What internet speed is supported ? Broadband 2.4 / 5 or only 2.4 ?

This camera works on the 2.4 wireless band. I have a router that has 2 antennas and supports both bands. In my router menu it offers 3 choices which are 2.4 and 5 and both. I have mine set for both and all my 2.4 cameras work alongside with all my other devices that use 5. Routers differ in their menus and services so that’s why people and the manufacturer state that their cameras use 2.4 wireless.

So mine is not able to connect when i’m out of my house.

Please firstly check the connection both on your camera and on your phone. When you are outside, you could connect your phone to cellular data to check the camera.
Make sure the wansview cloud app has the permission to use cellular data.

Also, please make sure the router in your home didn’t turn on firewall. If the firewall is on, it will only allow you to watch the camera when your phone is connected in the same wifi as the camera.
So if you are outside and your phone has a different network, you will be unable to watch the camera. Please access to router settings to turn off the firewall then use the cellular data on your phone to watch camera.

Yes. It comes with a mounting bracket and some mounting accessories.

Can you disable the sound recording? It’s illegal in our state to record conversations ‘surreptitiously’.

The wansview cloud app supports to watch 4 cameras on the same screen at the same time.

Can i mount this inside a car that’s parked within my wi-fi range?

You’d have to keep in mind the power requirements of the camera but other than that, yes you could mount the camera anywhere that it can connect to wifi. If you plan to use it to look out of a car window at night though the ir light would reflect on the glass too much and if you turn the ir off it would need good lighting outside of the car. So it kind of depends on what you hope to do with it.

Can this be used without wi fi? I need to use this as a motion detector recording camera used only as a monitor for a very small lobby intrance.

If you don’t want connect wifi, we do recommend to try trail camera, it doesn’t have to connect wifi, only turn it on, then it can record video to sd card(sd card not included)

Does it support third party softwares like blue iris ?

Does it come with batteries? Is it chargeable?

Don’t listen to lisa b. There’s apparently a large collection of people here who don’t understand in what context ‘wireless’ means. Wireless does not mean it does not have any wires. Wireless means it connects to your internet router wirelessly. Obviously it has to be powered somehow. I’d much rather it be plugged in than having to constantly replace batteries to something that is on 24/7.

Why won’t my alert videos play? Just keeps trying to load. I’ve logged out, restarted, but still can’t view the videos

Was cautious about this camera because of the price, but i can tell you i was surprised as to the simple set up and the operation of this camera. The directions are straight forward and the instalation and set up of the camera qas done in about 5 minutes. I use it to check on my pets at home. Experimented with the motion alert and was able to adjust the sensitivity enough that it detected my cat walking across the room. Definitely would have no issues with detecting a child or adult moving around. Using the on screen pan and tilt controls on my android phone works great. Slight delay but works very well to pan across the room. The night vision is very good. In a completely dark room, the camera is able to show great details within the room. Over all i am impressed with this camera and all its capabilities. I plan on ordering two more for my house.

Great product to keep an eye on elderly

I have 5 of those cameras to monitor my aging mom and keep an eye to her. Setting up the cameras was pretty easy. Cameras are great and does everything what they are supposed to do. I also enrolled to the cloud storage of the videos. The iphone app is also great.

Recently i had issues with the cameras that were losing the wifi connection. So, they become offline and useless. When i tried to reconnect to wifi it didn’t work. Resetting the whole camera didn’t work either. I contacted to the wansview help center via email and they responded within 24 hours. After some research, the issue was not with the cameras but the wifi channel being too congested. Our router had wifi channel selection set to auto and was using the channel 6. I scanned the neighborhood wifi and most of the wifi’s were using channel 1, 6 and 11. I switch to channel 9 and everything worked fine.

I highly recommend the cameras and cloud storage to anyone want to keep an eye on loved ones.

Excellent customer service and shockingly easy to use

I recently adopted a one-year old dog through a local rescue agency, and, very dishearteningly, i soon learned that the situation from which my dog had been pulled was an extremely abusive one, where most of the dogs were left to fend for themselves or kept in groups in cardboard boxes. At only five pounds, lily, my new (and most wonderful) friend, has had a great deal of anxiety as a consequence of these early-life experiences. When i leave my house to run errands on which she cannot accompany me, i crate her, and i have been (out of my own dog-guardian anxiety!) worried about how she handles my absence during those periods. A colleague of mine suggested wansview, and she could not have been more correct.

Reviews of the application through which the wansview camera works (i will discuss set-up momentarily) paint a curiously negative picture, some saying that recent changes in the application have made it difficult to sustain a connection with the camera. I downloaded the application, as the instructions requested, and i began the setup process. I thought i had done it properly and was thus surprised when the camera could not seem to establish an audiovisual connection between its recording lens and my cellphone. Here, two points must be noted, both of which will hopefully gesture toward the quality of the product and the excellent customer service wansview offers.

First, the error on my part–the instructions say clearly that a new user must wait to hear certain phrases emitted by the camera’s microphone to confirm that it is completely operational. Due to hasty reading on my part, i did not notice the final phrase for which one was supposed to wait, the content of which offered confirmation of a secure, steady internet signal. Within about ten minutes of the camera having been installed, i received a notification to update my firmware to the latest version (this notification was not the consequence of any complaint i had registered; it was simply the application informing me that new firmware was available). I downloaded the firmware, and the feed began to work. Since then, i have never had a problem with accessing the feed, and i am able to check in on lily while i am running errands. Never having owned a dog, i have had my fair share of first-dog anxiety, and i am now able to determine how long after my departure lily whines (steadily decreasing and now only lasting a few minutes) and check in on her while she is in her crate to ensure that she is sleeping and safe. The relief of that knowledge alone makes the product worthwhile. The quality of the feed is also excellent, so much so that i play it in its sd variety (i haven’t needed to go the hd route because everything is already clear as crystal). The application is incredibly easy to use, and since the successful installation i have not had to do anything.

Now, for the second point. Between my initial installation of the application and the ten to fifteen minutes it took for the firmwarm to update and for the camera to start working (during that time i could not maintain or open a connection between the camera’s feed and my cellphone), i sent an e-mail to wansview’s customer service department. One of their agents, melody, responded within 24 hours. Not only did she provide me with instructions on how to begin to assess what the potential issue might be and how she could help me address that, she explained that wansview so stands by its products that if my camera proved defective i could return it at no charge or have it replaced. Because the camera was already working, i made a note to myself to reply to her e-mail later in the day.

When, due to my own error, i forgot to reply to melody’s message, confirming that the camera was indeed working, she followed up me with via e-mail to confirm that i had received her message and to ask what she could do to help ensure that the camera was working. I do not know if i have ever had a customer-service experience during which a company representative reached out to me a second time because i mistakenly failed to reply to their first message. In her second message, she reiterated her commitment to helping me ensure that the product worked properly and that wansview’s ethic was one that stood behind the quality of its products and the quality of customers’ experiences with those products. I immediately replied, thanked her for her message, and explained how happy i was with the quality of the product.

In short, even if you experience any issues with this camera during setup, it seems like wansview takes very seriously its commitment to customer service. As someone not altogether fluent in techno-gadgetry, the abundant interest in helping to ensure that i could use the camera with use certainly marks out wansview as unique in my experience. And, the price is a terribly affordable one. All in all, i would encourage anyone to consider buying this camera, and, if they choose to do so, to buy it with the ease of knowing that there is an active customer-service team happy to interface with you and help resolve any issues.

Camera working fine

Had this camera for 1 week. Spectrum is my cable provider and using belkin ax3200 dual-band wifi 6 router. Plug the camera’s usb to the router then did a router reset. Next, followed the given camera instructions. Used my iphone phone # ( just the area code and #) and gave a password to create a login to get a text activation #. In my opinion, the picture and sound working great. Using my existing outside wansview camera for 3 years without a single problem is why i got this camera. It seemed getting the camera in working mode didn’t take long. I am 80 years old and not in a hurry.

Amazing customer service

I bought this camera a while ago and all was working great and i loved it. The pan and tilt and night vision all are excellent. I stopped using it for a bit and when i needed it for a new puppy i could not get the camera to connect to my wifi. I emailed customer service and we went back and forth maybe 6 times each time trying different things to try. Finally after a few days we got it figured out. My firmware needed to be updated and they provided me the link and all instructions on how to do that. So happy with it!!

One of the best purshases i have made!

This camera is fantastic around the house! I own a property in mexico, there i keep some of this cameras, i love that i can have a look of what is going on in there from my house in the us, it gives me so much peace of mind, this means you can place the camera anywhere and use it from any part in the world thru the app which is very friendly to use. Very easy to set up, just make sure the back of you qr code is white, i had a bit of trouble since i had my phone in night mode and the back of the code was black, the camera didn’t read it like that but once i figured this out everything went smoothly. I have alarms set up for movement inside the house, sometimes it gets triggered by the change in light at sunrise and sunset which i like to see and it reminds me to take a look at the house every day. For me this has been one of the best purchases i have made. Excellent image and sound quality, specially night vision, also the sound and speaker system work great! Totally recommend this camera!

Basic but works great

This camera was recommended by a friend who wanted to keep watch on her pet when she was away. I was hesitate because of all the negative reviews but i went with it based off the recommendation and i’m glad i did. The setup was very easy on my apple phone . I haven’t used the motion sensor feature or night vision so i can’t speak of that but i like that you can save certain camera views so you don’t have to manually move the camera you can just click on the saved screenshot . I also like that i can communicate through the app. I have no issues with the camera and will get another one in the future .

I only got this for date nights & long errands. It was easy to set up & it’s fun to play with. I just hope it lasts. Given my knowledge i don’t recommend this or any wifi based product as a home security solution. If you want the best & something that can’t be disabled from outside then get a product that has battery back up that runs off it’s own mobile data. You’re welcome.

Great camera, great app, works with alexa and all my software.

I have many cameras using many apps. From my experience wansview is one of the best brands for all around quality and capability. I mounted this camera up high so i could see multiple rooms and check in on my dogs. It came with an adjustable mounting bracket that you can mount on the wall or ceiling or you can just set on a table top. Whether i am in my office or away from home, i can quickly look at the video feed and ptz around the room to see what my dogs are doing and where they are. The camera was easy to set up and the controls are smooth and responsive. The wansview android app works great with all the settings you might need. You can also tell alexa to show the camera on your appropriate device and it works.
(*alexa compatibility – all the wansview cameras work with alexa show devices, firesticks, tvcubes, but not in the alexa pc app or the live preview in the android app. With the pc or android app, you can still tell alexa to show it on one of the other devices)
this camera and all wansview cameras also works with my home automation software i use.
With all ptz cameras, when you use the ptz you can hear the motors because the mic is located in the device, however you do not hear the motion of the camera when you are in the room with this camera.

Wansview wireless 1080p indoor security camera.

I purchased this camera for use as a security measure pointing to my front porch and driveway through the window in my living room. It works very well and has many useful settings. The night vision is better that others that i have tried but still lacks a bit when very dark. Keep in mind you’re only paying $30.00, so you do get what you pay for. The one thing that i feel could use improvement is for the motion detection, it needs a ‘person detection’ mode. There is a sensitivity adjustment which is good, but i have a lot of squirrels in my area and they like to come up on the front porch. I am having a hard time finding just the right sensitivity level to keep from getting squirrel alerts, instead of just person alerts, especially with varying lighting. The camera serves its purpose though, and does it quite well for what it costs.

I recommend this product.

I purchased 2 q5’s a couple of weeks ago for home security.
Pros: i love the crisp imagery and alarms/sirens as well as the 2 way communication. I love the range, the night vision features, the portability, the preset position features but most of all the ability to control the camera remotely by my phone. The very easy setup process with a very user friendly interface.
Cons:
the lag in the real time live feed causes issues with motion detection.
I would love to see a toggle versus a press and hold button on the mic.

Very pleased

I’m enjoying this camera! It has a lot of great features to it. Picture is sometimes grainy and choppy, but that could very well be my lousy internet. There is quite a delay when adjusting the view remotely, and it’s not always very responsive to my touch; but i don’t often have to use that feature. In all, good quality for the price, and good price for the peace of mind it provides in being able to check on my home and fur babies while i’m at work.

Still testing the product but here are my initial thoughts:

pros: high quality image, small and prtable. I’ve already had to move it around my apartment multiple times to get the best views of what i think are the most vulnerable areas of access to my apartment for a criminal.

Cons: when observing the live feed through the app, i did notice a time delay before a moving object or person was seen/recorded. It was not delivered in real time.

Technical issues with support and resolution

I had trouble with my first camera and started an email dialogue with company that felt like i was going around in circles with the support team—trying multiple things and none of them working. But they didn’t give up on the issue when i was about to. So they decided to send me a new camera without any further hassle. The new camera works well and the support team continued to follow up with me about shipping, receiving and functionality. I’m grateful for their support and highly recommend this camera because the quality is really good and the support even better.

Great camera.

Got this camera when we went away to keep an eye on the house. One important thing to note. It does come with a power cord and wall adapter, the listing says it does not have a power cord. The other thing to say is buy a sd card, without a sd card installed it will only show real time video. With a sd card you can look back at only the motion events that are caught and recorded. If you want continuous recording you need to subscribe to their cloud service. We only used the sd card option and it worked good. Motion detection in the area we had it was picking up movement 30’ away, which was the furthest the room offered. It is a good camera for the money. It has good resolution during the day. At night it also has good picture quality. It takes a few seconds after the lights go out for it to switch over but this is common even for expensive cameras.

I did purchase the memory card and i’ve been getting a weird message when trying to review video , again when i am away from home. Trying to resolve. Says a need to have my phone and camera in a lan. Not sure what this means. Will update again if i figure out solution.

i was told that you can only view memory card motion recordings when you are connected to the same wifi network that the camera is on.
I’ve had some issues with the camera randomly dropping my network or needing to be reset a few times. Not sure why this is happening. Also i decided to try the 30 free cloud trial. I will update with that experience. I have 3 cameras and the one that had a memory card in it didn’t not want to stay connected to the cloud. When i took the card out that issue resolved.

I posted pictures of what was in the box as well as a few screen shots. Also a picture of the correct app to look for. My husband downloaded the wrong app and it took us a while to figure out why he couldn’t connect. But after that it was simple. I purchased this camera as a baby monitor and also to check in on our dogs when we are out. I haven’t had the baby yet so we are just testing it out to make sure it works good before the baby comes. My husband is in the army and will be deployed overseas the first 13 months after the baby is born. This will let him view live video , take screen shots and hear his child while he is away.
It gives you the option to purchase a monthly cloud subscription for recording. Or you can purchase a micro sd card which is what i did. You do not need to do either. It still works and records 10 second clips of motion. But that has limited storage without the cloud or card. I have included a picture of the hardware for mounting and the slot for the sd card on the camera body itself. I plan on adding a second and third camera. You can add up to 4 devices.

Pros:
+ setting up the first time is quick (5 min for both software and hardware) with their easy-to-follow instructions. (after we used correct app ‍)
+ camera hardware is well-built, good-looking, and small in size which i like.
+ the wide-angle lens is the best i’ve seen in terms of clarity and coverage.
+ crisp & clear images and videos – day and night – surprisingly good quality.
+ excellent audio & mic. You will get feed back if you open the camera with sound and you are close to it. Also don’t place near a fan.
+ the wansview cloud android & iphone phone apps are easy to set up, easy to use and to configure. I have an iphone , husband has an android. Both apps work good.
+ upon detecting motions, the camera sends me alerts on my phone, and 10-sec video clips in the mobile app. We have dogs so we turned this feature off or we’d get constant alerts. You can do this via the app.
+ allows you to use a sd card for more recording capabilities.
+ allows the main user ( the person who first sets up camera with phone app) to send an invite to up to 3 other users who will need to download app, make an account and then will be able to view the camera as well.
+ we have both tested out the connection on the app while we weren’t home ( he’s in another state right now) and neither have had an issue connecting or viewing the camera.
+ has a feature on app that allows you to set multiple favorite positions which i love. So if you are moving the angle around you can hit a potion and it will automatically go back to it.

Cons:
– no audio-detection alert capability (only motion-detection). Maybe this will change in the future )
– there is a small delay with motion and when you see it on the camera feed.
– doesn’t always stay connected to the wifi which you then have to reset and reconnect camera.
– the sound is delayed and a little hard to hear at times.
Overall for price and quality and ease of use i would definitely recommend this camera.

The picture quality and video are great. I also love that the camera swivels. I have it on a wall in my kids room and can see 90% of the room. My issue is the security alerts i get from xfinity about this device. Makes me want to toss it out.

Good indoor cam at this price point

Good indoor camera with wide range of view, i wish it would go more in the downward direction but good enough. Picture is crisp as long as your internet connection is stable. The pairing to set up was slightly finicky but after a few tries it connected without issue. I got one first in the fall to spy on my kitten and then got another one a few months later to cover more monitoring space. The 2nd one died on me after 3 months. I reached out to wansview and after a few email exchange received a replacement of similar camera. So far everything is working great and i would give their customer service 5 stars. The finicky pairing cost them the 1 star for final score.

Updated review..issues resolved

I bought two of these recently.. One works but humming thru speaker to smart phone, the other
one stopped working after multiple reconnect attempt and refresh, and it would never stay on with a
smooth picture always fluttering, signal strength was excellent but move it slightly in software with smartphone and it starts acting up. Turned the motion detection off, worked better for awhile , but now won’t stay connected
even next to wifi modem.

Can’t go wrong for the price, some quirks that need to be worked out

i’ve been having some issues connecting to the camera when i am away from home. I did purchase the memory card and i’ve been getting a weird message when trying to review video , again when i am away from home. Trying to resolve. Says a need to have my phone and camera in a lan. Not sure what this means. Will update again if i figure out solution.

i was told that you can only view memory card motion recordings when you are connected to the same wifi network that the camera is on.
I’ve had some issues with the camera randomly dropping my network or needing to be reset a few times. Not sure why this is happening. Also i decided to try the 30 free cloud trial. I will update with that experience. I have 3 cameras and the one that had a memory card in it didn’t not want to stay connected to the cloud. When i took the card out that issue resolved.

I posted pictures of what was in the box as well as a few screen shots. Also a picture of the correct app to look for. My husband downloaded the wrong app and it took us a while to figure out why he couldn’t connect. But after that it was simple. I purchased this camera as a baby monitor and also to check in on our dogs when we are out. I haven’t had the baby yet so we are just testing it out to make sure it works good before the baby comes. My husband is in the army and will be deployed overseas the first 13 months after the baby is born. This will let him view live video , take screen shots and hear his child while he is away.
It gives you the option to purchase a monthly cloud subscription for recording. Or you can purchase a micro sd card which is what i did. You do not need to do either. It still works and records 10 second clips of motion. But that has limited storage without the cloud or card. I have included a picture of the hardware for mounting and the slot for the sd card on the camera body itself. I plan on adding a second and third camera. You can add up to 4 devices.

Pros:
+ setting up the first time is quick (5 min for both software and hardware) with their easy-to-follow instructions. (after we used correct app ‍)
+ camera hardware is well-built, good-looking, and small in size which i like.
+ the wide-angle lens is the best i’ve seen in terms of clarity and coverage.
+ crisp & clear images and videos – day and night – surprisingly good quality.
+ excellent audio & mic. You will get feed back if you open the camera with sound and you are close to it. Also don’t place near a fan.
+ the wansview cloud android & iphone phone apps are easy to set up, easy to use and to configure. I have an iphone , husband has an android. Both apps work good.
+ upon detecting motions, the camera sends me alerts on my phone, and 10-sec video clips in the mobile app. We have dogs so we turned this feature off or we’d get constant alerts. You can do this via the app.
+ allows you to use a sd card for more recording capabilities.
+ allows the main user ( the person who first sets up camera with phone app) to send an invite to up to 3 other users who will need to download app, make an account and then will be able to view the camera as well.
+ we have both tested out the connection on the app while we weren’t home ( he’s in another state right now) and neither have had an issue connecting or viewing the camera.
+ has a feature on app that allows you to set multiple favorite positions which i love. So if you are moving the angle around you can hit a potion and it will automatically go back to it.

Cons: (only one so far)
– no audio-detection alert capability (only motion-detection). Maybe this will change in the future )

overall for price and quality and ease of use i would definitely recommend this camera.
