I have a shower stall with a floor drain not a traditional bathtub will this work in that or does it only work in recessed drains like tub drains?
Tubshroom is made to work with tub drains only. The shower drain doesn’t have the cross bars needed to keep the tubshroom from falling through. Plus, the diameter of the standing-shower drains is larger than the tub drains. For these reasons, tubshroom will most likely not work with your shower drain. The showershroom, that was specifically designed for standing-showers will hit the market in about 2-3 months from now. Hope this answers your question.

Will this allow you to plug up tub to take a bath?
If your tub is the kind that you flip the switch on the tub, yes you can leave it in and fill the tub. If you have to put down a stopper to fill the tub, then you would need to take out the tubshroom to take a bath and put it back in.i can take a bath without taking the tubshroom out as i just flip the switch to hold the water in the tub.

Does this catch hair that is shorter in length (a man’s shorter head and body hairs)?
I have 2′ hair and my wife has 20′ hair. It does a great job on both. Longer hair will require you to clean it a little more often. I know it catches both our hair because i have black hair and my wife’s blond, so when i clean it i see both. I doubt any hair can escape this trap. Those that do, will not pose any threat to the drain because those would be to short and go right through. I wish they had this made to fit my shower as well. I measured my shower drain and it is way to large for the tubshroom. Maybe some kind of an adapter guys?..

Will this also work for sinks?
Only for a small % of sinks that are 1.5′ in width. Most sinks are 1.25′, however, and we’re coming out with the sinkshroom for that in two months. Thanks!
Will it mildew? Mold?
I been using it about a month and haven’t noticed any mold or mildew but i suppose mold and mildew could grow on the gunk that the tubshroom catches if you never cleaned it. I take it out and remove the hair (and there is a lot of it) about once a week. It is very easy to clean.
Do you have plans to make a larger tubshroom?
There are plans for a larger version for shower stall drains
I have one and it’s too long for my drain. Drain has a thingy it it that seems unremovable. Would it be semi-effective if i cut off the bottom?
Mine sticks out of our drain and works just fine. If you are talking about the drain block that looks like an x with a small circle in the middle, it should sit right on top. In our shower the tubshroom sits up about 1/2 -3/4 inch and still collects the hair effectively. No need to cut.
Is the bottom open or closed? I have a post that sticks up in the middle of my drain that the shroom would need to fit over…
The core is hollow – open – so it will fit over the post.
Is the tubshroom diswasher safe?
100% yes!
Is there a taller version of this available somewhere or will there be?
Not sure
Does this really “make showering fun again?”
I don’t know about making showering fun, but the product is a disaster and must be a scam. The only way you can use it is to remove the stem that holds the plug in the drain. The plug comes off of the stem easily but without major plumbing renovation you cannot remove the stem. So this product can in no way be installed in a modern tub or shower. I think the whole concept of this product is a scam.

Would this work in a deep laundry sink? I’m concerned about how quickly it lets water run through. Thanks.
Thank you for your question!
While the tubshroom was not designed specifically for the utility sink, some of our customers do use the tubshroom in such applications. This said, please note that the drain size must be between 1.5′ and 1.75′ in inside diameter, and your utility sink drain must have cross bars inside the drain for the product to function properly. Please please be sure to measure your utility sink drain (they do differ) before installing.

Does anyone know how to clean the black goop stains off it? I’ve soaked it in bleach and it’s still there. It’s disgusting!
The tubshroom® is dishwasher safe, and is safe to virtually any bleach-free cleaner in your home. We definitely recommend rinsing the tubshroom® every time that you clean the hair by simply holding it in the stream of warm running water. If your tubshroom® already accumulated some soap sediment, we suggest that you squeeze the tubshroom® a few times in your hand. It will help break up any substance built up on the inside of the unit helping the cleanup process. Then you can soak it in a water and non-bleach cleaner solution, and then use an old toothbrush to clean it. This cleaning method seems to work best after prolonged use. We also recommend this all-purpose cleaner solution:
all-purpose cleaner: mix 1/2 cup vinegar and 1/4 cup baking soda (or 2 teaspoons borax) into 1/2 gallon (2 liters) water.

My standard tub drain is 1.75’…will this work? It’s a regular tub.
I have a kohler tub. The drain is approximately 1.75′ (bigger than 1.5 and less than 2 inches.) the tubshroom does not fit.
What about a shower drain that doesn’t go down? That’s flush with the floor? How would this work?
Tubshroom isn’t designed for shower stall drains because those are typically 2′ or larger, whereas tubshroom is designed for tub drains which are almost universally 1.5′. We’re working on a solution for your type of drain… Stay tuned!
Is the 1 3/4′ drain-size available yet?
It’s getting phased in over the next few months. For now, if you want to be certain, you can search for asin b076fbjcnb which is confirmed to be compatible with 1.5′ and 1.75′ drains. Thanks!
Where is this made?
Proudly designed in the usa and manufactured in the prc
How do you clean the mold? I have tried everything from soaking it in bleach to putting it in the dishwasher with dishwasher cleaning chemicals.

Does this work as a stopper too?
No. It just stops hair from going down…after a bath, i switch out the stopper and put this in while the water drains
I’m remodeling my bathroom and the tubshroom will not look good on the floor of my newly decorated shower floor. Does it come in chrome?
Currently, gray is the closest color available. Is your shower floor drain going to be a 1.5′ drain or a 2′ drain? Tubshroom is designed for 1.5′ drains
