I love how bright these lights are. Last year i got so frustrated trying to get the lights off of our tree (they were the older and slightly bigger lights) that i just cut them off so this year i bought these. Because these are so wonderfully bright, you need less of them it seems and they look beautiful. Glad i picked up the scissors last year!! Definitely recommend these.

Like that you can connect the strings together.

Great product

I like the lights. They all seem to work well. I was however fairly unhappy that i paid full price for an item that was very obviously opened, used and repackaged. There was scotch tape and a sticker to hold the box closed and the lights were unraveled and a tangled mess. I bought these lights before and they come nicely bound together; that’s not how this item was received this time. Not very happy about that. It should be discounted since they’re obviously repackaged.

I’ve been using sets like this for years , and the biggest problem is if you have a big tree and need more than one set.

Whatever the make of my older set i don’t know, but the controller made it so simple ..
Instead of a button to cycle through the variations it had a dial, so if you set 3 sets together on slow fade for example they would all started together and stay together slowly changing the entire color of the tree ….. Cool !!!

I thought this would be the new standard , but nope … We’re back to the button again which is a pain in the ass ….

In order to synchronize , you must put the 3 or 4 controllers together …..
Get them all to full on …. Then press the buttons altogether at exactly the same time…
Thoughtful design …. Isn’t it ….???

Don’t you hate it when you find the perfect something and when it breaks whatever is out there isn’t as good ….!?!??
Other than the syncing problem ….. Nice lights ….!

Oh something else ….. At the high tech chinese factory where they make these sets, …..they don’t always put the lights in the same order !?!??
For example 2 of my sets lit red, blue, green, amber …..
But my 3rd set lit amber, blue, red, green ….???
Which means i had to sit on the floor and rearrange 200 bulbs into the same order as the other 2 sets ….!!!!
Isn’t christmas more fun now …..lol …

Perfect product for festival

The lights meet my expectation as i was looking for a cheap option. They are average quality with the mode button/box seeming somewhat delicate. I have it protected because i doubt it could take much abuse. They are fine for mood lighting in my room but i’d be reluctant to use them on my christmas tree. Big note: these are not weatherproof!

Bought 3 sets opened 2 the second set has a third of the strip lights out.

For the dark multicolor variety:
the lights themselves are quite good. You don’t want to pull on them too much as most led light strings are fragile, but handle with care and you’ll be fine. The wires are dark green and feel soft and rubbery. There’s quite a long cord between the plug and the beginning of the lights, so you should have good leeway for placement.
The ‘bulbs’ are bright (maybe too bright depending on your use), and their colors are very good. Most led lights cast an overly cold glow – often because they include purple bulbs – but since these are only red, yellowish-orange, green, and blue bulbs, the overall glow is much less cold. From what i can see, these lights do not have the annoying 60hz flicker you see with other led strands.

Terrible quality control:
the first set i ordered worked the first time i plugged them in, but no longer worked the second time or any time after that. No matter how much i pressed the button on the control box, it just didn’t work. I initiated a return/exchange and was promptly sent an identical replacement set. The orange and black twinkle star box the lights came in was smashed up on one side, despite the fact that the shipping box was undamaged, meaning the lights were probably packed that way. The lights work, but while putting them up, i found one of the wires had a cut/break in the rubber sheathing. Most of the copper wire inside was still connected, but some of the copper strands were cut. Since the lights still work, i decided not to bother with another exchange or return and just tape up and reinforce the wire. However, i will be taking these down eventually and storing them as a backup set while putting up a better set of lights from a different vendor.|

conclusion: these would be 5 stars if not for the horrible quality control. If you want to avoid the risk and are indecisive like me, i would suggest plopping down the extra $16 or so and just getting the brizled 65.67ft 200 led string lights in the multicolor + warm white variety. They’re the same as these in colors and construction, but you can control the brightness and modes with a remote (you can’t with these), and you can switch between multicolor and warm-white-only with the press of a button. If you don’t care about that, though, then these lights might be for you. Others would seem to have better luck in the quality control area, assuming there is any qc like the stickers on the boxes suggest.

Update: the controller did get water in it after 1 season without the gazebo top on. Replaced with another of the controllers i have (since you get 1 per string) and worked again right away. Removed 1 star due to this.

Worked out of the box, order 4 of them in total to cover a 10×13 gazebo with 8 arms in the canopy. (see photo, sorry its in the day vs night, but that is when i was writing the review)
installed easy, i like the fact that even though each has a controller, they put the extension connection past that so when you are installing more than 1 string you can disconnect the extra controller sections and connect to just 1 controller vs have 4 controllers for 4 strings.
As to weatherproof, we have had 4-5 rain days including a couple of heavy ones since the install and the lights had no issues. (they are under a canopy, but that does drip water during heavy rains)
as to brightness, with 4 strings up, you can see your food sitting under the canopy of the gazebo just fine. As they are colored vs white lights, obviously your food has some different looks, but you can see and eat just fine. We use these lights as our deck lights when letting out the dogs at night and they provide more than enough light to go up and down the stairs and find the dogs in the yard.

There’s multiple light settings. Their not too dim but 1 strand probably won’t light up a room too well with no other light.

Next to a couple of different sets of my old incandescent bulbs these are dimmer, but the color is much richer and doesn’t look all washed out, which could be good or bad depending on your taste. I personally like the look and will be switching all my lights over to leds as the old ones go bad. I am using these around my windows so i don’t user the flash feature, but it is nice to have in case i ever want to switch it up.

They will also use less electricity and likely be more durable than the old-style lights so that’s good too.

The lights are way brighter than normal lights, we like to wrap them around the edge of the ceiling on our three season porch just for a festive ambiance, the room is a little under 18 feet long and a little under 12 feet wide, so i should have needed 60 feet of lights, these said 66 feet so i figured it would be perfect, they came up about 5 or 6 feet short from fully wrapping around the room, there is a long length of wire that is wrapped leading to the plug, i guess they’re counting that too 🙁 , a little misleading, all and all they are nice and we’ll just live with that little section that they didn’t cover
