How many months doest it work by one filter?

I live in boston where the tap water is very clean – measuring at only 060. We drink a lot of water and used the same filter for 5 months – frankly, because we were not worried too much due to the good quality of the tap water to begin with. In 5 months the measurement went from 000 to 030.

Does this filter fit the zd-010 10-cup water pitcher?

Mind dancer – i had the same problem. Finally got it screwed on after many tries. The threads on the filter are different than the threads on the pitcher. Did you have any luck with any other of the one’s you received?

I’ve been reading about unsealed filters. Are filters purchased through zerowater via amazon sealed and therefore, uncontaminated?

I ordered a 4 pack of filters. When i opened the sealed white plastic wrap, and opened the top, the filter was wet…i decided to put it on my unit and use it anyway, but tested it before consumed..the reading was ’69’…i am returning the entire 4 filters and will deal only with zero water company directly.

What is the shelf life of these replacement filters?

I’m not sure about the shelf life. Never thought about it and you bring up a good point. I usually buy the 8 or 12 pack because we need to change out the filters every three weeks. I actually have two large, 23 cup dispensers. One is in the refrigerator, and other is left out for cooking, so we go through them quickly. One thing about the one not in the refrigerator – it does start to develop a moldy smell, i suppose from the moist condition of the filter and room temperature combined. I wash it out regularly as a result. I read other reviews stating the same problem with the larger dispensers that are left out of the refrigerator, so i suspect the problem is universal and not specific to this product. Customer service is excellent, so if you would like to call them and ask, i’m sure they would be more than happy to answer. (800).503.2939.

Which part of the filter releases the bitter tasting chemicals after 3 weeks? Is there any way to remove that section of the filter?

I have to admit, there is no discernable taste change. At least i cannot taste it. But a lot of the filter material comes out of the 2 vent holes on top of the filter and they float around as water is being filtered. Biggest problem in my view is when i pour the water after it is filtered some of the same material from the top ends up falling into the cup, glass or kettle. Answer to you question is, no. There is no way to stop this stuff from coming out.

Is zr017, zr006, zr008 the same size filter, my unit uses zr017 filter if i can buy the eight pak i can savemoney

Yes same filter. Zr017 is a two pack, zr006 a six pack and so on. I get the zr012 twelve pack for the largest savings.
Phil

Will these fit on the zd-018 23 cup dispenser???

Yes it will cause i have the one you mentioned and been using it since zero water came out. You can taste the difference.

Do these filters also work in the zero 6 cup pitcher? (i really wish this info would be listed in the description!).

Yes.

Are these truly authentic? Some reviews say they are not plus this other listing looks like the real deal. Https://www.amazon.com/zerowater-comin18ju0

These are authentic zerowater filters.

Are zerowater filter models interchangeable, or are they specific?

Only one type zerowater replacement filter for all zerowater dispensers and pitchers.

Do you have to soak the filters before installing them?

Manufacturer advice getting water run directly into the top of the filter from faucet to avoid getting air-lock. It is recommended to ‘burp’ the filter by shaking, squeezing or tapping gently on the sides of the filter. Soaking is not needed.

So i can i assume there is only one filter model fits the 10 and 23 cup models just question how many to buy at once?

I’m still on my first filter and it’s lasted well over 2 months now, i check it regularly and it still reads ‘000’ it will last a while longer. I believe it depends on the purity of your water to start.

After 4 days used, why the water level was 5; it smells like fish, and it gives us diarrhea?

I got these from this very page- a pack of two. I’ve been using zero water for more than five years but haven’t been testing in the last couple of years when the batteries ran down in my zerowater meter, but after 3 weeks on this latest filter, the water tasted really bad. Got new batteries, and the meter read 12 points higher than the tap water. Immediately put new filter in and tested after three pitcherfuls: it tested at 009. Brand new. The package says replace when it reads 006.
Seller and zerowater, fix this, please.

I am wondering why the filters i just received from amazon have a blue rubber seal, usually they are black? Hope these are authentic!

I always go with the cheapest i can find.sometimes it’s amazon, sometimes it’s not. If you have the gauge to check ppm and you get the 000 reading, that’s all that matters .well that and the duration of the filters themselves. Keep track of duration to the required 006 or whatever number you can live with,on each purchased filter from various manufacturers.then you’ll have an idea as to what’s what.

Has this filter been tested to reduce fluoride in tap water? Thanks!

When i received my filter it came with a comparison list of about a dozen things it filtered out but i don’t recall fluoride being one of them. Of course i don’t have the list anymore and i couldn’t find it on their website. I used to live in a town in texas called hutto. Just happen to notice that in your name. Sorry i couldn’t be of much help.

Do i need to soak the new filter before use or just run water through?

No need to soak. Just run the tap water directly onto the top of the filter when you first fill it to get rid of some of the air trapped there.

Original filters?

Yes. We are authorized seller of zerowater products.

Replacement filter for zp010

Jerryany of the zerowater replacement filters will fit your pitcher. This is just a model code/identification given by the manufacturer for your pitcher your purchased (1o cup). All the following filters are the same (4 packs – zr-006), (3 packs – zr-003), (2 packs – zr017) and will fit your pitcher. It all depends the quantity (pack/packs) you decide to purchase.mike g. Leon

The picture shows 8 filters. I would like to clarify, how many filter comes in package?

Total eight zetowater replacement filters.

Is this a new presentation? Do they fit my 23 c dispenser bought last year? Hope they last a few weeks more!

All of the pitchers/dispensers use the same filter. The travel bottles use a smaller filter. These are zero water filters and how long they last is different for everyone depending on the water being filtered…. In my experience. Hope this helps!

Filter makes great tasting water

These zero filters are good and the filtered water tastes great. Unfortunately, the tds (total dissolved solids) in the tap water in my area is high (avg 250), is slimey, cloudy and undrinkable. Therefore, the filters each will filter only about 20 gallons. Each filter only lasts about 20 days. The cost for 4 filters is about $55 (with tax) or about $13.75 per filter. Because they only last about 20 days, i spend about $20 per month on filters plus my cost for tap water. This may not sound like much money but due to my limited, fixed income, the filters are priced out of my budget. I wish i could continue to purchase them so i could have good tasting, clean water but unless something changes in my budget, i cannot do that. Thank you!

Zero water filters work great!

I have had my pitcher for more than 5 years and works great! I write the date i install new filter at the top below the the threaded area. I have private well water which has a lot of iron which discolor everything and taste is metallic. Zero water filters this out, to 0, and last approximately 5 weeks. I use this for drinking water, coffee or food prep, and for hummingbird nectar. I watch for sales and also order from amazon. Will purchase a new one of this one wears out!

Keep filtering

Unlike the knock off zero walter filters these originals last twice as long. I have tested knock-offa and they lasted about 2 weeks while i have yet to replace my zero water original filter and it’s been almost a month since i put it into my filter reservoir. These are about $10 more but they last much longer so they are well worth it, but these not the off-brands you won’t regret it.

Makes water taste like water

It does a great job of getting rid of the chlorine smell and taste. I get about 6-7 weeks out of a filter, and i drink a lot of water, about 4 liters a day. The price went up quite a bit since the last time i bought the 6 pack. It’s still cheaper than buying a single filter in the big box stores. This is one of the few things i still buy from amazon.

Loosing faith in this product

When we first received our pitcher and filters we would get a couple of months use from one filter. Recently the filters we have been receiving last less than a month. The only thing that has changed is the quality of the filter. We are still a retired couple living in the same house using the same water with the same meter reading and drinking the same amounts of coffee and tea. So it has to be the filters have changed. Just my opinion but maybe we are received reconditioned or recycled filters.

Best value on the internet

For those who already own a zerowater: this price per filter is the best, better than walmart, better than zerowater.com themselves. Buy it here.

For those who don’t own a zero water setup read below:
zerowater provides the best tasting filtered water i’ve ever had, better than brita or pur brands. However this comes at the cost of a significantly shorter lifespan per filter.
Living in los angeles where the tap water is virtually radioactive, brita and pur brand filters simply don’t remove enough contaminates to change the taste at all. However as i noted above, while a brita filter might last multiple months, zerowater filters struggle to last 30 days (roughly 30 gallons) before turning sour.
This still ends up making ownership of zerowater significantly more expensive in the long run versus brita and pur, while still being cheaper than buying water from the grocery store or services like sparkletts.

Highly recommend.

Best water filter ever!!

The best clean water for a reasonable price. It does what it says it does. Zero contaminates after filtering. Before i filter my tap water is 350-600 score on the tester and after it is zero! 1 filter lasts me 1 month – i use more than 6 cups per day. Taste is good. Can absolutely recommend this product after using for about 1 year.

Water tastes great, expensive to keep up

I absolutely love the product, the price is the issue. It filters well and the water tastes great, it’s definitely doing its job. What it doesn’t tell you is that each filter lasts about 2 weeks. Every month i’m spending $50 to change the filters. If you buy it just know it’s an ongoing investment into the product. You can’t stretch it either as the filter releases a strong lemon flavor when the filter us going out.

Really does have zero impurities

We purchase this as a back up one hour reverse osmosis system had to have new filters ordered. Did the water test on tapwater, bottled water and zero water. This absolutely takes out everything from your water. Very happy with the purchase. The filter lasted for four people using constantly for roughly 5 days. That’s not too bad at all. Bought extra filters as a back up.

5 stage water filters

Zerowater is a great portable pitcher water filtration system. I just wish they had a program to return the used canisters. With the purchase of one of their pitchers you get a tds meter. Total dissolved solids is a decent indicator of the condition of your water. The lower the number your water is to start the longer the filters will hold up.

Tds removal

We have a high (448) tds and i purchased this pitcher and a set of four additional filters to mitigate these levels. To my surprise, the initial filter lasted less than one month at a cost of over $13.00 per filter. I called zero water and was informed that with my tds levels, one filter would only eliminate the tds in 8 gallons of water. I can purchase filtered water with no tds for .39¢ a gallon ($3.12 for 8 gallons). Continuing to use this pitcher and filter is too expensive, even though it is more convenient than leaving the house to purchase filtered water. The bottom lint — zero water either needs to manufacture more resilient filters or greatly reduce the cost of the filters they sell.

This works well, but filter cartridges not always top quality

The water in my city is undrinkable in my opinion. I use the zero water filter for my own drinking and also for my numerous house plants. The filters work very well, and the tds tester that comes with the pitcher tells me when it’s time to change filters.
These filters normally allow the water to pass through within 3- 5 minutes. In the last year i have found that sometimes a new filter will work well for a few times, then something changes and it takes hours for the water to pass through the filter. The tds tester shows that the filter is still working, but now it’s working very slowly, which is really inconvenient and not what i’m used to.
The price of these filters is rising, so now i pay more for a box of filters which may or may not contain a few poorer quality filters.

4Expert Score
Good water, but the price is high

We got a 12 pack last year and the filtered water tasted sweet for about 2 gallons, normal for 10-12. At the 14-15 gallon mark the water would start to get lemony, which i’m guessing is an added flavor marker to let the user know it is time to change the filter.
I like the filter, i don’t trust my apartment’s tap water.
But doing the math:
each filter rounds out to just over $10.
Each filter lasts about 15 gallons
so each gallon is $10/15, or 67 cents
in comparison, if you go to a filtered water dispensary and bring your own container (like walmart has) water costs 30 cents per gallon.

Do i like these filters? Absolutely
do i think they are overpriced…yes, sadly i do.

Great filter, but high maintenance

I have been using the zero water filter and pitcher for a few months. It does filter water very well – and i live in an area where the tap water tests over 400 with the tds sensor. I expected it to need to be changed more frequently, so i now use my old brita pitcher and filter to ‘pre-filter’ the water to try to make the filter last longer. What frustrates me is that the filter – at least for me – is very high maintenance. I’ll pour water into the pitcher, fully expecting it to take a while to filter through. The water then gets to the point where it will not flow down at all. Then i go through a routine of shaking the pitcher and slamming it down on a book to try to start the water flow, which usually works. In worst cases, i wash my hands and take it apart to squeeze the filter to try to make it work – which is also what is recommended on their website. I wish zero water would look into their filter design and see if there is a way that they could make it a little less high maintenance. It does a good job of filtering the water.

Almost perfect with one flaw

I’ve been using zerowater filters for around 8 months. In that time i’ve used 4 filters. The water that it filters does what it says it does, it reduces the ppm to 0. It’s drastically helped my gut health and overall i’m happy with the product.

My one gripe about it though is that the filters get air bubbles and stop working with every. Single. Filling! Every time i refill my water jug i have to fill it halfway, stop the faucet, take the top out and squeeze the filter multiple times to get the air out, replace and fill to full. I fill this thing a minimum of once per day, sometimes more. It’s a minor complaint but if they could somehow fix this the product would be 5/5, for now though i’ll leave it at 4/5.

What's wrong with this batch of filters?

I have been using these filters for a very long time with never an issue. This last batch of filters doesn’t want to filter water. After about two days the filters just barely dribbles water out and takes roughly two hours to filter a 12oz. Glass of water. For the record as i said i have been using these for years. The water i put into the reservoir is filtered when it comes into my house than filtered through the filter in my refrigerator. I only have had problems with this batch. I’ll continue to use what i have, it’s just a little frustrating.

Wow i’m drinking water again

I’ve used brita since college. Let’s just say, it’s been many years. I assumed they were all the same or that brita was better. Even with brita, my water was not so great tasting after moving to an area with lower quality water. I tried zero water and am suddenly drinking water again. I’m blown away by the taste difference. It is also wild how it doesn’t slowly lose efficacy. It is hugely effective right up until the moment it’s used up. It instantly goes from clean and tasty to i need to change the filter. They include a device to test particle presence in the water. I tested it and thought it was broken until i tested untreated tap water. 0 particles vs over 300 particles. Just make sure you have your next filter already so that when it needs replacing you can switch it immediately. And it filters water more slowly. Definitely glad i switched.

4Expert Score
With hard water they don’t last long

I love that these really do drop the solids in my water to zero or very near zero (like 1 or 2), but my water is hard and these cost so much i would be investing in culligan countertop if i were not moving. (the zero water for the faucet attachment didn’t do anything for us, but the pitchers have worked well.)

the directions say to rinse the outsides of the filters off before use, and if you try to run water through them before use (as many are used to with other filters) then air bubbles get trapped and they don’t filter quickly. I also try to never let the water level drop below the filter point or i seem to have the same problem.

Love my water now

Here is what you need to know. These filters work! Our water is public but comes from a series of very large community wells and even though it is treated, it still has a lot of dissolved minerals. This filter takes it all out on gives pure great tasting water. For a while. We are a family of four and are all drinking lots more water. I have the big dispenser in the fridge. After about a month of great tasting water, it starts to taste like chapstick of all things. Pop in a new filter and back to great water. Pro tip… Refill the top of the dispenser often to keep the water line in the refill chamber above the filter opening that is on the bottom of the refill chamber. If the filter opening is exposed to the air, it seems so absorb any smells from food in the fridge. That is how good the filter is. Water still tastes great until it doesn’t. I just think keeping the water line over the filter makes it last longer.
