Looking for specific info?

Is this suitable for beginners?

Yep, this adult telescope is easy to use. Comes with detailed instructions. I finished the installation quickly according to the instructions.

I got this as a gift, i put the lenses together and all i see is black but look at the pieces separate and can see through it. What do i do

Im sure you checked to make sure there isn’t a lens covering, blocking your view.
The telescope is very sensitive, make sure to point it to a bright light for testing, possibly a porch light or something similar. If all the above has been tried, i would contact the company you purchased it from, thru amazon. The customer service is amazing. Fast response.

Can i use my smartphone holder to take pictures?

Yes it has an attachment for mounting a phone to the eye piece. I took a lot of photos and uploaded them to instagram, so you can enjoy the moon with me.

Can the phone adapter be purchased separately? We opened our telescope yesterday for the first time from the package and the phone holder was broken

Hello customer, i’m sorry about this.
Can you contact our service support team? I will send you a new phone holder as soon as possible.

I want to buy a telescope for adult travel, this one is suitable for adults or kids?

I recommend children over 12 years old and adults to buy this telescopes. Telescope with travel bag, tripod and phone adapter. The travel bag goes in the trunk of the car and the phone adapter allows you to take pictures of the scenery. It’s really a wonderful memory worth keeping.

I’m beginner and plan to purchase this for my son, is it really easy to set up and use?

Very easy to set up.
Takes minutes.
Easy to use.
Not great for planetary star gazing.
Good for the moon and ships on the horizon.

Does it need moon filter?

If you have a moon filter, that’s the best, if you don’t, that’s not the most important thing. You can still see the beautiful moon.

Can you use filters with this telescope if so then what is the interface/filters will be needed?

Hello customer, this telescope can use 1.23-1.25 inch moon filters.

Do you sell additional eyepieces for this telescope?

Hello customer, this telescope matches 2 eyepieces (10mm and 25mm), and another plossl eyepiece is in production and will be sold on amazon after completion. If you have purchased a hawkko telescope, please contact the hawkko service center, we will deliver a new set of eyepieces for you to experience.

Where is this made?

Don’t buy it is bad we had to send it back

Do the tripod legs extend to adult height?

You know, it takes a long time to observe the sky, it takes a long time to observe the sky, and it is unreasonable for users to stand for 1-3 hours. So, we recommend that users sit on a chair. For this reason, we set the maximum height of the tripod to 45 inches.

Hi all. I just wondered what people’s opinions are when choosing between red-dot finder and finderscopes.

As i understand it an red dot is simple to use but the magnification of a finderscooe can help with locating some of the harder to find objects. Please correct me if i’m wrong there lol

Is this an adult telescope? I have bought a 400 focal length telescope, for me is too mini.

Telescopes with a focal length of 400mm are more suitable for children aged 6-12. I think adults should use 700mm focal length telescope to not make you look funny.

Can you see stars clearly??

You can see starts clearly. It’s great for the moon.

Is this suitable for a 13 year old? Don’t want to purchase a cheap ‘kids’ one

The height of the telescope is suitable for teenagers and adults.

I go in the mountains often would this zoom in and be clear enough see the stars and the moon and other plantes?

Hello customers, to be honest, when the astronomical telescope is actually used, it is more interesting to observe the moon, animals, and plants. Mercury, venus, mars, jupiter, and saturn can be seen with the naked eye. Using a telescope will only allow you to see their outlines more clearly and to see some surface features. For the particularly clear planets shown in the movie, beginner telescopes are difficult to achieve. A higher-level newtonian reflector telescope can do it.

Can i take a photo with this telescope?

I want something like to see the sky and watch the birds. Is this okay?

Yes i should think so i got a bit of birds photos and wildlife so far been good.

Does this come with a lens cover for daytime viewing and/or for storage to keep dust out?

All of the lenses store away in small canisters.

What a wonderful gift for the whole family.

This is a very nice and very cool telescope for adults and teens, we took this up to our cabin this christmas but wanted to show it off first. It is so cool we are going to leave it at the cabin as it is at 7000 feet and the stars are bountiful and the milky way, have to get out of phoenix to do this justice.

This is an astronomy telescope with a 70mm aperture and 700mm focal length professional refractor telescope for kids, adults, teens, and importantly beginners like myself. This telescope also comes with a phone adapter, az mount, and tripod to help in viewing planets and stars

i would consider this a professional telescope for the beginning to intermediate astronomer, this hawkko telescope is easy-to-use and very powerful. Having the perfect combination of quality, value, features, and power for the first-time telescope user like us. I cannot wait for them to unwrap this as it is more like a family gift and will be super cool.

With an elegant style in white and the feature makes this 700mm focal length and 70mm aperture, that is fully coated optical glass lens, with high transmission coating the perfect telescope.

These features as told to me by my friend make. The image clearer and brighter with the eyepieces and barreled lenses. The magnification is 28x-210x. The perfect astronomical telescope for exploring the moon and stars. With a full-size stainless steel adjustable tripod that can adapt to any height and angle, bringing you stability, safety, and durability. The phone adapter allows you to shoot or record the beauty and share it with your friends.

Lastly, it is easy to set up and use, comes with a complete set of paper and video installation guides. Don’t worry about any installation issues. Even for the first time.

Wow, surprise buy

This is a modal window.

These are great telescopes an astronomy newbie.
I installed the telescope according to the instructions and video, very simple. Actually i did it during work, built it up in about 20mins.

I first aimed at the moon with a 25mm eyepiece, and then switched to a 10mm. The moon became very large like it was in front of me. Lately the moon was big for a few days it was really cool – the moon was big and clear in the scopes, i could see the craters on the moon. Love it!

Also the setup was very straightforward – the mount is very sturdy and comes with two slow motion control cables that let me make fine adjustments. The az mount is very smoothy, without the slightest stutter, and it rotates to the position i want it to be quickly.

The telescope come with a mobile phone holder (it may be a phone adapter? ) so i can install my iphone on the eyepiece and take great photos. I posted some photos on social media and many people commented on the clarity and detail of the photos. Maybe when the weather is good i could see saturn and jupiter later, not sure.
It is worth noting that when the phone is installed on the telescope, the two slow motion control cables of the az mount should be tightened first to fix the position. Otherwise, the weight of the phone will cause the telescope to move and deviate.

Overall, the lenses, accessories, tripod and materials are very good for their value. I will consider buying another pair as a christmas gift for my nephew he’d love it too.

Simple instructions

I am a photographer and thought i’d try out a telescope because i mostly get photos of the moon. This was a great first telescope. It arrived in two days time. In a box and in the box was a professional telescope carrying bag. The bag had everything you could need. The part i like most about this one is the ability to use it with a phone. It has a connection so you can take photos of whatever you see. It worked with my iphone xs flawlessly. The vision is clear and concise. It has a 10mm and 25mm. The instructions were simple to read and made it easy to use. I’d recommend this product. Well worth the price

Very good telescope!

I bought this as a gift for my husband for his birthday. He wanted something not to fancy, easy to use, but good quality, and this is exactly all those things. It took a little trial and error to get it set up just right, but once he did he was astounded by the clarity of what he could see! I highly recommend for just the causal telescope user.

Excellent product for beginners!

It has been for a while that i don’t know what i can do after work. Well this telescope becomes my new interest.

Easy to install with clear instructions. It only takes me 10 mins to get it setup! Quite light-weight so i can move it around with one arm. Also there is one cell phone mount so that i can take a pic and share it with my families right away!

It’s easy to see some animals in our backyard, like deers, squirrels and hummingbird! But it’s not easy to snap pics of them with my phone since they are in distance. With this telescope i can even see much clearer of these cute animals!

Also it’s my first time to see the moon in such details! All of us are impressed!

Overall it’s a very good telescope for beginners!

This telescope is perfect for my daughter as a christmas gift. The quality is very good and she can see everything clearly. She love looking at the stars and the moon with it. Easy to set up & use

I am a beginner telescope user, this unit was very easy to set up and focus. A great unit with which to learn.

Decent but not great

Easy to assemble. Fun to use. Decent function. 3x lens is dark and basically unusable.
25x lens works well. 10x lens hard to focus and needs a lot of light to see properly.
I guess good value for the money. Looks sharp. Light and easy to move around.
Don’t expect to see the cosmos for under $200, but it’s fun anyway. My first telescope so i have nothing to compare it to.

Very noticeable chromatic aberration. Better options available for same price.

I’ve owned a telescope since 1988 when i was given one for christmas. It was fairly basic, but after trying out similar budget priced modern options, i’m realizing it’s a lot better than much of what you can get today for the same equivalent price. That said, this telescope is a pretty good beginner option and worth the investment over other more budget priced options though it isn’t the best value for a beginner overall.

On face value, this telescope is a good deal. You get the telescope with an aluminum body, a stand with a movement handle, a phone camera mount, a sighting scope, two eyepieces (10x & 25x), a 3x barlow lens and a fairly decent padded nylon carry case, complete with handles and a shoulder strap. The case interior has velcro straps and a cushioned flap to hold everything down so they don’t crash around inside while carried. A smaller interior case is provided to hold the scope and eyepieces.

The lightweight aluminum stand has spiked feet so pressing them into the ground will help keep the telescope in place. It also features a very basic movement handle and a tray for holding your lenses and other parts. I don’t like that it’s so light as it lacks the grounding of a heavier stand and is prone to jiggle when touched, even when the spikes are pressed into the ground.

The telescope itself feels well built with good fit and finish. All the parts fit together cleanly, though there is a bit more plastic involved than i might have liked (especially with the barlow lens which, frankly, feels really cheaply made). It doesn’t really affect the operation of the telescope, but it makes it feel a little less premium than it otherwise might.

The body of the telescope is aluminum with a 70mm aperture and 700mm focal length. It uses a nonstandard mount to attach to the stand, so what you get is what you get. Upgrading will be limited to lenses and possibly the sighting scope. You’ll be out of luck with the stand.

One thing that i really like is the inclusion of the phone mount. This is something that i love. Not only does it let you take pictures with the telescope, but it lets you show others what the telescope is seeing in real time without taking turns to look through the eyepiece.

Where this telescope falters a little is in the optics. It’s not a bad starter telescope, but the optics aren’t as good as a similarly priced (adjusted for inflation) telescope from 30 years ago. There was noticeable chromatic aberration in this telescope. I’m guessing it’s less the eyepiece lenses than the large main body lens that is the issue. Chromatic aberration is color fringing around the edges of the thing you’re looking at. It was really obvious when looking at the moon and something that really stood out to me compared to my old telescope. It really bothers me and definitely hurts the value of this telescope.

Bottom line, is this worth the $200 asking price (at time of review)?

I looked into other offerings by some of the better known brands and i’d say that this telescope is a bit more expensive than similar offerings by name brands. What i found was better quality offerings for similar or a little less money. I can only recommend that first time buyers do their homework and get a little educated about brands and what to look for before making their first purchase.

Is this telescope bad? No, but for the price, it’s not as good as it could be.

Fairly good scope, everything else not so much

The scope itself is pretty good. I was able to get a full-frame view of the moon tonight with good clarity. The problem came when trying to take pictures with my phone. The phone holder isn’t terribly easy to line up with your camera if you don’t do it in the right order, and forget about doing it in the dark with the notches you have to line up in the adapter with the eyepiece.

The real trouble came with the tripod, though. It’s wobbly, fairly flimsy, and the pitch and yaw movement and locking are extremely coarse and lacking in finite control. Even with the viewfinder, it was difficult to get the moon close enough to be able to see in the eyepiece and center, but as soon as i did, and went to tighten the pitch/yaw locks, the scope would move so easily i was lucky to get a properly-framed view of what i was looking at. And that was before i put my phone on there with the adapter. With that on there, the pitch control was so imprecise that i actually had to tighten it a few degrees above where i was trying to aim and let it drop into frame, and even then i had to get lucky when i was using the 25mm eyepiece with the barlow lens. So i gave this scope 4 stars because the scope itself is good and the focus is easy to use, but the accessories definitely degraded the experience.

Difficult to set up, great fun.

Telescopes for kids astronomy, 70mm aperture and 500mm focal length professional refractor telescope for beginners and adults with phone adapter, az mount and tripod easy travel. It is a little tricky getting the camera lined up. It took about 20 minute to calibrate and actually see the moon at night. I love that it came in a backpack so we can take it camping when summer comes around. It came with a phone holder so you can take pictures directly from your phone. 4 out of 5 stars because it is difficult to set up. I recommend this product, with a bit of patience.

Easy to assemble, will update when skies clear

Super easy to assemble, lightweight so you can move it as needed to get your best view. The phone adapter didn’t seem to fit well with the newer iphones, but maybe i need a child to help me with it.
Living in the seattle area, we don’t have a lot of clear nights so i haven’t been able to use it with much success. I am anxiously awaiting clearer skies to check out some meteor showers this summer, and hopefully by then i’ll have figured out how to make the phone adapter work.
The directions are clear, easy to follow, and surprisingly polite. With clear skies this weekend, i will hopefully get to try it out and update my review.

This telescope with easy to assemble and use. Unfortunately, we have not had many clear evenings to fully enjoy it, but what we have seen, we enjoyed. A good beginners telescope.
