and there is no way the full basket of ice would supply enough ice to fill both of them at once.

To combat this, i have been emptying the basket once it’s full into an ice bucket and keeping it in the freezer. The ice maker continues to make ice, and the bucket still takes up less room in my freezer as an icemaker. As others have said, you can’t really leave it out on the counter all the time as a constant source of ice because it doesn’t store enough to be useful.

Additionally, the basket of ice is covered by a window that does not supply any insulation, so if the basket of ice is left out to continuously make ice, it also continuously melts. It does also keep filling up if it gets empty. It just doesn’t hold a lot.

Does what it's supposed to

Makes the larger size cubes in just about 6 minutes, but they do start to melt immediately, and are smal er by the time the next batch drops. If you wait until the basket is full the bottom halfbwill be quite melted and sticking together. I have only used it 1 day, filled 3 gallon size ziplocks for the freezer. When those are gone i’ll run it again. Overall awesome little gadget,. I use my tap water, after running a few hours the cubes do have a little bit off tatse if just eating the ice.
